This four-part drama with a supernatural element to it is set almost exclusively around an unnamed train station where a young woman named Lisa apparently committed suicide a year ago. Her restless spirit however can't recall the circumstances of her death and so roams and indeed is trapped within the confines of the station as she struggles to restore her memory. When she witnesses another, this time deliberate suicide at the same station, the tear of the dead man's apparently grieving daughter magically frees her from the station enabling her to now return to her old haunts (no pun intended) to finally piece together the sequence of events which led to her demise.
Before she does that, she has another mystery to clear up as the ghost of the other suicide is also hanging around the station. This is an apparently crotchety middle-aged man who shuns any attempt at friendship with her. It soon becomes clear why he's as cold as he is as we learn the true nature of his relationship with his daughter who returns to the site, not to mourn but instead to rage at him for his sexual abuse of her as a child which has scarred her psychologically.
The main story however focuses on Lisa gradually recovering her lost memories and finally learning exactly how and why she died that fateful night. We see her return to her first meeting with her young doctor boyfriend an encounter which soon blossoms into romance and sees him move into her flat. But why did she fall out with her best friend just before she died and what exactly does the rather shifty young doctor colleague and ex-flatmate of her boyfriend know and seem to want to tell her?
With the help of an eager young transport policeman, the truth is finally revealed but just when you think this ghost has busted the case by the end of episode 3, there's more work for her to do in the next episode to rescue the next victim, ensure justice is done and naturally bring about closure for all including herself.
It has to be said that things really only kick off in the final episode when sad-eyed Lisa, who for three episodes has been padding about in her pyjamas and slippers, finds a way to manifest herself and make things happen without quite becoming visible. It's amusing in the end to watch her toy with her prey in a reversal of roles although some sensitive souls might carp at her ultimate victory in breaking the spirit of her nemesis to the point that they end up in an asylum for the mentally ill.
Still, this ghostly fantasy, far-fetched as it was, managed to happily remind me of some of my favourite ITC shows from my youth when growing up in the 60's although naturally in today's world, it stops along the way to make big points about child abuse and coercive behaviour towards women.
A refreshing change from the more conventional crime shows and police procedurals of the day, while it may not have been absolutely phantasmic, it's certainly worth at least the ghost of a chance.

Why oh why do people feel the need to give away the main theme in their titles and reviews ? Really, how annoying, and it seems that one can only do one reporting thing.
OK, I don't want to SPOIL a single thing as this is absolutely well worth watching. As for the person that left a review after watching just 1 episode, urm yeah well done. Please don't do this ever again. I reported that and asked that it be removed, but no can do.
This is a very decent bit of viewing for sure. It deals with some controversial issues but that's what life actually consists of for too many people.
It's not a hugely uplifting watch, as it deals with those topics that many don't want to acknowledge, but that makes for uncomfortable yet interesting viewing doesn't it ?
As for people saying that certain parts weren't relevant, jeepers it's a story that involves other people other than the main 2 people for goodness sake, that's how stories are. Sheesh.
The third episode disturbed me, a male, that has lived through a scenario similar to the one on display there, albeit not to quite the same intensity. But it got to me nonetheless. Once again that's confronting viewing that gets to you so isn't that something kinda good in a bad way. Not everything in life, or a TV series, is chocolates, unicorns and rainbows is it now.
Grit your teeth, give it a go and hopefully enjoy a show that will stay with you for a while after.
Oh and it might not be an actual 10 out of ten, but if a person is allowed to post a review after watching just the first episode, than I reckon I'm allowed to pump up the aggregate score. Cheers.

Lisa watches in horror as a mature man named Edward jumps in front of a train, taking his own life, Lisa is a ghost, one seeking answers as to how she too, died on Platform Seven.
This definitely gets additional points for being something a little bit different, it's definitely not your average, run of the mill crime drama, there's more than a hint of aci fi here, which really does make a refreshing change.
Episodes one and two are quirky enough, luring you into a world of fantasy and ghosts, the twist definitely comes in episode three, where it feels like a whole new show.
Jasmine Jobson delivers a quality performance, so good, credit too to Toby Regbo, very good as the controlling, but charming Matthew.
My only real gripe, the poor use of Phil Davies, who's character just didn't go anywhere, surely we had more to learn about Edward.
Stick with it.
8/10.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!! It really helps if you care about the characters ... especially the protagonist! She was a terrible actress. The writing didn't help. It was very juvenile and aimed at 20yr olds! The idea has been done so many times before . And I can safely say give me Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore anytime.. Ghost was much more entertaining. I found myself fast forwarding through episodes 2 & 3 , only to find the last episode was even more pathetic! I just didn't care. Yes, you may find yourself saying , well why did you watch it then... because I kept waiting for it to fit these fantastic reviews!!
Don't be fooled folks and do yourself a favour .. look for Ghost on a streaming service!

Amazing, troubling yet gripping. Great series that keeps you hooked, slow burn into intense sitting on the edge of your seat engagement.
Great cast list, definitely worth a watch if you like thrillers with a good psychological back story.
Don't be turned off by episode one, wait it out, you'll be gripped! Ending wise, seemed to be lacking but it was well put.
Demonstrates how intense some relationships can be, and you wouldn't even know it! Covers very sensitive topics, but very well written and adressed.
Could have more but definitely appreciate what was given, you can tell as i binged all episodes all in one day!

I binged watched this! It's so well written and done,it's only a shame there was 4 episodes, great acting from all involved, this series had me gripped from start to finish.
I'm not sure of the bad reviews if I'm honest, did we all watch the same series!!
The only thing wrong with it is it ended so soon and there wasn't enough episodes!
Would love another series although I know it can't be carried on. But absolutely fabulous well done to all involved. It did reminded me of the film Ghost when he went after his killer, and few other films I've seen. Fantastic supernatural series please give it a watch!!!!!! You won't be sorry.

This started off quite well. It was intriguing and I thought it had the potential to go somewhere, Sadly, it did not. There were so many shots of the lead character standing and staring in between the so called action.
The old man added nothing to the story. Apparently this is based on a book, but this series didn't know if it was a thriller, drama or comedy. I have no idea if the book is any good or not, so can't make any observations on that.
Anyway, this had potential, but then was just silly. It could have been a good ghost story, even if we all knew exactly what was going to happen. 12345.

Kept me gripped, those who said they gave up after episode 1 missed a good storyline.
Disturbing and great final episode. Highlights coercive behaviour and stalking. Could have looked into the doctor's past and what made him the way he was but then it may have dragged the series out and 4 episodes is just right.
Could have expanded a bit on the final episode but I suppose that would have dragged it out too long.
I feel there could be a 2nd series, expanding on some of the side stories, I feel they were a bit unfinished especially the autistic doctor and the young transport officer.
Great acting by a young fresh cast.

The drama tackles the sensitive yet crucial topic of coercive relationships and the complexities of fleeing domestic violence. The portrayal of the outcomes, especially when abusers take their own lives, shedding light on the aftermath of such situations.
It's commendable that the drama features actors from classic dramas/films, bringing their experience and depth to these sensitive scenes. This blend of seasoned talent in such serious roles likely adds authenticity to the portrayal of these critical issues.
I would say the show caters to both young adults and older audiences speaks to its universal relevance, as these serious cases can indeed affect individuals at any stage of life. Overall, "Platform 7" is well put together series that effectively addresses an important societal issue while providing valuable insights and awareness.

Watched the first episode which I nearly gave up on because it was a bit slow and the acting was pretty grim, especially the main protagonist. So I came on here to read the reviews and even though most were giving the show 8 or more stars I was already agreeing with the 3 Star reviews. I decided to forgo episodes 2 and 3 and just watch the last one for closures sake. The storyline is fairly predictable with lots of fillers so I'm glad it wasn't six episodes like some reviewers wanted. To me it could have been told in one hour like one of Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected. Glad I didn't waste too much time on it.

Why do program makers treat us like idiots? It was an interesting premise and with some thought could have worked but the plot had more holes than Swiss cheese.
If the central character could perform telekinetic feats why couldn't she pick up a pen and paper? I find this happening more and more nowadays and I know it's not that I'm becoming more intelligent so producing this drivel seems to be about following some kind of formula by aspiring playwrights.
Could it be that we are meant to suspend all logical thought and immerse ourselves in something that would have a child asking "Why doesn't she do this etc. Etc. Etc.?" Vacuous nonsense.

What I don't understand is why we didn't see the Constable visit Shale or the Ex-Girlfriend and hear that conversation about his behavior? That was one of the best discoveries in the series.
That was one of the first request from his supervisor; speak to the Ex Girlfriend who's a nurse.
Also why didn't the other Constable tell his friend about the message he received from Dr. Shale?
Why No consequence for him?
That was a missed conversation.
I don't understand why the old man storyline was added; it did Nothing to increase the main storyline.
Overall I did enjoy the show.
I I recommend to several friends to enjoy.

I appreciate that Lisa is dead and has amnesia, but does she have to be so miserable? Jasmine Jobson plays her with a face like a slapped bottom. I just couldn't warm to her character and so didn't care what (had) happened to her.
I watched the first 2 episodes (of 4) and then gave up on it. There was the inevitable misdirection in the first two episodes but, by the end of the second episode, it seemed obvious where this was headed.
Not sure how the British Transport Police feel about their portrayal in this, but they are made to look like amateurs who just mess around investigating whatever cold case takes their fancy.

It was my mum that said I need to watch this and it's very good. OMG i was hooked.
Platform 7 is a 2021 psychological thriller it tells the story of Lisa who witnesses a cataclysmic even on the platform 7.
Starring Jasmine jobson as Lisa and Lowestoft boy Reece Ritchie as Richard Shale.
As I am from Lowestoft and went to Theatre School with Reece Ritchie at a young age I so wanted to watch this.
The story line is very different to your normal thrillers but was interesting and very good.
It had suspense and it certainly keeps you hooked, was surprisingly a good watch.
You need watch carefully as it does skip from past to future and the story telling is great without it being cheesy and predictable.
Jasmine Jobson is a great actress and plays the part of Lisa extremely well and felt sad for her, without given to much away but you never know who you can trust in a relationship.
Reece Ritchie it was weird seeing him in a tv programme as knew him when I was a young child at theatre school.
He was brilliant couldn't work out if he was playing a villain or a good guy ?
He has done so well and is a versatile actor. Watched him lovely bones he was good in that and he is good in this. So if you are a fan of him then watch this !!!
Overall a good watch.
I really enjoyed it was good from the first episode and it just keeps getting better and better through out.
You can easily binge watch 4 episodes in a weekend.
So if you like dramas/ thrillers with a unique storyline then you will love this.
I've watch a fair bit and this one is good !!!
So sit back and watch this you won't be disappointed
Streaming on ITV X now.
