This film essentially begins with a young man by the name of "Gordon DeFeo" (Shane Ryan-Reid) experiencing horrifying visions about his father who murdered 6 members of his family one night in 1974. The scene then shifts to a young woman named "Laura Lutz" (Dawn Church) who was recently presented with the ashes of that same mass murderer upon moving into a new house and begins having horrifying visions as well. To that effect, Gordon and Laura eventually meet and, together with some friends, discuss what to do about it. The problem, however, is that the ghost of the mass murderer is quite powerful and has no intention of leaving this earthly realm anytime soon. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film started off relatively well and had a good premise to build upon. Unfortunately, like many low-budget films, the director (Louis DeStefano) wasn't quite able to turn out a decent product due primarily to an extremely weak script and some poor acting on the part of a couple of people--most notably Joycelyne Lew (as "May") and Chris Spinelli ("Evan"). Likewise, the scenes involving sexual intimacy could have used considerable improvement as well. In any case, while not quite as bad as some of the other recent films in the franchise, it still isn't a movie that I would recommend, and I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
