Tons of Christmas movies but few Christmas mysteries. Thus the hope that this would at least meet the minimum challenge of Hallmark's machine. Sadly this will amuse few unless you're busy on social media while watching. Sets, lighting, photography are up to TV movie levels.
Sound is clear but the cast has little to say of interest.
Insipid more than cringe worthy overall.
Lead actress is much less professional than the rest of the cast which do feel like community theater alumni.
No humor, puns, fun. Hard to justify watching it. Even the accents fail to entertain.
Do count on cookies of some sort in virtually every scene.

The main character, Andy, has this huge skin tag on her left eye, which was very distracting. Why don't actors remove these things from their face? The other distracting issue was she always had expressions of bulging eyes when anyone said anything. Speaking of eyes, the actor who played Liam, where were his eyelashes?! His appeared missing. The house decor was cheaply decorated for a home that was supposed to be owned by a wealthy person. Draping material over paneling doesn't make it rich. The acting was okay, storyline was interesting, but I just couldn't get past the skin tag on the bulging eyes.

The story may be typical for holiday TV movies but the acting is so amateur it seems like I'm watching a "who done it" mystery at a small local community theater. I can't count how many times I rolled my eyes at the lame facial expression's and stiff acting. I didn't bother to read the actors bios, but other than the Baldwin brother it seemed to me these were inexperienced actors. The writing was typical of a simple mystery and offered no real surprises. The best thing about the movie was the house the action was set in and the over the top Christmas decorations, also typical of holiday movies.
