Somewhat all over the place and nowhere all at once...
Right, well the synopsis for this 2022 South Korean movie titled "Buginaiteu" (aka "Boogie Nights") definitely seemed interesting, and it made me pick up the movie to give it a view. Well, that, and the fact that it was an Asian movie that I hadn't already seen.
The storyline in "Buginaiteu" was a bit chaotic, and writer and director Kim Kyung-Yeop's movie sort of fell a bit short of providing me with all that much entertainment. Sure, the movie was watchable, but the storyline was a tad too much all over the place and a bit too confusing and erratic for my liking.
The acting performances in "Buginaiteu" were good, and they had some pretty good actresses and actors on the cast list. Leading actor Gwi-Hwa Choi definitely carried the movie quite well, and the movie had some great performances from the likes of Hye Won Jang, Hee-Jung Kim, Hwan-Hee Park, Lee Ho-Cheol, Si-Won Lee and Yoon Jin Young as well.
While I did manage to sit through the movie's 88 minutes runtime, I was only mildly entertained. The movie was watchable, but not an outstanding moment in the South Korean cinema. And I doubt that I will ever return to watch "Buginaiteu" a second time.
My rating of "Buginaiteu" lands on a four out of ten stars.
