Actors Dave Cartwright and Jeremy Vranich maintained their "looks" for nearly 3 years, until their scenes were wrapped.
Much of the costuming, props, and set-dressing was created using found objects, that were continually being collected throughout production. For example, items such as plastic juice bottles, hockey gloves, and hubcaps we're some objects used to create the "Hubcap Men" and sci-fi characters wardrobes.
During production actor Brant McCrea was struck in the face with a ladder in his off-time and chipped his tooth. His chipped tooth is noticeable when McCrea confronts his "evil" self in the cemetery towards the end of the film.
No special fx or camera tricks were used in the Calamity Jane musical intro, actress Rachel Williams was actually placed into a safety harness and driven down Lake Shore Drive at 50 mph while she played piano and sang, in character. The temperature this day hovered around freezing.
