Real shame that this series got canceled prematurely. Loved the concept. I just think none of people stayed with it. It is very much a slow burn TV show and has taken 10 episodes to really find its groove. Really thought that the two leads had really good chemistry. But now we will never find out how the series and how Charlie and. Emma will stay together and get out of their predicament. I saw this series as a modern Robin Hood and very similar to the show white color starring Matt Blum. But here's hoping that maybe a nether net work will pick it up for a second season. I think one reason why the company you keep failed with yes, due to poor ratings, but also maybe prematurely canceled due to the writers strike that's going on right now.

This reminds me of White Collar. A criminal helping the authorities while getting in and out of his own trouble.
The production quality is excellent, and Milo Ventimiglia, who some might remember from Heroes, has an awesome chemistry with Catherine Haena Kim.
The humor is subtle and well crafted. The drama is intense from the get go, and the acting is superb, even from supporting characters.
Would love to see Milo being "clever". For now, he is just playing an amazing thief, but would be great to see him use a bit of behavioral psychology and manipulation.
The family of con artists is a fun little opportunity for some family drama, but it is Milo and Cat that steals the show.

Really got into this show. The actors are great, good chemistry and storyline could go far. Disappointed that abc cancelled a show with such potential. Is there a way for the network to change their mind? I also feel like there was a lot of good / real life issues brought up that would be great to shine a light on. Government, politics, money, corruption, big business / capitalism and so on. I also the Asian American representation here too. Catherine is great, Milo and his family have heart so you really find yourself rooting for them, and Felisha keeps you guessing. Wondering if Hulu would be able to pick the show up for streaming??

Watched the first episode and it has definitely piqued my interest. Love Milo Ventimiglia and seeing him in a character which he's comfortable in and kind of a version of him is very entertaining. Kim's character Emma has yet to surprise me, hopefully they give her and her family a little more background.
Love the Nicoletti's- perfect casting and love Shaylee Mansfield as Ollie. Daphne is intriguing as a villain and badass female. The romance is intriguing, but... it's a bit too bland at first glance.
All in all, interesting show- just has to pick up speed, great storylines and characters but needs to expand upon it.... Only time will tell if ABC has a hit.

About time... no stupid social media and political junk in it so far. Tired of all the lies being thrown into TV shows these days. That said the characters are likable so far. Lets face it Hollywood was built on Action, Mystery and Romance and all the ingredients are present in this series so far. After watching the first show I felt as if I could binge watch 12 more right then. Kim is amazing plays a super cool character laid back agent who finds herself getting wrapped up in Ventimiglia 's family drama. But is sound like Kim may have drama of her own. Really hope this series continues for a few more seasons. Time will tell. See you in the seats.

I wanted this show to be a great new show, but its just ok. It is missing something. Leads are great , don't particularly like his mother, she does not do Italian well at all, none of them do really but I think sister is a good character and actress. Niece is a cliché added on. Plots are sexy and intriguing at times but then also get a little goofy all of a sudden. Not sure what I am watching, it doesn't flow or come together for me but I can't put my finger on what is lacking . A mash up of Leverage, White collar and another show about a detective figuring out her lover is a con man she is hunting. Better than a lot of shows on, but Overall still on the disappointing side.

Love it! Check it out for yourself!
Milo Ventimiglia and Catherine Haena Kim rock the screen in this series. The family of criminals trying to get out to pay one more debt and a law enforcement agent coming together at the exact same locations with 2 completely different reasons but they are still taking down the same people. It's just a dream to watch. I really enjoy this show. Reminds me of the show The Catch with Miriam Enos. In The Catch it was burglars and private detectives coming together to make on screen lava hot scenes with passion and purpose . If you like the dynamics of good guys and bad guys coming together and falling in love, you will absolutely adore this show!
Also, the show brings in the storyline of a second language that many productions do not have. It incorporates deaf actors which I think is ingenious and extremely enticing.
Good luck to The Company You Keep! I'm a fan and routing for all of you.

Con man Charlie Nicoletti (Milo Ventimiglia) comes from a family of cons. Birdie Nicoletti (Sarah Wayne Callies) is his bossy older sister. Fran (Polly Draper) and Leo (William Fichtner) are their parents. They con mobster Patrick Maguire and get conned in turn by Charlie's girlfriend. Daphne Finch (Felisha Terrell) is Maguire's brilliant criminal mastermind secret-daughter behind the throne. Maguire gets arrested and is demanding the Nicoletti family to repay him back and more. CIA agent Emma Hill (Catherine Haena Kim) comes from a political Korean family and finds her boyfriend cheating once again. At a hotel bar, Charlie and Emma hit it off over their mutual bad breakups. They have a fling while keeping their day jobs secret. It turns out that they both have the same enemy, Daphne Finch.
This show has potential. I like the premise. It has some of that Ventimiglia sexiness. I like all the characters. Maybe there are too many characters and too many sections of the show. It has criminal section. It has a family section for the Nicolettis. It has the CIA section. Finally, it has the Hill family section. The show should probably lose the Hill family section. It's juggling too many balls. Emma already has the CIA and she should spend more time there. The start is a bit complicated, but it quickly works itself out. Low viewership has the show canceled after only one half season.

For a non MA-rated show, this one is better than most in the category compared to others I have viewed recently. The premise so far is a family of con artists goes after unlikable wealthy targets, for reasons you will see if you watch it. Only a few episodes so far, but the quality cast sells this, and they play it up well together, specifically the Charlie/Birdie/Leo family. Good show for William Fichtner fans, as even though a support character, he is fun here, as expected. The agent romance mixed into the equation is a familiar trope, but good writing and a touch of intrigue is carrying it along just fine. It exercises reasonable restraint for better engagement and doesn't rely too much on the tacky cut-edit action nor overuse of hi-tech buffoonery gimmicks, at least not so far. I find that I am curious and interested to see how each upcoming episode turns out. Hopefully it will keep its momentum.

I initially rated this an 8 a few episodes in, but wanted to wait for the season finale to review. Although the show is watchable and keeps you interested enough to want to watch the next episode, overall the entire season felt more underwhelming than exciting, and why I dropped my rating to a 7 from an 8. The actors weren't the issue, I felt all casting and performances were spot on. However the writing felt too loose and aloof, and the directing was too focused on relationship issues rather than the suspenseful drama. The sappy and borderline cringeworthy score/music that accompanied any romantic interactions took away from the dramatics that followed. This series had difficulty establishing a tone, and started to feel like I was watching a cliched basic cable television wannabe drama. Hopefully next season becomes more focused, serious and develops some attitude, with less sappiness, cliches and second-rate dramatics.

Very pleased with the show so far! It's nice to see something that isn't overly raunchy or over the top violent now days. I looked forward to watching the newest episodes on hulu first thing in the morning feeding my newborn. I do wish that there was just a little bit more suspense and that the threats were a bit more intimidating or realistic, like I know at the end of each episode that everything is going to turn out okay, but I'm not going to be too picky and be happy that this show is something I feel comfortable watching and have one of my kids wonder in and watch with me. Here's hoping for more season!

Sadly I'm glad that ABC put this show out of its misery. This is a great cast who had all done stellar work in other series (Colony, This is US, Thirty Something --yes, I'm old:) and to their credit, continued to be engaging in this show. The problem is we never knew exactly what is this show supposed to be: it's way too light for a drama even a light drama because it's totally disconnected from reality and it's ridiculous (a beautiful henchwoman from Stanford leading a band of killers). So even if it's trying to imitate something like USA networks "Burn Notice" where the protagonists always outsmart everyone else and there are no real stakes, it ends up just being head scratching and monotonously time filing.
It's definitely not a romantic show either. Even though my Korean-born wife was a big fan of "This is us" so she loves watching Milo smooching a Korean beauty who just happens to work for the CIA and makes us wonder what does the CIA have to do with domestic crime that should be the sole province of the FBI and a handful of other domestic law enforcement agencies? But that's just one of a dozen questions that are never answered for us as the show treats us like morons.
Why is this Asian American family named "Hill?" That's something that needs to be explained. Also in the political arena why is a US Senate candidate for the state of Washington hanging out in Baltimore, MD or around the DC area when he needs to be back in the Pacific Northwest campaigning? And then when we get to what's supposed to be a blackmail scandal. The writers roll out something that's so weak and uninteresting even a third-rate political Blogger would not bother to mention it; something about an affair some washed up politician had three decades ago. Don't the writers know where we're at politically in this country right now? We are basically immune to scandal. This bombshell isn't even a firecracker.
Anyway to get back to the central plot and tone of the show the writers and producers should have made-up their mind to either go full fantasy like ABC 's "Once Upon a time" and have elves and Pixie dust included or grounded the show a little bit more in reality like Netflix "The Diplomat" which has some snappy dialogue and some real bureaucracy but at the same time giving us a lot of made-for-TV poetic license. Anyway all of these actors are top notch and this will just be a blip on their resumes, and we wish them the best in future projects which are hopefully a little bit better thought out and executed.

The idea is good. But, they could have done more. The actors are all mediocre TV actors. With a couple of exceptions. William Fichtner and Milo Ventimiglia. The actors that plays his love interest Emma is bland. She has no personality and the absolutely zero magnetism between them.
Honestly, they could have done more. They story lines in the various episodes are all predictable. There really is nothing about the show that stands out. I wanted to like it. But, it really is just a vanilla show with vanilla actors doing vanilla scripts. Even the two actors I really like have no hope of saving this. They clearly are doing it for a paycheque. This does not deserve a season two.

I have been looking forward to this show for quite some time, mostly because I'm a fan of both lead actors.
But after watching the promos I was seriously afraid it would be too cliche, a criminal and a law enforcement officer falling in love but after the first episode I don't feel like it was too much cliche.
It's a bit different and I'm looking forward to see future episodes.
With The Blacklist entering its last season now hopefully this can develop into a good replacement for me, I certainly have higher hopes for it than I had lets say two weeks ago after having just seen promos about it.

There are shows that fall very similar in line with this one that have been released within the last 1-2 years. This one shows more promise than others. Better acting and story telling. Ever show has faults and this one has its own. But I binge 5 in a row without losing interest and found myself engaged in what was going on. The show has gone good at changing speed throughout just like life and just like other great shows. Spies, cons, stakes, family, love, and crime wrapped up together can make for great entertainment. I am looking for to finishing off the first season. I don't doubt my review of this show will change.

Like it or don't like it, but stop whining about how you can't believe a CIA agent could fall for a thief...IT'S ENTERTAINMENT...if you can't suspend belief for a few minutes, you should spend your time elsewhere! As the Joker said, "why so serious?" So far so good. Only two eps in, but enjoying so far...good character actors, lots of eye candy...just waiting for the car chases and a bit of gun play. Nice to see so many powerful women in both good guy and bad guy rolls...I grow weary of constantly seeing men in these rolls.
Someone mentioned the unwatchable True Lies. Now THERE's a disappointment. I couldn't make it past the first commercial break.

Not sure how believable this story is where two people meet in a bar and fall in love? She's CIA and he's a con man! Really???
Another hit for Milo Ventimiglio! Love this show however not crazy about "Emma". Really happy that her and Charlie aren't together. No chemistry!
Love the premise of the show including most of the actors except Catherine Haena Mim (no offense).
Love the family dynamics and "business" they are involved in. Very clever! Love that this show has actress Shaylee Mansfield! She is incredible! Great job with the portrayal of the cognitive decline in the Dad's character. Something so many families encounter.
Like the direction of Charlie's attraction to. Daphne! Hope she outsmarts her Father and brother!

After watching Sarah Wayne Callies in just about everything she has ever appeared in it was only natural to give this a try. Loved Milo in this is us.
It's a family show with a lot of fun. Less guns more brains and subtle messages of stealing from the tax avoiding rich to those who are not.
Drama, romance, tension & comedy all rolled into every episode.
Intrigued to learn more about daphne & Birdies back stories. As well as see more from Ollie, Birdies deaf daughter for whom the whole cast have learned ASL.
Incredible show, Exceptional cast.
If you liked Prison Break or This is Us you'll definitely enjoy this!

The Company You Keep is an original ABC series about a con man played by Milo Ventimoglia who meets a CIA agent played by the beautiful Catherine Haena Kim at a hotel bar. At first they hide their true identities from each other but by the end they work with each other to bring down a criminal empire. The couple have a great onscreen chemistry along with each of their families played by William Fichtner, James Saito, Freda Foh Shen, Polly Draper, Sarah Wayne Callies as well as Shaylee Mansfield who is a young deaf actress in Hollywood. Timothy V Murphy and Barry Sloane play father and son drug dealing and weapons distribution empire from Ireland. Felisha Terrell played the outcast daughter to Murphy who works with the CIA to bring the family business to an end and for her to gain control for herself. Each episode the Nicoletti family run their family business and run con games to pay back Felisha for the money their stole. Love the series but although some of the stuff they do is hard to believe. This is more a love story than a con series. Definitely check it out.
For a while, I have just felt like I must be totally weird. Then after I got married, I thought maybe my husband and I were a team of weird. It seems like so many shows that we really really like, get canceled after one season. What is the other part of the world looking for, exactly? Because there's so many shows that are the same, on TV that get season after season. Yet, there are some super shows that get canceled for what, being great! Who is making these decisions? Because once I looked at the reviews that this show got, they're higher than another show that just got renewed for an 11th season. Decision-makers please pay better attention.

I really enjoy the show, but there are too many cast members and too many subplots/storylines. If they could tighten it up a bit, the show will really take off.
There are only so many characters you can care about, and they push it. Convoluted plots eventually wear on an audience, and I don't want to see that happen here. I think they will make a few changes n the next season. The action sequences are very well done for a network series.
Really great idea for a series. Overall, great acting. I was unfamiliar with both lead actors before watching. Glad I tuned in . Keep the focus on the two stars as much as possible.

I've watched a couple of episodes now and just trying to hang in there. I watched initially because I'm a fan of Milo Ventimiglia and of William Fichtner. I do think the writing is good and enjoy the heists carried out by the family of crime. Maybe if more planning went into the lead couple, Charlie and Emma. So far, they just seem to have started with a forced humorous meeting but somehow ended up in bed for the weekend or whatever. Just no romance, tension or build-up. Purely an emotionless physical attraction and I don't feel the chemistry there. I'll give it a little longer and hope for the best.

At the very beginning i was not feel anything watching this show. My first thought was the main lead, i did not get aby chemistry between the Main Leads (Milo and Kim). The scripts were cheesy at times and the acting was not memorable at all. At first, i felt this show was lacking but slowly as we get more fun stuff in the show, i was hooked. From episode 3 onwards, the chemistry between the casts have improved, the acting and the scripts also were improved a lot. The show just keep getting better and better and made me craving for more. Overall, i give this show a solid 8. Its promising and i cannot wait for the next episode to come.
ABC, you doomed this excellent series.
By airing "The Company You Keep " late Sunday nights (instead of in prime time), you never gave it a chance with intelligent viewers who get up early Monday morning for work. Many early Monday morning risers never had a chance to even notice that this fine series existed. The cast is excellent, the chemistry between the characters and story line are interesting and and I couldn't wait for each new episode (to watch these complicated characters relating to each other throughout their differing, and often opposing, individual objectives.) The Company You Keep is SO much more interesting and enjoyable to intelligent viewers than many of the series ABC decided to keep. ABC doomed this wonderful series by airing it in a time slot where many potential enthusiastic viewers are preparing for, or are already retired for the night in preparation for a busy work week.
Why don't you give it a chance by airing it mid week in prime time, where intelligent viewers could notice it and enthusiasticsly support it? Put it in prime time in place of one of the mediocre mind-numbing programs that you did decide to renew; or sell it to another platform to do it justice and give it (and us viewers )a chance to experience and enjoy the unfolding of the rest of this interesting storyline and the chemistry of the complicated relationships between these intriguing characters portrayed by this excellent cast.
