The Conjuring film franchise is set to come to an end with the fourth installment, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which Warner Bros. has scheduled for a theatrical release on September 5, 2025 release. We had previously heard that this movie would be filming in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but apparently they’re doing some work across the pond as well, as we’ve also heard that filming was scheduled to take place in London, England from September 10th through October 10th this year. So it makes sense that the first two cast members to be announced, other than returning franchise stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, are both English. Deadline reports that Wilson and Farmiga have been joined in the cast by Ben Hardy (Love at First Sight) and Mia Tomlinson (The Lost Pirate Kingdom). Details on the characters they’re playing have not been revealed.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be back (at least) one more time in The Conjuring: Last Rites, and Deadline reports that Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) have also signed on for the upcoming installment.
Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II) is returning to the franchise to direct The Conjuring: Last Rites, which is reportedly said to be the final installment in the main series of The Conjuring movies.
The Conjuring: Last Rites will release in theaters September 5, 2025.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2) wrote the screenplay for the fourth movie. Franchise mainstays James Wan and Peter Safran are on board to produce.
The Conjuring films are based on the real-life case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively.
In addition to another movie, The Conjuring is also headed to the small screen.

The Conjuring 4 – or The Conjuring: Last Rites – has landed in London for production ahead of its 2025 release. More here.
If you’re keeping track of The Conjuring series of movies and it assorted spin-offs, then just know that to collect them all on physical media you’re going to need to invest in a good shelf from Ikea. Other suppliers are available.
However, in terms of the actual main line of Conjuring films, there have been three. By my reckoning, there have been five direct spin-off movies, so they’re winning. Still, as you’ve probably gleaned from the headline to this story, there’s now a fourth The Conjuring film that’s recently gone before the cameras.
It’s called The Conjuring: Last Rites, and we’re willing to bet a reasonable amount of money that it won’t be the last one. Screen Daily is reporting too...

Ridley Scott's "Alien" from 1979 is one of the most important films ever made: a gripping sci-fi horror film about the crew of the commercial star freighter Nostromo, who investigate an alien distress call only to be attacked by a grotesquely sexual nightmare creature that spawns a gigantic being known as the Xenomorph. Given the infancy of digital effects at the time, the Xenomorph was played by Nigerian visual artist Bolaji Badejo. Standing 6'10" and donning an impressive suit modeled after the designs of H.R. The Conjuring film franchise is set to come to an end with the fourth installment, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which Warner Bros. set to give the film a theatrical release on September 5, 2025 release. We had previously heard that this movie would be filming in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but apparently they’ll be doing some work across the pond as well, with filming scheduled to take place in London, England from September 10th through October 10th this year. Industry scooper Daniel Richtman has gotten his hands on a casting call that reveals some details on a few supporting characters that will be required on the set in London.
We don’t have any plot info on The Conjuring: Last Rites at this time, all we know that the story takes place in the United States in the 1980s, but thanks to Richtman and the casting call we know about these characters:

Believe it or not, June is almost over. That can mean only one thing! Okay, it can actually mean lots of things, but for the purposes of this story, we're specifically talking about new titles coming to Netflix for July. Every month, the streaming giant says goodbye to a few movies and TV shows to make room for new stuff. These days, most of the new entries that hit Netflix are Netflix originals, but there are still a handful of library titles that arrive as well. And as June rolls into July, we're looking at one genre specifically: horror! Now, you might be one of those folks who only watches horror around Halloween season, but any month is a good month for a horror movie — even in the middle of summer.
And as the calendar flips over from June to July, you might be craving something scary. Thankfully, Netflix will...

The Conjuring 4 – which, last we heard, was going by the title The Conjuring: Last Rites – is expected to be the final installment of the series at the heart of the Conjuring Universe… but it’s only the ending when it comes to big screen feature films. Fourteen months ago, it was announced that a The Conjuring TV series is in the works at the Max streaming service, and now Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max content, has confirmed that the show is still in development.
When asked what’s in the HBO and Max pipeline, Bloys told Variety, “One of the advantages that I think we have as a company, putting aside HBO for a second, is all the Warner Bros. IP. So after House of the Dragon, the next big tentpole series that we have coming up will be The Penguin with Colin Farrell. That...

There are currently eight films in The Conjuring Universe, and as we recently learned, a ninth movie is actively in development. Last we heard, Michael Chaves is returning to the franchise to direct The Conjuring 4, which is reportedly said to be the final installment in the main series of The Conjuring movies.
In addition to another movie, The Conjuring is also headed to the small screen. The series for Max was originally announced in April 2023, and development continues here in 2024.
Max’s Casey Bloys tells Variety this week, “There are other properties [in development] like The Conjuring, which is a big movie franchise that we’re developing into a series.”
It had been well over a year since we heard a peep about Max’s planned The Conjuring television series, so it’s good to hear it’s still being cooked up. Stay tuned for more soon.

If you like to get your nerves tickled by a scary movie and want to watch a bunch of them in a row, we’ve got some good news for you. The most chilling horror trilogy of the 21st century finally arrives on Netflix, and it has no deal with Final Destination or Paranormal Activity and The Ring franchises, it’s something even better than these ones.
Back in 2013, the world saw the first installment of this movie universe. Set in the 1970s, the movie focused on Lorraine and Ed, the duo of paranormal investigators on their way to solve the case of an isolated farmhouse that is haunted by supernatural creatures.
They are quick to realize that the house has its own macabre past, the aftermath of which is now tormenting the Perrons, who have just moved in there. Lorraine and Ed’s investigation offered the audience a number...

Full disclosure: despite loving paranormal-focused reality TV and even having lived in what most people would describe as a haunted house, I don’t actually believe in ghosts. Sure, I think that there’s some compelling evidence out there for the existence of unexplained phenomena, but the idea of ectoplasmic seances and translucent apparitions seems rather silly to me – especially when you realize how much of modern parapsychology is borrowed from popular culture.
And yet, I find myself irresistibly drawn to these tales of the unexplained, especially when the people involved swear that they aren’t works of fiction. I may not always take their word for it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I can’t have fun with a good old-fashioned ghost story. With that in mind, today I’d like to share 6 spooky ghost documentaries that I think will appeal to both believers and skeptics alike.

Several months ago, we got our first look at the “crazy vampire hunter” character Willem Dafoe plays in The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) – but we still haven’t gotten a good look at the title character, who is brought to life this time around by Bill Skarsgard (It). It would probably be for the best if we don’t see Skarsgard’s Count Orlok until the film reaches theatres on Wednesday, December 25th – but during a new interview with Esquire, the actor did discuss the process of playing the character, which he said was like conjuring pure evil.
During his conversation with Esquire, Skarsgard revealed that, during the Nosferatu production, he had to spend three to six hours every day getting the makeup and prosthetics put on so he could become Count Orlok.
