Miguel Ferrer lost a battle with cancer today. He was 61.
Ferrer, who has starred on NCIS: Los Angeles as Owen Granger since 2012, was also set to reprise his role of FBI Agent Albert Rosenfeld on the upcoming Showtime revival of Twin Peaks.
Ferrer's first credited role was on an episode of Magnum, Pi in 1981 as Ensign Robert 'Bobby' Wickes, Usn.
From there, he had small parts not only in many films, but also more television shows, including CHiPs, Cagney and Lacey, Hill Street Blues Tj Hooker., Trapper John, Mc and Miami Vice.
It was in 1990 when Ferrer became Twin Peaks Agent Rosenfeld, and over the next two years took the lead in three other series, including Shannon's Deal, Broken Badges and On the Air.

Heady! Hugh Laurie (Arthur Christmas, 101 Dalmations), Raffey Cassidy (she played Young Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman) and Thomas Robinson ("The Protector") also star alongside George Clooney.
Robertson is one of the stars of October comedy Delivery Man but we still love her from CW's "Life Unexpected."

Lifetime has decided to cancel their Sunday night drama, The Protector, after one season on the air. The decision doesn't come as a surprise since the writing has been on the wall for awhile. While the Ally Walker series has some devoted fans, the ratings just weren't high enough for a second season.
The Protector follows Gloria Sheppard (Walker), a single mother and detective in the Lapd Robbery-Homicide Division. A recent divorcee and single mother, Gloria has to perform her duties as a homicide detective while taking care of her young sons, Nick (Sage Ryan) and Leo (Thomas Robinson). They all move in with her brother, Davey Sheppard (Chris Payne Gilbert), and he helps her raise the boys. At work, Gloria works on some of Los Angeles' most high profile crimes with her partner, Detective Michelle Dulcett (Tisha Campbell-Martin). They work alongside officer Ramon "Romeo" Rush (Terrell Tilford),...

Though it premiered to a decent 1.9 million viewers in its first-season premiere back in June, Lifetime Ally Walker drama "The Protector" subsequently slid in the Nielsen ratings - to the tune of less than 1 million viewers in its most recent episode (in a new Monday time slot). Sad news for the (very) few folks who tuned into Lifetime’s The Protector this summer: The cabler has decided not to order a second season.
The Protector, which starred Sons of Anarchy‘s Ally Walker as a single mom juggling her personal life and her career as a Los Angeles Police Department homicide detective, debuted to soft numbers back in June — particularly given its strong Army Wives lead-in – and failed to garner an audience to call its own.
Tisha Campbell-Martin (Martin) and Miguel Ferrer (Crossing Jordan) co-starred on the cop drama.
Our sister site Deadline first reported the cancellation news.

Tisha Campbell-Martin knows that casual TV watchers remember her from her many roles on half-hour comedies — perhaps, most notably, her role as the wife of Damon Wayans on My Wife and Kids, a character she played for five years.

Entertainment Weekly: What can you tell me about the The Protector?
Tisha Campbell-martin: For one, Ally Walker is amazing to work with. She’s been doing Sons of Anarchy and Profiler but now she’s back with this. For me,...

Skid Row featured in Emmy-nominated Bold And The Beautiful
It was a rare intersection of the extremes of glitz and grit in this sprawling city — both the nation's entertainment Mecca and its homeless capital, and quite a departure in both style and substance for the 24-year-old CBS melodrama.
"We're what you could call a camp romance novel," said actress Susan Flannery, whose character experiences an epiphany in the episodes. "We don't do big social issues."
The episodes have earned nine Daytime Emmy nominations, including writing, directing, acting and outstanding drama series. The award ceremony will be held June 19 in Las Vegas.
Two of the episodes, which resemble documentaries filmed at a Skid Row park and a shelter, are a particular measure of pride for the cast, crew and executive producer-head writer Bradley Bell.
"It was unlike anything we'd done in 24 years," Bell said. "We were all transformed by this. We...

"I'm not a sociopath," Walker jokes with TVGuide.com of her latest character, homicide detective Gloria Sheppard. "That's always a plus."

Tisha Campbell-Martin is a veteran of sitcoms like 'Martin' and 'My Wife and Kids,' but she's happy to be getting back to her acting roots in drama on the new Lifetime show 'The Protector.' She spoke about the chemistry between herself and star Ally Walker Friday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC). Walker plays a single mother and Lapd detective, and Campbell-Martin plays her partner.
Campbell-Martin acknowledged that while audiences might think of her as a comic actress, she got her start in more serious roles. "That is what I started out doing, was a lot of drama and musical theatre," she said, "So this is going back to my roots. But you know I'm going to slip some comedy in there."
As far as the chemistry goes, Kit Hoover called 'The Protector' a "bromance for women." Billy Bush...
