- TriviaStuntwoman Olivia Jackson was involved in a motorcycle crash during filming. The dangerous stunt involved her driving a motorcycle towards a camera mounted on a crane, while she wore no helmet as the shot required her not to. The crane malfunctioned and didn't move out of the way in time. Noticing this, she tried (and failed) to block it with her arm. She received several serious life threatening injuries including a twisted spine, broken discs, brain bleeding, shattered scapula, nerves torn, leaking cerebral fluid, degloved face (which is when facial skin is ripped off to reveal muscle tissue and teeth), shattered eye socket which had to be put together with tweezers, cheekbone shard stabbing her ear drum, fingers torn from her hand, an entire bone ripped out of her arm. Her left arm, which suffered these injuries, was injured so badly it had to be amputated. She was put into a medically induced coma for 17 days to perform all of the surgeries. Paul W.S. Anderson was so devastated by the accident that he nearly quit the project, while Milla Jovovich visited Jackson in the hospital and brought her flowers. Jackson sued (and won) the production company for the workplace injuries, as she was initially only compensated $33,000 for the injuries.
- GoofsAt the beginning of the movie, Alice gives a history of the Umbrella Corporation. She says that the T-Virus was created by a Dr. Marcus for his daughter Alicia to prevent her rapid aging. This completely contradicts the story of Resident Evil: Apocalypse as this movie establishes the T-Virus as being created by Dr. Ashford for his daughter Angie. While the novelization explains that Dr. Ashford created the Virus at the behest of Dr. Marcus, this is never made clear in the film.
- Quotes
Dr. Isaacs: Ah, how touching. The trinity of bitches, united in their hatred.
- Crazy creditsAfter the film credits finish rolling, there will be a black screen and the Red Queen's voice saying: "You're all going to die down here".
- Alternate versionsThree versions are available, depending on your location, the main, worldwide theatrical release ("1h 47m (107 min)", an eight minute shorter version for Taiwan ("1h 39m (99 min) (China)") and another edited cut for the Peoples Republic of China ("1h 39m (99 min) (Mainland China Censored Version) (China)"). The main cuts are shots of the zombies, especially close-ups.

Featured review
This is just some Paul Anderson cash grab, crap fest abomination that carries Resident Evil title, features some zombies, loud music, gun shots, explosions and one of the worst directing and editing I've ever seen. Every scene in this movie, right from the start, is shot with shaky camera and fast cuts.I don't know who thought that this approach would make The Final chapter a better movie, because it made it the worst, and hopefully the last under the supervision of Paul Anderson. There was only one scene, one moment, where the glory of the real Resident Evil showed some signs of life, but that scene was butchered with amazingly awful editing that made my eyes hurt. What the hell happened to you Paul? It seems the glory of Event Horizon will remain the peak of his career. Now lets just hope they let Resident Evil rest for some time before they reboot it with proper people behind the camera, people who understand what RE is all about.
