Where is the press for this refreshingly entertaining and believable show?
The premise of this show is a relatively simple one. Two strangers delayed by a cancelled plane, end up having a one night stand. Josh is motivated to do so by personal reasons still haunting him back home. Fola's initial lack of interest, finds herself soon game once the alcohol kick in, or was she just playing it cool and actually on the prowl for a hook up? So a night of passion is had which Josh soon regrets. Expecting to never to see each other again, the strangers oh so nearly on a plane, soon find their lives destined to cross again in the very near future.
I'm avoiding spoilers here.
The show is broken into ten minute shorts, all of which aim for the straight comical vein and while the narrative premise and subsequent setup is not especially original the show works largely thanks to two outstanding performances from the two leading actors. I give credit here to Casting Director Catherine Willis for her choices in that regard. The show would not have worked without them.
Josh. McGuire who plays Josh (Were no other character names available?) imbues his performance with comical empathy, playing a man in a relationship which he already knows is broken, yet like many people remains due to personal insecurities. The fact that he feels like a run of the mill bloke rather than the next Jamie Dornan on the casting breakdown, makes both the show and his performance all the more endearing.
The always solid Susie Wokoma (I predict a Bafta for her within 5 years) comes into her own here with the powers that be finally giving her a role that she can really sink her teeeth into which allows her to show her considerable range for both comedy and the shows more darkly humourous moments. Although Fola is both attractive and confident, it's great also to see her character has not been cast by some stick like waif and the show makes a strong point of showing beauty comes in many forms with all the characters in the show. These feel like real, believable people, people you might know on your street. With those points made I also want to add none of the casting nor characters here feel forced to serve any kind of social or box ticking agenda which of late has felt so obvious and forced at times that it detracts from the story. Everything here feels natural and organic, just as it should in a show of this quality.
It's a really strong show, with solid performances which feels painfully short at ten minutes per episode but clearly the writer has applied themselves as not a line of dialogue is wasted. This is a great show - give it a decent time slot and a second season please.
'Sorry, am I over sharing?' - Yeah I do that sometimes.

Refreshing
Loved the 10 minute format, and good fun series to enjoy
Had it all, romance, drama, comedy which is down to all the characters who were so likeable.

Great Comedy!
Cheaters
On the surface this was a collected of small 10 minute sketches about a random liaison. However the script was brilliant, nuanced and dynamic.
The issues examined were clever and varied, we had; boredom within relationships, how do you keep the magic alive when perhaps things have died a death, the frisson of new relationships and the forbidden fun of intrigue.
I loved the whole thing from start to finish, it wasn't perfect, there were some episodes that stretched credulity, but overall it was a great comic rollercoaster. The acting was top notch and the casting agent did a fabulous job.
I'm giving this a firm 7 outta 10 and I await a second series with eagerness!

Realistic
Loooove this show. If you ever have been in a sexually frustrated relationship, you can definitely connect with several situations here.
Great cast, acting and directing too.

Modern Life
Modern life is about juggling your relationship, your friends and work. Caught up in all of this is sex, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't. This is where we find Josh and Fola.
If you're a fan of Lovesick, Fleabag and Coupling then you'll like this. Plus it's got a modern soundtrack running through each episode and you'll be shazaming songs as you watch.

An absolute gem
Ever since I saw the amazing Susan Wokoma in Crazyhead, I knew that she was destined to be a future British institution, like Judy Dench.
The awkward but fantastic chemistry between her and Joshua McGuire, who often plays awkward and almost geeky mild characters elevates the show to a high level.
It oozes quality and get the maximum out of it's low budget.
Down to earth, gritty and definitely for adults only.
More please.

Loved It
It's almost impossible to tell a story about cheating but still create characters that are real, likeable and decent but Cheaters succeeded. Definitely recommend and hope there's more.

Great series
Binged this and loved the whole thing. I wasn't sure I was going to like the 10mins per episode but found it worked really well.
I think the acting is outstanding, particularly Susan Wokoma and Callie Cooke. As an aside I recently saw them both in Rules of the Game and again so good. I want to see more of them both particularly Susan with her own detective show!
The show is funny, touching and surprising. Impressive how it manages to convey so much in such a short amount of time and it does it very well. Hopefully there will be more.

Brilliant
This series is a refreshing sexcom split into 18 10 minute part. Which is genius in itself. Well written well acted and if I may say realistic. I'm racial prejudiced in so much as I love black women who are so passionate.

Susan Wokoma - brilliant!
Loved this series so much I binged it in 2 days and then started all over again. The writing is great and the characters so believable. Casting was perfect. I liked the 10 minute length and this seemed to contribute to each part of the story being tightly crafted.
Fantastic added value for me was the representation of sexy characters using actors of variety of body shapes. It was like breath of fresh air when the minor characters at Josh's work are given a sexy role within the narrative. I am not sure where I have seen this before with no other agenda attached and it resonated strongly with me. This progress and thoughtfulness is so good to see. More of this please!

Grossly underrated UK romcom and a good laugh!
Cheaters is a serious gem and that first episode is one of the best hooks ever! The complicated relationship between Josh and Fola is a fantastic and the comedy stems largely from their downright bizarre situation between them and their other halves. This show doesn't pull its punches, my jaw dropped with one scene in particular. It was a serious 'they really went there' moment.
What I loved the most about this series is how down to Earth it felt. None of the characters felt like caricatures, or looked like typical Hollywood movie stars. Just real people with real issues looking for an actual connection. However, I must say that this doesn't apply to Callie Cooke's Esther, who was so annoying and cartoonishly stupid that it was hard to empathize with her problems, even when the show does go lengths to try to make you do so, especially when she was the one who cheated on Josh in the first place!
The 10 minute episodes are a perfect length, but ironically, it has led me longing for more. Fingers crossed there's a season 2. I'm not much of a romcom fan, but hopefully Cheaters gets the recognition it deserves!

disturbing yet brilliant
I actually really enjoyed it despite it being slightly disturbing. The acting is absolutely brilliant. Very believable and you just can't stop watching it. Waiting for 2nd series!
