- TriviaThis version of the scene and the one seen in Shrek (2001) are mostly similar, with the major difference being that the motivation of Chris Farley's Shrek for taking on rescuing Princess Fiona is that he wants his own home to prove himself to his parents. Despite the script being heavily rewritten following the death of Farley and casting of Mike Myers as Shrek in his place, some of Eddie Murphy's recorded dialogue as Donkey was retained for the final version.
- Quotes
Donkey: Oh, this is another one of those "onion" things.
Shrek: No, this is one of those "drop it and leave me alone" things.
Donkey: Well, why don't you want to talk about it?
Shrek: Why do you want to talk about it?
Donkey: Why are you answering the question with a question?
Shrek: Why are you asking questions I don't want to answer?
Donkey: Why are you blocking?
Shrek: I'm not blocking.
Donkey: Then why do you have problems expressing your wants?
Shrek: I don't. "I want you to shut up". See? No problem.
