Richard's last will brings a big surprise: in addition to granddaughter Karen, her father Adrian and friend Iris each get a third of his lodge. Instead of being happy about the inheritance, the air is thick at first. Because everyone has better plans than continuing the guest house in Vancouver Bay together. Through an ambitious investor, Iris is presented with an enticing opportunity to reopen her bankrupt upscale restaurant in the city. Adrian, who is a pilot by trade, doesn't see himself as a hostel father either. Even Karen, who has lived there all her life, would love to flee to Australia with her share of the inheritance and daring lover Josh.
