Synesthesia is when a brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing an individual to experience more than one sense simultaneously. For instance, people with synesthesia may experience colors when listening to music or certain sounds, see shapes when smelling certain scents, or perceive tastes when looking at words. Synesthesia is not a disease or a medical condition, but it can be a symptom of certain brain-related conditions. Experts estimate at least 4% of people worldwide experience it. However, that number may be higher because there are so many possible forms of synesthesia.
The film was included in the 2023 Black List.
The production marks the feature directorial debut of writer-director, Zach Strauss.
