I went to see this movie with my extended family, expectations were fairly low. I'm not a big rom-com person, nor am I an Indy film person. I like standard mainstream stuff. But the wife said let's go, so I went.
I laughed a surprising amount! Some clever writing and upstart talent in the production squeezed a lot of juice out of the clearly modest budget. The plot is not deep or technical, but had enough fun in the characters and the situational comedy that things I would have nitpicked in a big budget production were happily overlooked.
I came away impressed; if more Hollywood types had the gumption of this type of film team, we'd have a much better entertainment landscape. Worth the watch.

I smiled and laughed a lot. The characters are fun and lovable. The story is original and not quite what I expected. My son laughed the entire time. Loved the loved characters and the diverse actors. The locations were really nice. I loved the scene with the mountains at the end. The script was so clever and original. I'd love to see more films like this. I think the princess character was so lovely and grounded and relatable. I could relate to her in a personal level. That was refreshing. If you want a good laugh, you should definitely go see this movie. I'm looking forward to watching it again.

Such a fun, amusing movie! It has all the key ingredients that make a good RomCom, with some unexpected twists in the plot as well. The characters are cleverly developed and really fun to watch. The rich girl, poor guy withholding their true identities plot line had a good spin on it that it kept me engaged and waiting to see what happened next. If you're looking for a good laugh, Royal Facade ticks the boxes as well. The characters develop and grow on screen with a lot of laughter for the audience along the way. I feel like they're relatable and I could see myself being friends with them as well. Just go watch Royal Facade, you'll love it!

Comedy, suspense, drama, mystery, and a little bit of romance!
Royal Facade is a family friendly comedy with a story that will keep you engaged. I found myself and my young children laughing throughout. At first it felt like something you'd find on Hallmark, but the storyline is more engaging than predictable.
A fairly good film clearly limited by budget. Frankly, I'd love to see what they could do without the limitations.
At the end of the day, this movie fulfilled its purpose by entertaining my family for movie night. Kid's loved it. My wife and I laughed. You might say it was a "Worth it, winner!" movie.
Recommended.

I enjoyed Royal Façade quite a bit. It had me laughing along and I was genuinely invested in the story.
There were a few things about the film that left me wanting a bit more:
1. The transitions were a bit rough and jarring--a lot of the transitions from scene to scene felt abrupt and unpolished.
2. The humor was too corny at moments. I know this movie wants to be "family friendly" but if you're alluding to a cuss word instead of just saying it what was the point of avoiding the cuss word to begin with? Just say ass... You can have "clean" humor without alluding to a swear word or you can just use the swear word--I didn't find that type of thing funny, it was just cringey.
3. There were some real beautiful moments of emotional vulnerability in the film but it often cut away too quickly or the emotional scene was cut short by a joke. I would have liked to sit longer with the characters emotions--while humor is great choose your placement of jokes wisely.
I thought the actors did a phenomenal job and the story was well written--but at the end of the day I do feel like I was watching a non-finished project. The rough scene changes and the odd transitions made the film feel a little jarring.

Every once in a while you get to watch something that truly entertains the whole way through.
This film starts with a great script, then the memorable performances of the actors, create a must see movie.
Paul Cartwright is a talented writer/director to keep an eye on.
I love what he did with this story. It's a wonderfully crafted. Hilarious entertaining family film.
Isaac Akers actor was a delight. He stole every scene he was in.
Weixin Le is the perfect princess. I loved her performance.
Paul Cartwright lent his acting talents to the story with a quirkiness that was so fun to watch.
And BJ Whimpey played his part to perfection.
All the supporting cast stepped up to deliver rock solid performances, which took this charming comedy to a higher level.
Royal Facade is a must watch movie for all ages and especially for those who are romantic at heart.
You'll fall in love with all the characters and laugh out loud at the crazy antics they get up to.
Overall this is a solid film with memorable characters, a fun plot, a stellar story and a perfect ending.
This is a film you can watch over and over and enjoy every time.

This movie is a lot of fun. Perfect amount of cheese, silly moments, and cookies. You might be a little skeptical at first, but keep on staying for the ride and you'll love it!
I thought that this movie was well done. The cinematography could definitely use some work. Although there were some fun shots. Also considering their budget they did a really good job with all things put into place.
I really like the main character. Definitely a lot of talent. The accents used by him were pretty funny and had a lot of my laughs.
Cheese: 5/10 Character Development: 6/10 Plot: 7/10 Characters: 8/10 Music: 9/10 Cookies: 10/10.

Royal Facade is a wholesome and heartwarming indy film. A good family story. Aladdin meets Lady and the Tramp. The performances were hilarious. You could tell it was made with such love and humility.
As far as RomComs go, it's funny to watch and I enjoyed the character developments. Technically, it could have been better, it was hard to watch with almost 90% of shots being close ups. A bit hard to watch like that, you feel claustrophobic. But I understand there were hardships during production. And crowds are never easy. I have a lot of respect for a crew that never gave up and kept going and finished the film the best they could. Most would have given up.
Keep on making films! You guys rocked it!

A sweet romantic comedy that showcases the skill of its cinematographer/DP, in fact it's rare to find a film in this low budget rom com field that looks as good as this film does. The investment is clear on screen. The film is worth noting as well for casting an extremely diverse group of actors, an atypical choice in many similar Hallmark-style romantic comedies. Lead Isaac Akers was another key strength of this film. Charming, committed and with that spark in his performance and personality that makes a star. I see great things in his future. The film serves as a modern day take on the traditional prince and the pauper story, in this case with a celebrity and a small town chef, and the classic mistaken identities.
This movie was so fun to watch. Lots of laughs while watching this film. My husband and I overall enjoyed it. Definitely a fun watch. The acting was so fun and very natural and I loved all of the characters. I also thought that the cinematography was amazing. Very well done with all of the shots and the production design. One of my favorite characters was the best friend of the main character. His acting was great and hilarious. There as honestly so much talent in this movie and it was very well done. The end of the story is definitely a surprise and super unexpected. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone!
Royal Façade is a great independent film that not only walks beautifully between difficult genres to execute well but delicately balances those genres in a family-friendly entertaining film. This romance, comedy and drama combo movie is something everyone will enjoy. Those are hard genres to get right and they did all three justice. I don't laugh easily in films and this brought out a lot of laughter! It's heartwarming and a great storyline.
Very well done to an incredible producer team: Paul Cartwright, Jade Gottfredson and Tiffany Gale for producing this and a cast and crew that delivered on so many levels, that the final cut comes together no less than impressive and wonderful.

I just watched Royal Facade and absolutely loved it! This movie is such a cute and fun romantic comedy. The story really pulled me in, and the chemistry between the two lead actors, Weixin Le and Isaac Akers, is off the charts.
Weixin is so talented - not only is she a fantastic actress, but she's also a totally awesome stunt performer in real life. You can really see her action chops shine through in the film. And she has such great comedic timing and natural charisma.
The way the movie portrays the interracial relationship and friendship between the characters felt super genuine and organic. It's just a normal part of the story, not some big deal. Loved that.
Overall, Royal Facade is a really solid rom-com with great performances, an engaging plot, and a really sweet, natural vibe. If you're in the mood for an entertaining, feel-good movie, I'd highly recommend checking this one out. Thumbs way up!

This is such a fun and silly romcom. I couldn't help but smile the whole time I was watching it. You can tell that everyone on screen (and off screen) were loving what they were doing while making this film.
The chemistry between all of the characters is very apparent; from the romance between the Princess Avali and Anderson to the undying friendship of Anderson and Todd to the family dynamic of the King and Queen and their daughter. All and all a stellar ensemble cast.
The direction (and acting) by writer director Paul Cartwright is clear and takes the movie in a wonderful and beautiful direction.
5 stars, 2 thumbs up, would recommend.

I anticipated the opening of Royal Facade and was looking forward to it. I read the plot line and knew I'd love it. But was unable to attend the premier. And now I've seen it and it was worth the wait. The character development was fun, loved the acting of the lead roles, the scenery was beautiful, the banter and chemistry between the cast members was enjoyable, and I loved the creativity. Clearly you had a great time making the film. Thank you for the clean humor. I loved laughing at and with the cast. Can't wait to watch it again. And please make more films. I'd love to watch and support more of your movies.

Royal Facade is a really fun story helmed by passionate crew and performed wonderfully by a talented cast. This indie film does a lot with a minimal budget and makes for a really fun watch with boundless heart.
Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors" meets Aladdin.
There are one or two scenes where the camera shakes a bit and framing is occasionally a little off but it wears its heart on its sleeve and is a strong directorial, feature-length debut from writer, actor, director, Paul Cartwright.
I found myself laughing frequently and cheering on both protagonists; definitely well worth a watch and one I'll be adding to my library!

This show exceeded my expectations. I liked that it was set in a Colorado town during a festival. It reminded me of the Sundance film festival. The mountain scenery was beautiful and I enjoyed the shots that included the mountains.
The acting was great. I really liked the female lead. She was really believable in her role and delivered her lines well.
The story was heartwarming and there were a lot of delightfully funny quips in the script. Overally this movie was a delight and it would be a great one to watch as a family without worrying about scary or other mature content. Thanks for making a clean film that is uplifting for the whole family!

It's true, even my husband liked it. Which is saying something. He usually walks away when I'm watching something on the Hallmark channel. But this one pulled him in and he sat through it, even laughing sometimes.
This plot was much more engaging than the average romcom on hallmark channel. It wasn't as predictable either. Well worth the watch. We actually bought it because we like it so much. The acting was great, story line intriguing.
Could it be better? Yes. But it's something good enough to rewatch and laugh and enjoy again and again. Can't wait to see more from these filmmakers. This one was good.
