Adam Brody (Trevor) and Leighton Meester (Joey) are husband and wife. They've been married since 2014.
While the film is set in the USA, it was in fact filmed in Slovakia.
The screenplay was based on the 1994 film The River Wild (1994) written by Denis O'Neill. That film starred Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon.
Leighton Meester and Taran Killam starred together on the sitcom Single Parents (2018). Adam Brody guest starred on the same.
