With the season 3 tagline “Fight For The World You Want”, it seems fitting that the new trailer for The Man in High Castle is set to Lxandra’s cover of U2’s “In the Name Of Love” (the first time it’s been covered commercially) as the new season brings forth flashes of a new America and a percolating political resistance.
As seen in the new trailer, Season 3 is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video Oct. teases footage of “a new America” and explores themes of hope and heroism as the Reich seeks to unlock access to the multiverse and interdimensional domination.
Based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning 1962 alternate history novel, The Man in the High Castle explores what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II. This third season based in part on two chapters of an uncompleted sequel to his 1962 book that Dick worked on.

Former Love & Hip Hop: New York star Cyn Santana has a message for mothers-to-be who are struggling to accept the changes their bodies are undergoing. After followers began criticizing the changes they perceived in the size of her nose during her pregnancy, Santana decided to speak up.

This is the tour that would mark an historic occasion. Not only is it the 30th anniversary of U2’s phenomenally successful The Joshua Tree album, but the third time I was to see the band live. Yep, the hat-trick was in sight in London on Sunday, July 9, and as Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby, loomed large, it still wasn’t quite sinking in.
To be honest, I’d only decided late on in April to try and purchase tickets for this landmark tour. On the subject of punctuality, my apologies for only just getting around to writing this review – the traditional U2 withdrawal symptoms have only just left me. The Irish rockers’ previous two albums, 2014’s Songs of Innocence and 2009’s No Line on the Horizon, had left me somewhat underwhelmed. We’ve already heard an unreleased song from the Dutch DJ dubbed “Scared To Be Lonely” that was unveiled during his stint at Ava Nye 2016, and now his end of the year mix has hit the internet for our listening pleasure.

A number of songs from the producer’s Ade week marathon surface in the tracklist, like “Spotless” with Jay Hardway and “Welcome” with Julian Jordan. Over the holiday weekend, Martin Garrix took the opportunity to premiere some new material during his stint at Ava Nye 2017 in Yangon, Myanmar. Luckily, a fan in the audience captured some video of the performance, giving us our first preview of the tune in question. The new song is believed to feature UK vocalist Dua Lipa, and is being referred to as “Scared To Be Lonely” in the absence of an official track title.
“Scared To Be Lonely” follows in a similar vein as “In The Name Of Love,” pairing up poppy female vocals with a lush future bass backdrop. The video clip runs for a little over a minute and a half, giving us a decent teaser of the forthcoming song, kicking off with a stripped back vocal verse. From there, Garrix takes the track into the drop, with sublime synth chords layered over crashing, halftime rhythms.

Bebe Rexha had quite the night during MTV’s Europe Music Awards. The singer hosted the show, performed her Martin Garrix hit, “In The Name of Love,” and even got around to performing her recent solo single, “I Got You,” too. It was a lot to handle, but Rexha pulled it off with ease.
During her first ever “I Got You” performance, the singer shined vocally, even if she had a bit of a strange stage set up. Straying away from flashy lights and pyrotechnics, she kept it pretty basic by performing with nothing other than a giant “U” shaped object with eyes and a lot of fur. We don’t exactly understand, but we won’t question it either.
In more exciting news, before her big night kicked off, Rexha took to social media to finally announce what that mysterious album title acronym stood for. Known as A.Y.

Bebe Rexha has had quite the eclectic career since hitting the mainstream back in 2010. It actually started in the least likely of places: with the help of a guy from a pop-punk band. When Fall Out Boy disbanded in 2009, bassist Pete Wentz went on to form the electronic group, Black Cards, with Rexha, but it was cut short by Rexha’s departure a few years later. It seemed to have worked out for all parties though, considering Fall Out Boy’s huge comeback and Rexha’s foray into a solo career. Since then, we’ve seen her with rappers, with DJs, and with pop stars, and now we’re finally getting a solo record of her own.
Titled A.Y.F. (which is currently an unknown acronym), Rexha’s debut solo album follows up her 2015 Ep, I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, and according to Billboard, it’s set for release on January 17th.

Where Garrix’s post-Spinnin’ months afforded him relatively more creative liberties, however, partnering with one of the “big four” labels will surely place added pressure on him to ascribe to a limited style.
In an official release, Garrix said:

How the Love Actually producer guided the gay-footballers chamber piece from Royal Court sell-out to BFI Flare opening-night film.
Last night (Mar 16), The Pass opened the 30th edition of the BFI’s long-running Lgbt film festival - now called Flare - at the Odeon Leicester Square.
As well as being the first Flare opener to premiere at Odeon’s flagship cinema in 10 years, it also marked a return for Duncan Kenworthy, producer of Four Weddings And A Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually and The Eagle among others, who has premiered four films at the venue.
For Kenworthy, opening BFI Flare with The Pass was an optimal result for a film he self-funded and produced entirely under the radar, with the understanding that if it wasn’t a creative success, he could decide not to unveil it to the wider world. Fortunately, reviews for the Ben A. Williams-directed adaptation of John Donnelly’s play about gay footballers...

20 years ago today, “Jumanji” had its theatrical release. Though the film had lukewarm reaction from critics, it was a box office success and has remained a favorite among family adventure movies. The film is based on Chris Van Allsburg’s children’s book about a game that’s “a young people's jungle adventure especially designed for the bored and restless.” It’s at once terrifying (those monkeys!) and funny (plenty of laughs supplied by the late Robin Williams) and touching (the relief and joy in Williams’ face when he realizes this nightmare of a game is finally over). A remake is in the works and set for a Christmas 2016 release. Other notable December 15 happenings in pop culture history: • 1939: “Gone With the Wind” premiered at Loew’s Grand Theater in Atlanta, the climax of three days of festivities in the Georgia city to celebrate the film’s debut. • 1966: Walt Disney died in Burbank,...

BBC One has ordered a contemporary musical series titled "Stop! In the Name of Love," that will tell the interwoven stories of "six smart, thirty-something women" and will incorporate the iconic sounds of Motown. Specifically, songs from the record label will be woven into the plot, with characters singing at key moments within the spoken narrative. Executive producer Duncan Kenworthy said: “I’m hugely excited about this opportunity to integrate some of the coolest songs ever written into a big, bold, diverse drama about contemporary love lives, and delighted that the BBC has commissioned it. Some music is so famous that it’s already woven into our lives. 'Stop! In...

Russell T Davies is going to tackle Shakespeare - he's adapting A Midsummer Night's Dream for BBC One.
Davies will return to Cardiff - home of Doctor Who - for the 90-minute production, to air in 2016, it was announced at this year's Edinburgh International TV Festival.
"I've wanted to make this for the BBC for my entire adult life - and only the BBC can put on a play like this, for all the family, smack-bang in the heart of prime-time," the award-winning writer said.
"With a riot of prosthetics, CGI, magic and action, it needs the brilliant Doctor Who team in Cardiff to bring it to life."
A new six-part series from 12 Years a Slave filmmaker Steve McQueen has also been formally announced - the as-yet-untitled drama will follow a West Indian community in the heart of London across three decades, beginning in 1968.

I finally did it: I saw U2 in concert.
I may have waited too long to catch the band in its prime, but its 37 years of experience -- without a personnel change -- and undiluted passion have made it one of the biggest concert draws for decades now, even if recent albums have been uneven in inspiration.
The current tour, with Thursday night being the next-to-last of eight shows at Madison Square Garden, is promoting last year's Songs of Innocence, which I mostly like. It figured that the annoying album opener, "The Miracle of Joey Ramone" (I wrote that it "panders like a commercial") would also be the concert opener (unless you want to give that honor to Patti Smith's recording "People Have the Power," which at all those shows is the song the quartet has walked on to, coming through the audience and climbing onstage). But then, pandering...

The 18th Puchon International Film Festival (PiFan)’s Network of Asian Fantastic Films (Naff) wrapped tonight with top Bucheon Award going to Dev Benegal’s Indian project Dead, End Or: How I Learned To Stop Living And Love Being Officially Dead.
Jury head Michael Favelle said: “Dead, End may be seen as a surprising choice given that it’s not an immediately obvious, traditional fantastic film in the way fantastic film festivals are known for. It is, however, a brilliant satirical surrealist comedy of a place that no one has seen before.”
The comedy is about a man who is declared dead by a shady government official and fights along with other officially “dead” people to get back their “lives”.
Upon accepting his award with the KW15m ($14,790) cash prize, Benegal said of the PiFan/Naff experience: “It’s been just memorable. So I hope we can go back with this memory, and come back...

Tony Jordan, the creator of hit BBC1 show Hustle, is to produce a new TV musical drama centred around Motown anthems.
The ten-part series, titled Stop! In the Name of Love, will follow a group of thirty-somethings searching for love and friendship, with musical numbers performed within the narrative.
Jordan explained that Stop! offers "something very different from any other show on television", and that the series "truly reflects the multi-cultural world we've become, showing that human emotions and experiences are universal".
"The music of Motown is iconic," the former EastEnders writer continued. "The musical arrangements and cutting-edge choreography will give us a uniquely modern take on a genre of music that is truly timeless."
The series will be produced by Jordan's production company Red Planet Pictures, with Duncan Kenworthy as co-executive producer.

Even when The X Factor tries, it fails.
After last week's questionable eliminations, the judges apparently sensed something was wrong and wanted to fix it. So they decided to bring back a "wild card" contestant – someone the judges think deserves a second chance after getting kicked off.

For a second, there was a glimmer of hope that they'd pick fan favorite Danie Geimer, the Girls team member who so clearly didn't deserve to go home. But nope. Why do something that actually makes sense?...

Like that expensive cheese in your fridge that unexpectedly presents with a patch of furry blue mold, The X Factor is the reality competition that asks the eternal question: To toss the whole package into the trash compactor with a satisfying whirr — or to press the Ctrl+Scrape+Eat button.
Tonight’s Season 3 Top 13 performance night spent two hours framing said debate: There was the awfulness we’ve come to expect from Fox’s “other” singing competition: Mario Lopez’s automatonic hosting style; the overblown production — including a premature Gospel chorus! — for selected “chosen” contestants; seizure-inducing lighting; Paulina Rubio’s comic ineptitude.

A big winner at the Astaire Awards this year was Broadway smash “Motown,” which took home honors for choreographers Patricia Wilcox and Warren Adams (they tied with “Pippin” choreographer Chet Walker) and performer Eric Lajuan Summers, who received the award for outstanding male dancer in a Broadway show. A jukebox musical of Motown hits that range from “Dancing in the Street” to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Motown” wouldn’t seem to need much in the way of choreography given that Diana Ross and the Supremes and the rest of the record label artists already created the steps. Not so, according to Wilcox. “There are certain iconic moves,” she says. For instance, you can’t have someone singing “Stop! In the Name of Love” without the hand in the air. “I think if you put in one of those iconic moves for those groups, then you can essentially do...

The last issue of Geoff Johns’ epic tour as writer on “Green Lantern”, a run lasting over six years and multiple series, can’t be anything but personal for me, hence my breaking Sos protocol to write this review in the dreaded first-person.

Diana Ross has left her mark on nearly every genre of music including disco, soul, jazz, pop and dance, as well as the mediums of film and television (who could forget The Wiz and trash classic Double Platinum?) With well over one hundred millions records sold, I assume it would be fair play to class Ms. Ross as a legend.
You would be hard pressed to find anyone that was not familiar with at least a couple of her songs – whether it be from her years in Motown girl group, The Supremes boasting such hits as ‘Baby Love’ and ‘Stop! In the Name of Love’ or her diverse and equally successful solo years.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Diana Ross, who today turns 69 (March 26).
Ross rose to fame in the 1960s as part of the iconic R&B trio The Supremes ("Where Did Our Love Go?", "Stop, In The Name of Love!"), who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
In a career that spans four decades, the wild-haired diva won numerous Grammy Awards and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1973, for portraying Billie Holiday in "Lady Sings the Blues."
Ross was married twice, has five children, and is the alternate guardian of Michael Jackson's three children.
