When the music video Rage in My Eyes: Spark of Hope (2021) was shot, director Ulisses Da Motta and producer Eduardo Christofoli felt that the footage with actors Marcos Guarani, Bruno Krieger and Gianna Soccol were good enough to make a narrative short film with it. Hence the idea to reassemble the images into a new product, that is this film.
This is the tenth title to feature the triple collaboration between Ulisses Da Motta as director, musician Chico Pereira as composer and music producer, and Roberto Coutinho as sound designer.
Shot during the covid-19 pandemic with a tight eight-member crew on set. Because of sanitary restrictions, Gianna Soccol ended up accumulating several functions: production designer, costume designer, actress and scriptwriter.
Notable differences between the music video and the narrative short:
1) The duel scene uses distinct shots;
2) In the music video, the duel is shown in slow motion; in the narrative, it alternates over and under cranking images;
3) Marcos Guarani character's name was changed from "Missioneiro" to "Minuano" - both references South Brazil's First Nations;
4) The color grading was remade for the narrative short to be more "golden and cinematic", according to the director;
5) The characters background story was cut off the narrative short;
6) Obviously, there are no shots of the Rage In My Eyes' musicians Jonathas Pozo, Magnus Wichmann, Francis Cassol and Pedro Fauth in the narrative short, although they are referenced in the credits as "special thanks".

Since it is an experiment, director Ulisses Da Motta came up with the idea to name it as a "Study". The "N. 2" in the title is because the images were shot originally for Rage in My Eyes: Spark of Hope (2021), so it was the second time that they were used.
