This film, and his presence in other projects, won Adam Deacon the 2012 BAFTA Rising Star Award, which is voted for by members of the public. Deacon has not really capitalized on this success, largely because of run-ins with the law and his public disclosure of his bipolar disorder, a condition previously known as manic depression, a mental disorder characterized by periods of depression and periods of abnormally elevated mood that each last from days to weeks. If the elevated mood is severe or associated with psychosis, it is called mania.
Maria (Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace) describes Tyrone (Richie Campbell) as "my little Mike Tyson". In real life Horgan-Wallace had dated Tyson.
Jaime Winstone and Adam Deacon have previously starred together in Dead Set (2008) and Kidulthood (2006).
