- On a dark night in a rural setting, a young yuppie named Hapgood "Hap" Jackson (Justin Long) is driving a young woman named Mina Murray (Kate Bosworth) home to her remote, castle-like estate. After arriving, they talk for a while about how they met at a bar in town earlier that evening and that Mina asked Hap to drive her home since she does not own or drive a car. After entering the house, the electric lights go out, in which Mina lights several candles and makes a fire in the large wood-burning fireplace in the sitting room. While talking some more, Hap tells Mina when they first met at the bar he was intrigued by her elegant manners and the white dress she is wearing which is not in the modern style of dress, but more of a 19th Century Victorian era design.
After Mina walks out of the sitting room to fix them drinks, Hap makes a phone call on his cell phone to a male friend to brag about his hookup. When Mina returns, she and Hap continue to engage in more talk about contents of cocktail drinks, as well as flirting and kissing each other. Mina begins unbuckling Hap's pants, clearly wanting to engage in a sexual act, when Mina's sister Lucy (Gia Crovatin) unexpectedly interrupts and the electric lights in the house come back on. Hap gets the idea that he might have a threesome with both women. Mina exits the room to get more drinks. Hap and Lucy have a private conversation.
After drinking a few too many cocktails, Hap briefly falls asleep. Hap has a nightmare where he is imprisoned in a cave with a pile of shoes indicating he is another in a long line of victims. He tries to escape from the cave, but falls and breaks both of his ankles. As he struggles, a shadow figure begins to approach him.
After he wakes, Lucy takes Hap on a tour of the manor from the long hallways and to the roof of the house to view the starry night sky. Mina eventually rejoins them and they return to the sitting room. Lucy and Mina propose exchanging ghost stories. Hap ad lib's a lame story about a man who has a threesome with two sisters... clearly revealing himself to be a sexist and a misogynist.
Lucy responds by telling a strange and disturbing tale of three wronged women who sought vengeance on men who raped them and who continue pursuing sexual predators across the world. Hap becomes further disturbed when Lucy mentions a cave like the one he saw in his nightmare. All of a sudden, a third sister, named Nora (Lucy Walters), enters the room. Realizing the women intend to teach him a morality lesson, Hap becomes combative and tries to leave.
When Hap tries to run out the front door, Mina suddenly reveals supernatural powers of super-speed by blocking his escape rout and attacks him by biting him on the neck and drawing blood. Finally revealing themselves as vampires, Mina, Lucy and Nora unravel their supernatural powers by producing their fangs which all three women attack and literally devour Hap on the foyer of the house... thus claiming him as their latest victim.
