It made me cry !
This film a treat for a human mind which always wants a square in life..!
This film teaches us that Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans. Hats off to Ishaan Katter, Malvika and of course Director Majidi.
Suggestion for viewers:- Watch it at night...watch it alone !
You will start apprenticing your life and will never curse the life for what you don't have.
A must watch !!

Heart Touching
Indeed a great attempt by the genius. He's always real, natural with rich blend of human emotions. I always loved watching his movies and this movie shows the plight of the very poor in Mumbai or Bombay streets, most applicable to all metros in India.

Great cinematic experience with script make is worth watch
Direction:
Famous Iranian filmmaker and prestigious award winner Majid Majidi want to recreate the magic of his movie children of Heaven with Indian backdrop. He showcase his cinematic excellence on Canvas and walls. The best thing about his direction is brilliantly capture human emotions especially sibling bonding.
Performance:
This movie is really great debut for Ishaan Khatter. His acting was really awesome through out the movie. Malavika Mohanan looks good in the role of elder sister. G.V. Sharda also impressive with only Tamil dialogues. There was very little scope for Tannishtha Chatterjee as supporting role due to short length of role.
Script:
Story line has great resemblance with Hollywood film Slumdog millionaire however this movie failed to reach that label. Great inclusion of Sibling bonding, friendship, betrayal and common human emotions in script. Climax left many questions unanswered and that's why this is different cinema.
Music:
A.R.Rahman has collaborated with Majid Majidi second time after Muhammad: The Messenger of God. Song "Ala Re Ala" was good one.
Box-office:
As this is low budget movie, so box-office collection will not be a bog concern. Starting day collection was lower than expected collection however it will gain the momentum in the coming days.
Last Words:
Please avoid this movie if you hate artistic approach in cinema.

Predictable but good, overall.
My Rating : 6/10
It's not a mainstream film, that's for certain, it's more a 'festival' film I suppose which means that it's open to interpretation and rough around the edges.
I found the plot predictable, there are a couple of really well-acted scenes and the cinematography takes advantage of Mumbai's highly urban settings.
Nice film, albeit niche and not for everyone.

A realistic flick for a cinema lover!
Genre : Drama
Duration : 120 Minutes
Ishaan Khatter : Much known as the younger brother of Shahid Kapoor, is fantastic as a debutant. He completely nails the character of Aamir. He deeply performs all the emotions that a talented actor could bring out. Malavika Mohanan : She plays Tara, who is Aamir's sister. Her screen presence is equally strong. She complemented Ishaan well.
Story : The plot is centered around a brother and sister relationship, however it also teaches us that whatever happens in life, we should always be humble and kind towards others. The story & direction by Majid Majidi is beautiful but felt slightly lengthy in the last half hour. It is indeed an eye opener for audiences wanting to see the real Mumbai.
Music : The tracks & Background sound by AR Rahman are of a different league. No Favorites.
Overall, Beyond The Clouds is one of those realistic flicks, which every cinema lover should definitely watch.

Broken hearts are comfort for each others
This is a heart touching film and it shows how doing good in dark times will become a light to lead you to light. Ishaan Khattar and Dhwani Rajesh shines in their respective rolls and the direction of Majid Majidi was just spot on. The movie do bring out the good in me and makes me want a better person in my life. Please do watch this as this could be the best from Bollywood in the year 2018.
Beyond the Clouds should not be the movie to enter Majid Majidi's cinematic adventure.
When it comes to international cinema, we have all, at some point in our lives, heard about Majid Majidi.
I discovered this on YTS when I made the decision to watch one of his films.
I then realized that I had seen a commercial for this movie on &Prive, although I had no idea it was Majid Majidi's movie.
I immediately freaked out when I noticed Ishan Khattar and Goutam Ghose on the cast.
And made the decision to watch this movie as my first Majid Majidi movie.
There were some positive and negative aspects to Beyond the Clouds. (In my personal Opinion)
The good ones being..... >>> The movie was expertly filmed. I thought the establishment shot was fantastic.
>>> Also, the color had a light, neutral tone, which made it appear more natural.
>>> The film had very little background music, which Mr. AR Rehman very discreetly added when it was absolutely necessary.
The bad ones being..... >>> The story was not very motivating to watch. It seemed like a lot of effort was being put into having the audience care about the characters, but it lacked vision.
>>> The casting relied very heavily on the appearance of the characters. Which was not at all justified by the acting. Despite the actor Malavika Mohanan's good expression, the delivery of her dialogues was unsteady. That appeared to be quite rehearsed and robotic. Even Amir's friend's acting skills were lacking.
Ishan Khattar delivered everything he had, in my opinion, but even he occasionally lost his composure.
>>> The film's story felt lost somewhere in driving the plot. And became unpredictable in a bad way.
In a nutshell, Beyond the Clouds should not be the movie to enter Majid Majidi's cinematic adventure.

BEYOND THE CLOUDS-BUT I CANT SEE THE SUN
Like Children Of Heaven, this film also focuses on the relationship between a brother and his sister, the difference that in Beyond The Clouds, the siblings are grown ups.Is this a sufficiently Majidi work ? I guess child actors, focus on relationships, good photography and a feeling of overall optimism are the main features of Majidi cinema.A strong storyline has never been his forte,it is in the treatment of subject that the master scores high.In these senses,it is a typical Majid Majidi film.
Fellow Iranian Asghar Farhadi has won two Oscars in the past few years.Perhaps ,Majidi harbours similar ambitions. This is why he came to India to make a universal film, based in Mumbai slums .But not everybody can be as lucky as Danny Boyle.Majidi aimed for the transcendental in his previous film,Muhammad-The Messanger Of God,but was not able to set the world on fire.Even the setting of this film could have been anywhere. The vices shown are global, and virtues universal. Ishan Khatter plays a drug runner and an orphan ,who has a difficult relationship with his sister, played by Malvika Mohanan. The latter ends up in jail on charges of attempt to murder a potential rapist Gautam Ghose (how brilliant !) .The brother tries to keep the injured man alive, takes care of his family, tries to secure his sister's release and somehow survive on Mumbai streets. In a short runtime,Majidi manages to showcase a myriad of human emotions.IK sometimes overdoes his anger, but emotes well ,comes across as a sincere, earnest guy and dances as good as his brother.Even in a dud like Dhadak,he had managed to leave a good mark, and here he has shown through the clouds.G Ghose has been wasted in a cameo,as has been Tannishtha Chatterjee. Two child artists have been acted in the film. The thing about them is that they rarely perform perfectly, but are mostly honest in front of the camera. The director is a tad too affected, what with a lot of emphasis on motifs and symbols like pigeons and coops, marshes and streets showing the underbelly, silhouttes, colours of holi and those painted on the wall .Majid Majidi has tried too hard to make a beauty of an artwork, but unfortunately has failed to make a very good film. Watch it for IK,and understanding of relationships.Do not watch it in the hope of unearthing a Majidi classic, since it falls short.

A must see movie!
One of the best Indian movies I've seen. Great story and very engaging. It's dramatic, funny and heartwarming. I highly recommend!
true n sordid picture of #Mumbai
#BeyondTheClouds is watchable because it paints the true n sordid picture of #Mumbai. It shows how this city treats its innocent n vulnerable kids, how they r forced to make some wrong choices in life n how their future appears bleak. Its essentially a brother-sister story. The sister is jailed n the brother tries his best to get her released. Their struggle is well depicted. Full marks to director Majidi n cinematographer Mehta for their sincere efforts. Good performances by Khatter n Mohanan. Rating 3/5.
Over Rated !!!
This is just regular Bollywood drama without dance & item song, Over rated because of Majid movie. History, script got hole...should have been better
Majid never disappoints
This is not among Majid's best works but it is still very watchable and heads and shoulders above most Bollywood films. It is a moving story of two families whose lives get entwined after a desperate girl injures an obsessed man whilst defending herself. Majid is a genius at weaving moments of hope and joy amidst a bleak backdrop. The acting is top notch and Ishaan emotes well - a solid start for a debutant. The movie fared poorly at the box office as is often the case for little gems with no 'face value'. Ishaan is a newcomer and Majid is not known outside the festival circuit in India. Thank goodness for Netflix though - it provides a platform for such movies to reach a much wider audience.

No Story
Wasted my couple of hours. Story didn't move and plot had a few gaps.
Aksi's mom and kids could have gone to Aksi's place to live instead of living on street.

Movie with more realistic !
First of all I would like to say Triple Congratulations to the director, hero and heroine of the movie. Hero has lot of talents and shown up in the movie (especially I like the robot dance steps) and Heroine acted very good in all different role plays.
Big Salute to the director and enlightened the risk of being more alcoholic persons, dealing with drugs and using ladies for fun objects. Some of the scenes are shown through the Shadow that is really mesmerizing.
I liked the movie very much and big salute to the entire team!! Well done guys!

Wowwo !!!
One of the best movie I have seen in recent time.. what a cast. Everyone was looking so comfortable and suitable for their roles. Specially the child actors who played the role of a akshi's daughters ... Ishan khattar you just amazed me with you acting skills I know this movie hardly earn in India. But this movie is something everyone should watch .
To the director - one of the best cinematographic experience I felt watching this movie. You totally nailed it. Bit disappointed in the climax where you can explain things in much better way but you just left it as it as and that I feel not in this but all off beat movies.. well still it's one of the must watch movie ..kudos to the entire team. Wowoo wowo

There are great lessons to be learned from this film
I really enjoyed watching and thinking about the story and content of this film. Kudos to the all the actors involved in this project. Each role was thoughtfully and convincingly portrayed. The lessons learned are that there are many kinds of families, some by birth, others through unavoidable circumstances of life, and forgiveness makes anything bearable.
"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." - Rumi
The only reason I wanted to watch this movie was the director, "Majid Majidi". He is one of my favorite director.
As expected, I was more than satisfied after watching the movie. He knows how much emotion is needed. Never too much never too less. He puts the emotion at the right place and at the right time. King of tragic endings. Kind of helplessness he brings, shows how deeply he has analyzed the situation before showing it on screen. Be it any movie Children of heaven, The Song of Sparrows or Baran, he never failed to touch our hearts(mine atleast).
Acting wise, everyone of them was able to convince. For me the person who wasn't acting at all was "Asha". She was raw and natural. Her expressions when she was scared of Amir, when she was uncomfortable and shy when he was clicking her photo and many more. Even though Akshi had very few dialogues in the movie, he has done a brilliant job with his facial expressions.

Soul Enriching.
Seriously even the words i pour from my mouth in the praise of this movie would seem to be injustice. One of the best cinematic experience ever, depiction of poor areas and brothels are peerless. And the best scene was when the main character Amir is sleeping under the bed of patient, Akshi, and later awoken by little girl, Asha, and the same scene is repeated but this time Asha is sleeping under the bed. Director is depicting situation, mentality and the psyche of characters in the most prominent and powerful way. Soul enriching.

One of the best film
#MovieReview: Beyond The Clouds
"You couldn't just pick and choose at will when someone depended on you, or loved you. It wasn't like a light switch, easy to turn on or off. If you were in, you were in. Out, you were out." -Sarah Dessen, Along for the Ride
"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." -Charles Dickens
I just can't say anything! Probably the best film I have watched ever.
The rustic setting, the honest hearts, the complexity of relationships, the up & down, the layers, brilliant on screen performance, #MajidMajidi's legendary direction, #ARRahman's heart melting score, will surely transfer you beyond the clouds.
A masterpiece which will kiss your soul and leave you mesmerized.

Excellent movie, highly underrated!
Me and my wife were watching 'Koffee with Karan' where Karan was hosting Shahid and his brother Ishaan. I love Shahid a lot and based on his suggestion in the show ended up watching this movie.
My comment is not biased based on what Shahid mentions but Ishaan has got talent. I hope he gets through all the challenges and does well in future. I wish him to concentrate on his career and be the best he can be.
Thank you Majid sir for this amazing treat. Loved the movie. Sad that the movie is so underrated and very few know about it.

Every Living Person should watch this
Every Human Being should watch this...
A movie for being a Human on this earth.
A BEAUTIFUL Film By Majid Majidi.
If I describe this movie with one word I'll say it's beautiful. The character of Ishan Khattar was like Jesse from Breaking Bad, loved the character as well as Ishan's brilliant acting. I'm watching Malavika Mohanan first time and she was damn good in the film.
Every character was facing serious problems in the film but they all were trying to find their happiness in it. Their happy faces will make you smile. That's the best thing of this film.
