Rejoice! After years of streaming rights issues between Angel Studios and Dallas Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios, “The Chosen” has been saved by Amazon MGM Studios. In a deal with Jenkins and his production entity, Amazon MGM has picked up the streaming rights to the first five seasons of “The Chosen,” as well as the upcoming Seasons 6 and 7, all of which will be made available on Prime Video.
A new unscripted series from 5&2 called “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls” was also picked up by Prime Video as part of the deal. Additionally, the deal includes theatrical distribution for the feature-length episodes that will be part of the next two seasons. These will be the last entries in “The Chosen” series, and as such, will cover both the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Though “The Chosen” may be coming to a close, Amazon MGM is opening the door for Jenkins...

Throughout Daredevil's original run on Netflix, we slowly started seeing Wilson Fisk's influence corrupt art dealer Vanessa. The two eventually married and, by the time season 3 ended, she was pretty much a full-blown villain.
Talking to Business Insider, Ayelet Zurer - who was initially replaced in the series by Sandrine Holt before the creative overhaul - shared some intriguing details about what became of Vanessa after The Kingpin's violent clash with Daredevil.
"Since he was gone, she took over a little bit and it's very hard to pull away from that. So some things are not sitting well and they have to deal with that," the actor teased. "Things changed in their relationship. We come in after a gap of time where they also haven't been together, I won't say too much about that. But when they return, they are the very strange lovers that they are.

"An outcast who became one of the most famous kings who ever lived..." You know his name. You know the legend. Now experience the journey – if you're ready. Prime Video has unveiled an official trailer for a new Biblical epic series called House of David, telling the iconic David vs. Goliath story (from the Book of Samuel) on screen. We all know this classic fable, which is used often today as a reference for an individual taking on a corporation or government, but this is actually going back to tell the original story from history. The once-mighty King Saul falls victim to his own pride, as an outcast shepherd boy, David is anointed as the second king. This depicts Goliath as an actual giant. Newcomer Michael Iskander, who they cast after months of searching (also seen in Kimberly Akimbo on Broadway), stars as David; along with Ali Suliman as King Saul,...

Iskander was cast as the titular lead in “House of David” following a global, four-month search undertaken by Erwin, Gunn and their collaborators.

It’s perhaps the greatest underdog story next to Rocky. Heck, it’s used as a phrase to describe a match-up that seems so unevenly matched. The David and Goliath tale is one of the most popular stories in the Bible. It tells of a normal man who went up against the fiercest warrior in the land in the biggest size difference imaginable. Amazon’s House of David is a series that will retell the story in eight epic episodes. Three episodes will premiere on February 27, with one episode weekly thereafter. The trailer has just been released.

Amazon is finding more faith.
The company, via Amazon MGM Studios, has handed a cast-contingent series order to drama It’s Not Like That from Wonder Project, the nascent indie studio launched by Jon Erwin and Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten last year.
It is the latest series order for the studio, which caters to faith audiences, after scoring a series order for House of David earlier this year.
It’s Not Like That follows Lori, who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm’s a minister and recently widowed dad of three. Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Is this the beginning of a love story? It’s not like that. Or is it?
The series comes from Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, who created the series and serve as showrunners.

Greek officials sought to reassure local and foreign producers this week at the Thessaloniki Film Festival that the country’s 40% cash rebate is still on track, after the announcement last month that the Mediterranean nation was delaying plans to reopen its popular incentive scheme.
That decision came after Greece pressed pause on its cash-back program in May to clear more than €100 million ($107 million) in outstanding debts. Greek officials now insist the program is set to resume in January, with Leonidas Christopoulos, CEO of state audiovisual body Creative Greece, insisting the further delay was necessary for the government to square its accounts.
“You cannot be credible — especially abroad — if you have a huge backlog and reopen the platform,” Christopoulos told Variety. “It wouldn’t be credible.”

The Greek government has further delayed reopening the country’s popular 40% tax rebate for international film and TV productions until January 2025 as it strives to clear a funding backlog and receive a fresh budget.
The rebate has been closed for new applications since May 1. It was expected to formally reopen on October 1, administered by the newly-created Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Centre - Creative Greece (Hfac-Creative Greece).
However, Screen understands international film and TV productions hoping to shoot in Greece this year have been assured by Leonidas Christopoulos, CEO of Hfac-Creative Greece, they will be still able to access the rebate.

A new faith-based film fund has been set up by former Im Global executive Alexandros Potter and filmmaker Yelena Popovic, behind the hugely successful 2021 drama “Man of God,” about the Greek saint Nectarios of Aegina.
Simeon Faith, one of a number of new announcements in the faith-based film world in recent months, is a dedicated equity film fund focused on financing and producing what it describes as “talent-driven, high-end artistic and commercial fare with strong elements of faith for a global audience.”
The new fund aims to finance one to two films per year over the next four years. The first project on the slate is “Moses the Black,” a story of a gangster in modern day Chicago that is inspired by the fourth-century saint of the same name. The film is scheduled to go into production this year, with Popovic as writer and director.

Until recently, filmmaker Jon Erwin was the reigning box-office champ for faith-based films with “I Can Only Imagine” and “Jesus Revolution.” Shortly after “Sound of Freedom” opened to $14.2 million, he offered advice to Angel Studios on how it might capitalize that success.
By November, when the child-trafficking drama grossed $250 million worldwide, Erwin lost his bragging rights. He remembers joking with the producers, “It wasn’t supposed to work this much!”
Ego aside, he welcomed the success. As “Sound of Freedom” inspired box-office think pieces and conspiracy-theory controversy, Erwin and partner Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten were in talks with Amazon Studios. Today, their company The Wonder Project is producing a slate of faith-based series and films; Erwin said he’d “be lying” if he believed “Sound of Freedom” didn’t help him get a better deal.
“I had not felt that hunger from the studios in a long time to reach the audience,...
