By the number of votes here on imdb and how little time is any the show spent on the top 10 from Netflix, is say this is a quite underrated show.
I enjoyed this extravagant over the top series. It's labeled as a drama but I would also add mystery on the tags.
For the people who want to watch the show because many actors are also from money heist, a warning, it's nothing like money heist.
It's a very different show with great characters that you don't know how if they're good or bad until the end. Loved the lighting, the colors, the music, the atmosphere. Nice acting and entertaining story. Dark, mysterious and at times funny. It has its flaws, it's not a masterpiece, but if you're looking for entertainment give it a go.

The whole concept of how different people experience their sacred 'family' is interesting and well-executed. It's always fun to see the high quality of Spanish TV series. Having said that, the only thing that is truly, truly mind-boggling is a few extremely explicit (gay) sex scenes in both season 1 and 2 that make no real sense in the storyline and seem to be completely random. Or is it the director pushing a personal agenda here? Weird. For the rest, surprise after surprise in the storyline, and just when you think things cannot get crazier, something unexpected happens - or has happened before.

This mini series hooks you from the start and makes you discover the many facets of motherhood. It is not only a story of a family drama but it also touches on how women see their roles within society, are these roles imposed or self-chosen ?
Najwa Nimri is fabulous in her role and the plot, even if at times is predictable, keeps you hooked. Alba Flores does not disappoint either even if her accent was a bit weird. The OST was also well chosen. I don't get the negative reviews as the story telling has been used in other series (flashbacks to explain how things are interwoven). It is definitely a bing able series made by Netflix.

I was looking forward to this series, amongst other things because of the two actors from La casa de papel, which I liked very much (except for the last season). Unfortunately, Sagrada familia turned out to be a great disappointment. I was tempted to quit after the first couple of episodes but forced myself to continue hoping it might become better. But it became only worse. A totally incoherent script with shallow characters acting often randomly for reasons unknown and an inexplicable if not stupid finale. Such a waste of time.
I rated it with a 3 only because of one villain character played by Alba Flores that was somewhat digestible.

Having made mistakes in the past, there is no way to fix them, all you need is a gun, a knife, or an irresistible desire to forget everything. The film shows plot interweaving in the style of Pedro Almodovar. The film is about the fact that the mistakes of family life can be corrected only by criminal talent. It is impossible to keep the past in the present today's life. He just needs to be killed. Which is what several families do, whose lives are tightly connected by a criminal past and family secrets. In the film, the characters are not divided into good and bad. Depending on the situation, everyone acts only as it is beneficial to him at the moment. Son and daughter can kill mother. Mother can kill everyone. And nothing can be fixed. You can only kill the past in the literal and figurative sense. Cold-blooded and merciless, for the sake of his family, profit and future. This is today's reality.

It's quite amazing to believe that the same person who wrote this rubbish also wrote "House of Flowers". This is a very confusing way to tell a story. It seems to be done by a series of random scenes, played in a non-sequential manner, from which the viewer is expected to try and piece together the sequence of events and occurrences that is the essence of the story. There are also a couple of subplots that seem to be based on "Desperate Housewives" characters, none of which have anything to do with the main story. Add to this amateurish make up that makes the actors all look like clowns, and the total result is really quite a laughable one. The season ends on a sort of cliffhanger that suggests there may be a second season, but hopefully that will not be the case.
(with a few shortcomings, but which one is exempt of any of those?)
Najwa Nimri was amazing in it, as usually.
I don't mind the scattered story-telling, I love it when shows are done like this, happening on multiple timelines. I think the only thing which could have been done much better regarding this aspect is the way they handled the essential informations. They gave away too much at the very beginning. They should have left us guessing about what is actually going on, and to reveal the facts (like who really is the birthmother of the child) just at the end of the season, it would have been more intriguing that way imo.
What was annoying was that the twins, especially Aitana continuously did stupid things... They'd probably already be in Canada if they would have been able to not blindly follow their libido for one more week, lol...
The early 00's feeling they wanted to bring back, has visually left a stain on the show (make-up/costumes), but oh well, I can live with that.
So plot/visual-wise this would be a 8/10 for me.
But thanks to Najwa who made it interesting to watch and considering the fact that I liked the show enough that I'd like it to get a second season, made me give it a 9. Maybe in the next one they'll get right what they missed here. Fingers crossed!

First, the show is really good, I finished it in 2 days, its so addictive you can't stop watching.
I liked the central topic and how it showed us the moral dilemma that mothers face. The main idea is to examine the link a mother forms with her child.
The main character here can be seen a villain, caring mother, criminal etc. But I sorta understand her pain, losing a child is always hard and accepting it can be even harder. But the question is how can a mother that lost her child do the same to another mother?
Wouldn't it be the same suffering?
Also, the actors are great in their portrayals, the atmosphere is also pleasant, I liked how it is set in the 90s.
So, a good show that asks important questions and lets you find your own way of answering them.

This show is one of the few shows I've seen in Spanish and I must say it is very good. I didn't know what to expect but the cast is amazing. Every character is absolutely believable and all in all just great actors! I love how twisted this show is and that you constantly get surprised. I felt the pain of the characters and the desperation in particular scenes. The love scenes were perfectly paced.. very tasteful and touching. Also since I'm a 90a kid - I love the whole vibe!! I usually get bored easily with Netflix shows but this one I binge watched the first season in one day!! Couldn't stop!

Season 2 ruined a fairly decent show in Season 1.
No one behaves remotely normal and the mother a psychopath, pure evil, a serial killer and her kids are just too stupid and manipulate as she is.
*** SPOILER***
Not one character is likable.
Season two became a telenovela and lost total focus of the original plot.
Nobody has any moral compass.
A poor trisomic kid is sacrified, a lost junkie soul is also sacrificed for the same reason that the psychopath mother is claiming her rights and that she will do anything for her children.
A poor ganitor is killed....
SKIP as you will feel infuriated and cheated with S2.

I find that this movie has an unconventional narrative structure, marked by abrupt or blunt transitions between present and past actions that seem a bit awkward. What truly stands out is the acting, especially Najwa's who is incredible. Even if the characters have an exaggerated, overly-dramatic role, in my view it only adds-up to the story construction.
I consider the scenography was quite interesting too, with meticulously crafted sets, attention to details, well-thought camera angles and the music chosen complemented nicely the scenes, enhancing the dramatism or emotional impact.
I fear it will be difficult though for the second season to rise to the same level, but I look forward to it.

The basic plot of the story could be good except for three things; 1. The acting is some of the worst I've ever seen. The main character Gloria, who plays the mother is the worst actor of the show. 2. The way the plot plays out is so chaotic it is just a train wreck and the scenes seem out of order and are so chaotic it makes it hard to keep up with what is going on.. 3. The poorly written scenes. I watched the whole first season and tried to get through the first episode of the second season but I just can't anymore. Some of the scenes are written so poorly it makes me want to scream. This show was a waste of my time.
Okay, so the acting was superb. The makeup looks bc it's based in the 90s. Hence the hair, makeup, & wardrobe reflect that. Loved that their was some diversity in the cast from LGBT charters to having more people of color than usual for Spanish film work. The twins romance lives are very spicy, and they are traumatized/manipulated by their disturbed mother. Definitely a thriller that's not in chronological order, so you have to pay attention. Elite is similar in terms of its timeline. A couple of the characters are a bit dull, but in contrast to the majority of the characters having interesting backstories, it works. The suspense makes it binge worthy, and the spicy scenes will make you hot & bothered.

This is another wonderful spanish psychological drama, mystery, action with novela like qualities from the director of House of Flowers/Casa de flores. He weaves beautiful cinematography and visual symbols, and weaves past with present plot twists to tell the story. He always has a wonderful queerness that just is, in his stories which as a queer person is wonderful to watch. The leads Najwa & Alba were also in Money Heist - another great series in this genre and are AMAZING-love them. You have to be OK with the fact that this is a NOVELA - meaning over the top themes. Watch it in Spanish with subtitles to really feel the actors if you don't understand Spanish.

This sucks. Repeated drama, cycles and meaningless scenes. Whatever the main story was or what the heck this was about, it is presented awfully. It's a pity for the cast, because I admire the protagonists.
If I tried to make a mense with myself for watching so many hours of a huge void, I would say that is a good series for hyperprotective mothers to see. The whole point is that mothers become the center of the world, not allowing their kids to choose the life they want to follow. It is so edgy, though, that no one is going to stick to this point of view.
I recommend not seeing this series. No, no, no.
