Netflix France’s campaign for Season 4 of the popular UK series, “Sex Education” was announced winner of Series Mania’s Best Marketing Initiative Award. Launched last year, the prize recognizes a company’s promotional efforts to consumers (B2C) as well as initiatives by producers and distributors to raise awareness of a show among commissioners and buyers (B2B).

The jury included executives from BBC Creative Studios, Inédite Agency, and Make It Happen Studios, along with the Series Mania team. Marketing Manager Sarah Izbornicki accepted the award on behalf of Netflix France.

“Sex Education” is a British teen comedy-drama series on Netflix, crafted by Laurie Nunn and starring Asa Butterfield as its lead character, Otis. Set in the fictional town of Moordale, it delves into the lives of teens and adults navigating a myriad of personal challenges, frequently revolving around sexual intimacy.

Written and produced by Glynn Turner, the film is directed by Rudolf Buitendach who’s first film Dark Hearts was recently acquired by Vertical Entertainment for Us theatrical distribution.

Selling Isobel is based on the true story of a pilates teacher who is kidnapped and used as a slave in the sex trade. She struggles for her life in the hopes of being reunited with her husband and young daughter.

Femme features interviews with many internationally recognized speakers including Sharon Stone, Marianne Williamson, Gloria Steinem, Nobel Peace laureates Shirin Ebadi and Maired Maguire, Maria Bello, Angela Davis, Maria Conchita Alonso, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Mary Buffett, Rickie Lee Jones, Jean Houston and Dr. Sue Morter. Edgy thriller Dark Hearts, starring X-Men: First Class actor Lucas Till, has been nominated for the Best International Feature award at the Raindance Film Festival 2012.

The new movie, from first-time feature director Rudolf Buitendach, will have its world premiere at the festival this Saturday, September 29, at 8.30pm.

Till's other credits include Battle Los Angeles and Walk The Line. In X-Men: First Class, the rising star (pictured above and below) played energy-blasting mutant Alex Summers (aka Havok), the brother of Scott Summers (Cyclops).
