"A crew of murderous pirates is coming!" Disney has revealed their new official trailer for Skeleton Crew, a brand new entirely original Star Wars series about kids mainly meant for kids to enjoy. It's pretty much The Goonies, but set in the geeky sci-fi Star Wars universe, which actually looks kind of awesome. Ready for launch in December. The new series is created by Jon Watts (of the recent Spider-Man movies) and writer Christopher Ford. Four rough & tumble kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The series follows along as the kids get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy and have to find their way home, meeting unlikely allies & enemies along the way. Zendaya has made some cool money in her career, beginning as a child artist and then fully transitioning into an acclaimed actress. In 2024, she has an Emmy and a Golden Globe to her name, makes millions per role, and is dating one of the most handsome young men in Hollywood. Her massive net worth is very close to the money her Spider-Man co-star and boyfriend, Tom Holland, makes.

As per multiple reports, the Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Way Home; Avengers: Endgame) has landed the lead role in Christopher Nolan's next epic movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting in early 2025, with an eye on a prime Summer 2026 release date.
The fan-favorite actor was reportedly at the top of Nolan's wish list for this project and will now co-star with Academy Award-winner Matt Damon (Jason Bourne; Ford v Ferrari), who is set to reunite with Nolan for the third time in his career, after the sci-fi thriller Interstellar and last year's Best Picture winner Oppenheimer.
Plot details on Nolan's latest film are being kept under wraps, but the film is rumored to be an action film and The Hollywood Reporter claims the setting is not present day. However, whether the film is set in the past or in the future remains a mystery.

Tom Holland had tasted fame at an unprecedented level at a very early age. For the British star, Hollywood was his playground sandbox and movies were his medium of first expression. But with such an exposed world also comes its pitfalls which, in the case of Tinsel Town, often claim a very steep price.
In the years since his Marvel fame, Holland found the price was asking too much of his sanity, peace, and mental health. His function as a celebrity in modern society was getting increasingly demanding, from signing autographs and taking pictures to bearing the brunt of dissenting fans and tabloids who could not comprehend his need to log out of social media.

Holland first opened up about his struggles with alcohol in a podcast last year. Sony and Marvel Reportedly Negotiating a New Spider-Man Deal - Main Image
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has a very weird place in the Marvel universe, in that he’s a character that’s being loaned out to Marvel by Sony Pictures—who owns the rights to Spider-Man and all the characters associated with him.
Though Spider-Man gets to appear in his own movies and make cameos in team-up films like Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, it looks like he could be showing up a bit more down the line—that is, if this rumor turns out to be true.
More Spider-Man in the MCU Thanks to New Sony and Marvel Studios Deal
According to insider Daniel Rpk (via @HollywoodHandle), Sony and Marvel are currently working on a new deal that would ‘allow Spider-Man to appear in other MCU projects’. No furtherdetails have been revealed, but with Holland’s Spider-Man...

The Ben 10 cartoon series that started the franchise is a childhood favorite of many who have, although grown up, but never grew out of it. Since 2005, the aeries have kept fans hooked and continue to be an amazing addition to pop culture. While talks of a live-action movie had been ongoing for years, it was recently announced that Warner Bros. has canceled the plan.

For many fans, the news came with a sigh of relief. After all, most of us remember the disaster that was the previous live-action projects. But there is another group, who might be a little bummed about the announcement. Many fans wanted Tom Holland to play the grown-up version of Ben Tennyson, the protagonist of the series. So they were put out about the fact that they wouldn’t get to see Holland with an Omnitrix. But maybe this cancelation is a blessing in disguise,...

Tom Holland may have started late as an actor when he made his film debut in 2012 with The Impossible, but he didn’t take long to launch to extraordinary heights of love and fame in fans’ hearts. While his tenure in the MCU as the fan-favorite Spider-Man was one to boost his career, the actor hasn’t hesitated to let his brilliance be known in other projects as well.

But after a decade since he professionally jumped into this profession, it seems like Holland’s movie star status might as well be on the line. This is because his movies outside the web-slinger’s universe don’t quite seem to perform all that well, especially in critics’ eyes. If anything, fans even deem his upcoming reported project to be his “last chain” to retain that status.

The love for Star Wars has spanned generations. With the films creating a cultural phenomenon that extends beyond the screen, fans have been drawn to the imaginative world-building, and iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia.
Although each film in the franchise has found a special place in the hearts of fans, the newer films wound up leaving a sour taste in the back of their throats. The displeasure may have started with the viewers. However, it looks like even some actors, like Daisy Ridley, were not too impressed.

Actor Demián Bichir has joined the cast of Scott Derrickson’s upcoming horror sequel The Black Phone 2.
The Black Phone was a huge success for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, so it’s really no wonder a sequel was greenlit so quickly. The sequel, simply titled The Black Phone 2, will hit cinemas next year and we already know Ethan Hawke will reprise his role as The Grabber.
Demián Bichir has now also joined the sequel in an undisclosed role, as reported by Deadline. All plot details are also being kept under wraps, but something tells us The Grabber might be grabbing kids again.
The first film grossed over $160m at the global box office and received generally positive reviews from critics. Director Scott Derrickson is set to return to direct the sequel and the script is also his handiwork, again with frequent collaborator Robert C Cargill.

I think I should preface my review of The Instigators with two things. Firstly, I had completely forgotten about this movie’s existence until the reviews from its limited theatrical release started to pop up on the internet. That can be the result of my ignorance or the bad marketing by Apple TV+. Since it has an incredibly stacked cast and yet it isn’t being plastered all over the internet and theaters (like the streaming platform did for Argylle), I’d put 90 percent of the blame regarding the lack of enthusiasm around the film on the marketing. Secondly, the awful reviews really confused me. I know that Doug Liman isn’t on the hot streak that he was enjoying until Edge of Tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean anything he touches should be disparaged because it’s not Edge of Tomorrow 2. Anyway, this is a long-winded way of...

The Instigators is a new film from Doug Liman, a director who burst onto the scene with the Sundance-rejected indie hit Swingers and the criminally underseen but ultra-cool Go. Yet, somehow, Liman transitioned from cult comedies to big-action Hollywood blockbusters with the first two films in The Bourne franchise and the film that made Jennifer Aniston a divorcee, Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
In addition to critically approved films like American Made and Fair Game, Liman has a filmography stacked with critical and box office disappointments. Real stinkers include the stagnant Chaos Walking, the forgettably campy Road House, the underwhelming Jumper, the obligatory Three Musketeers, and the streaming film Locked Down, which had many rooting for a Covid-19 victory.
Unfortunately, things will not improve with The Instigators, mainly because of a thoughtless and inattentive script that never bothers to sweat the details.

Is it just idiotic to keep hoping original made-for-streaming features might pass for real movies? Sure, there’s an occasional exception, but not Apple TV+’s The Instigators, even the generic title of which sounds like a dozen things you watched on planes and promptly forgot. The comedy-ish thriller about a pair of inept crime cohorts winging it after a botched heist boasts considerable resources, a proven director and a highly capable cast. But even an extended vehicular chase sequence involving half of Boston law enforcement and a trail of wreckage generates few sparks.
The Doug Liman film will play a week in theaters from August 2 before its global streaming premiere a week later. Which is one week more than the director’s last film — the silly but at least enjoyably pulpy Road House remake with Jake Gyllenhaal — got before dropping on Amazon.

After delivering impressive performances in movies like The Impossible and In the Heart of the Sea, Tom Holland hit the big time when he was cast as Peter Parker in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
He'd go on to star in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, becoming an MCU veteran in just five years. However, outside of his Marvel Studios work, Holland has struggled.
While he's impressed on the animation side in Onward and Spies in Disguise, Cherry, Chaos Walking, Uncharted, and his first TV series, The Crowded Room, all drew mixed-to-negative reviews.
As a result, it's hard to shake the feeling that, outside of Spider-Man, Holland is struggling to make his mark. In contrast, his girlfriend and fellow MCU actor Zendaya, has received critical acclaim for her work in Dune and The Challengers.

Daisy Ridley‘s acting career since “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” has been, let’s say, uneven. Sure, “Sometimes I Think About Dying” is a provocative character study and a solid performance by the actress. But then there’s stuff Doug Liman‘s dismal “Chaos Walking” and “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” two films not exactly tailor-made for Ridley’s talents.

Tom Holland gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making his debut in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. His interpretation of both Spider-Man and Peter Parker struck a chord with fans, effectively capturing the essence of the iconic character from the comics.
While Holland’s career may be facing some challenges at the moment, there are rumors circulating that he needs to be part of a major Paramount film. If these rumors hold true, it could potentially provide a significant boost to his career, which is somewhat floundering right now.

Taking on the iconic role of one of the most popular superheroes in the MCU, Tom Holland has swiftly ascended to the ranks of Hollywood’s most coveted actors. His breakout portrayal as Spider-Man has opened doors for him to exhibit his versatility beyond the superhero genre. However, his journey hasn’t been devoid of setbacks, both commercially and critically.

After Wonka and Dune Part Two, it seems like Timothée Chalamet is shaping up to become Hollywood’s next leading man, rivaling the likes of Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Cruise during thier younger days. The actor has left his mark on the box office, causing studios to look at the young actor as a bankable talent who is worth signing for bigger-budget films.
Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in Dune: Part One.
On the other hand, Tom Holland, despite bringing in a considerable amount of money playing Spider-Man, has been unable to stick the landing with films and franchises outside of the MCU, such as the Uncharted series. It seems that despite being a part of bigger box office premieres than Chalamet, Holland will be easily eclipsed by him when it comes to a paycheck.

I can't say if actor Tom Holland is well-suited to play Spider-Man, but I can say with absolute certainty that he is a first-rate teen heartthrob. He's handsome, affable, and dazzling in interviews. He has mastered the self-deprecating smile, and his tendency to give away the plot details of Avengers movies weirdly humanizes him. When it comes to acting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems little else is demanded of its leading men. Acting is less important than ineffable charm.

Lashana Lynch has found the optimal next role. The actor is attached to star in Optimize, a sci-fi feature from filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer.
Paramount is making the project with Beer’s Lab Brew banner as part of the filmmaker’s first-look deal with the studio. According to the logline, Optimize centers on an “average woman” who “utilizes an AI assistant to optimize all facets of her life, but soon finds that the AI’s pursuit of perfection comes at too high a cost.”
Before she was the director of projects such as Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and the screenwriter behind features such as Chaos Walking, Anderson Beer attended Stanford, where she studied artificial intelligence and robotics. That experience came in handy in crafting Optimize, first as a short story and now as a feature.

Tom Holland revealed one annoying habit that would get him told off by directors on set. Holland revealed that during his Marvel days, he would often push the creative boundaries that would irritate his directors. His on and off-screen girlfriend Zendaya also confirmed this annoying habit. Holland has majorly worked with directors Joe and Anthony Russo and Jon Watts in the MCU.

The trailer for "Wicked" just premiered during the Super Bowl and it features recognizable stars like Bowen Yang and Ariana Grande. But playing the future Wicked Witch Elphaba is someone who might be hard to recognize under all that green make-up: Cynthia Erivo. She's not a household name, but there's a decent chance you've seen (or heard) her somewhere without realizing it.
Erivo is an English actress who rose to prominence with one of her first major theater roles: Celie Harris in the musical stage adaptation of "The Color Purple." She went on to feature in the musical film "Beyond the Lights," then took on the role of Chenice in the West End musical "I Can't Sing!" The name of that show was misleading: Erivo very much could sing, and would continue receiving bigger and better roles as a result. She soon made her Broadway debut in the 2015 revival of "The Color Purple,...

Until this year, "Road House" was one of a handful of '80s action classics that hadn't gotten the reboot treatment, but a new movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal is about to change that. "Road House" 2.0 hits Prime Video in March, but fans can get a taste of the new movie's action now thanks to its just-released first trailer. Can Gyllenhaal match Patrick Swayze's sense of swagger, or will he blaze his own trail as a different version of the cool and collected bouncer who made the original an unlikely hit?
It's hard to tell from this initial two and a half minute first look whether or not this reboot will justify its own existence, but at first blush, the movie certainly seems to have a lot going for it. "The Bourne Identity" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" director Doug Liman is behind the camera here for the first time...

As much as people complain about Hollywood putting out the same things year after year, the fact remains that name recognition gets people into theater seats. Moreover, remakes and reboots give filmmakers an opportunity to retell beloved stories from a different perspectives. In this age of high-budgets and higher-expectations, reboots and remakes are among the only types of movies that major studios like to make these days.
So whether you’re feeling cynical about this year’s offerings or optimistic about the second swings filmmakers are taking, here are the biggest reboots and remakes coming in 2024.
Mean Girls (January 12)
Although the promotional materials tried to do their best to conceal it, the 2024 Mean Girls doesn’t so much adapt the beloved 2004 comedy, but rather the Broadway musical that followed. Which means that, yes, viewers will hear more songs than “Jingle Bell Rock.” Singer Reneé Rapp reprises her stage performance as lead Plastic Regina George,...

The worst thing that could possibly happen to a Doctor Who fan is for the show to be cancelled again. Or for it to be broadcast again. Depends who you ask, really.
Despite the advent of the 15th Doctor and the anticipation that brings, there are nagging doubts abroad concerning the show’s future. And that’s fair enough, really. Some fans are just naturally pessimistic, some remember previous crushed hopes around Doctor Who’s wilderness years, and some just look at the state of TV streaming and feel that pessimism is a fairly realistic outlook. It’s also not unreasonable to be concerned that David Tennant is kicking around somewhere, especially given that it was raised by the host during Gatwa’s recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Rege-Jean Page is to play Simon Templar, as Doug Liman is the latest to get his hands on The Saint. So to speak.
After enjoying significant success on the small screen – hello Roger Moore! – the TV series The Saint made the jump to blockbuster cinema in the back end of the 1990s. That was when Val Kilmer took on the role of Simon Templar, the career choice given at the time for him exiting what became Batman & Robin.
Phillip Noyce directed The Saint, but plans for a big screen franchise were muted by the less than stellar box office receipts, and the lack of a bunch of people at Paramount Pictures clamouring for a sequel.
Still, as properties such as The Equalizer have more elegantly turned into cinema hits, so a fresh take on The Saint has been bubbling along for a while. At one stage, as he told this very outlet,...

Daisy Ridley, the cornerstone star of Disney's recent "Star Wars" trilogy, has a new movie out in theaters right now. Unfortunately, it seems like getting that news out to the masses proved challenging as hardly anyone went to see the film in question, which is director Neil Burger's "The Marsh King's Daughter." Sad to say, the movie tanked on its opening weekend, failing to even crack the Top 10 on the charts despite playing on more than 1,000 screens.
"The Marsh King's Daughter" debuted at just $849,120 over the weekend, putting it all the way at number 13 on the charts, per Box Office Mojo. Even Disney's re-release of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" made more, and we're talking about a 30-year-old movie that has been in re-release for three weekends.

Daisy Ridley is returning to the silver screen this fall in "The Marsh King's Daughter," and it looks to be another unique entry in her filmography after wrapping up the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy in 2019. Based on Karen Dionne's novel of the same name and hailing from Lionsgate, this is an action/thriller that sees Ridley going toe-to-toe with another "Star Wars" alum by way of "Rogue One" in the form of Ben Mendelsohn, who is playing her estranged father. Let's get ready to rumble.
It's the latest in a string of unique, post-franchise choices that Ridley has made, including starring in the unfortunately disastrous YA adaptation "Chaos Walking" or giving comedy a go in Judd Apatow's "The Bubble." She also starred in the drama "Sometimes I Think About Dying," which debuted at Sundance earlier this year. And yes, she's going to return as Rey in a galaxy far,...

Amazon Prime Video France has signed a multi-year deal with leading French independent distributor Metropolitan FilmExport to bring over 100 movies to local subscribers.
Metropolitan FilmExport ranks as one of France’s top purveyors of U.S. franchise films, such as “Lord of the Rings,” “Hunger Games,” and “John Wick.” As such, this deal positions Prime Video in France as a home for premium content for wide audiences.
The streamer will also get access to new movies, which will land straight on the service in France without being released in local theaters and will be labeled Prime Video Exclusives. These include Gerard Butler title “Kandahar” directed by Ric Roman Waugh and “Kali,” Julien Seri’s (“Yamazaki”) action-packed revenge film starring Sabrina Ouazani. Prime Video also picked up “Kali” for Latin America, along with France.
The landmark deal will mark Prime Video’s most extensive pact signed with a French distribution company.

Sarah Polley — who earlier this year won the best-adapted screenplay Oscar for her feature Women Talking — is in talks to direct the live-action Bambi film for Disney, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The project is still in development, but should it happen, it would join Disney’s lucrative classic animation–to–live-action roster, the most recent addition to which was The Little Mermaid, which has made over $400 million at the box office to date.
The Bambi project was first reported in 2020, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider) and Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking) set to pen the screenplay and Depth of Field, the production banner run by Chris and Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano, on board to produce. It’s unclear if this team is still in place. (Depth of Field worked with the studio on Robert Zemeckis’ take on another classic animation, Pinocchio.)

Daisy Ridley, best known as Rey in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, is getting the chance to shine as the star of her very own throwback action flick. What's more, she's working with the director of a couple of the best action movies of the last 30 years. Ridley is set to star as the lead in "Cleaner," which sounds very much like "Die Hard, but in London" with Martin Campell, of "Casino Royale" fame, in the director's chair. If I may? F*** yes.
According to Deadline, the action/thriller is being taken out to buyers at the Cannes Film Market, with plans to actually shoot the film in late summer. No word yet on who will be eyed to star alongside Ridley, but this marks one of her most flashy gigs since "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" hit theaters in 2019. Apple TV+ has assembled a star-studded cast for its new post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, "Silo," based on the bestselling book series of the same name by Hugh Howey. Set to premiere this May, "Silo" has now released its first trailer, where you can see heavyweight talents like Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins, rapper Common ("John Wick: Chapter 2"), Rashida Jones ("Parks and Recreation"), and David Oyelowo.
Back in 2021 when "Silo" was still finding its cast, the series — which hails from "Justified" showrunner Graham Yost and Oscar-nominated director Morten Tyldum ("The Imitation Game") — was going by a different title, "Wool." That's the name of Howey's first book, collecting his first short story, "Wool," and four follow-up novellas. Where do you go after headlining a "Star Wars" trilogy? It's a dilemma multiple actors have faced over the decades, and the outcomes have varied wildly. Some have gone on to enjoy incredible careers in fields such as voice acting and script doctoring, whereas others have followed their time playing in the immensely popular sci-fi fantasy sandbox by making actually real movies like the "'Romeo and Juliet,' but with pizza businesses" rom-com "Little Italy." Journeying to a galaxy far, far away can be a proper roll of the dice, in other words, so far as the impact it can have on your professional ambitions as a performer is concerned.
In the wake of the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, its leads have all found themselves in dramatically different places. Admittedly, not much has changed for Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver, both of whom have continued to make fascinating career choices,...

Blasting into the mainstream as Rey in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Daisy Ridley instantly became an exciting new presence in the world of movies. We don't need to wade into the idea of whether or not she qualifies as a movie star since the discourse around that subject has become obnoxious recently, but when you watch her on screen, it's undeniable she has "it" -- that elusive X-factor that draws you in as an audience member and makes you want to see more of what she's doing.
