Very well directed coming of an age draama. The style somehow reminds of the french filmmakers like Gaspar Noe and Julia Ducornaus Titane. Sydänpeto is plays in the overlaping areas of thriller and drama.
Brilliant debut of Director Aino Suni. Who puts great atention to detail creating images that communicate powerfully. The work with Kerttu Hakkarainen on thr image renders a unforgrtable imaginery. The language is mature.
The movie has a vibrant sound design. With the music playing a strong role.
On the plot, the movie keep its intensity throughout 2/3 of the movie. With an ending somehow compromising the growing intensity.
Another success of Finnish Film. Cant wait to see Aino Sunis next feature.

The perfect word to describe this movie would be "captivating"! It takes us to another galaxy. The lighting, camera movements, and cinematography perfectly capture the emotions of the characters. The colors are blinding... love blinds Elina and Sofia, in fact. Living in the moment could mean feeling everything more intensely. That's what we see in Heartbeast (aka Pulse), an intense alternative coming-of-age romance in its nuances, its dances, in its words, and above all, in its actions, which I loved and recommend to any teenage and young adult audience! The performances of the two actresses are also amazing!

I immediately grasped the essence of the film, in which a toxic relationship is brought to the fore. Aino Suni's style really stands out from the rest, giving us a film that is quite remarkable and out of the ordinary. I really loved the atmosphere created by the music, which adds another dimension to the film, making it even more powerful. There's never a dull moment, as the evolution of the relationship between the two girls captivates the audience as it obsesses the two main characters. Elsi Sloane and Carmen Kassovitz are real revelations! It might be a little bit crazy but this is totally explained ine the last part of the movie thanks to Aino Suni.
