Johnny 3 Tears is a member of the popular band "Hollywood Undead".
Ben Edlin who stars as Dylan originally came in to read for the part of Maxi. Jeff and Amber wanted to see him, as Maxi. Highway to Havasu being Ben's first audition ever in Hollywood, Jeff asked him via email if he would be open to read for the roles of Billy and Dylan. Edlin, after reading via Skype with Director Jeff Janke, Jeff asked Edlin which character he felt he best fit for the film, as Janke liked the way he read, to which Edlin replied; "I think the character of Billy fits me better." Jeff felt that Edlin was more perfect for the role of Dylan and after seeing a video submission by Andrew Fromer aka "Billy, Jeff and Amber knew they found two of their leading boys for Highway.
The character "Freind" aka "Friend" played by Saif Schexnaydre, originally came to read for the role of Max. Janke liked what he saw in him, however he knew he wasn't right for the part. After Janke decided to write a new scene upon the boys arrival to Havasu, with a funny character, Janke wrote the part of "Friend" specifically for him. After writing the part, Amber Goetz (Producer) and Janke (Writer/Director) looked up his info Saif provided at casting. Not able to read his name, phone number, or email due to really bad hand writing, Janke and Goetz spent about 2 weeks trying to find their perfect choice to play Friend.
The "Beware of Tits" sign used in filming was stolen shortly after production wrapped. It's whereabouts are unknown.
Jeff Janke the Writer/Director originally wrote the first draft of Highway to Havasu in 3 days and held his first casting the same week he wrote it. After many rounds of casting, Jeff re-wrote the whole film for the actors he casted and also wrote in new characters for people who auditioned for him such as the part of Zach, Brandon, Freind, Officer Gunnette and Cash Tag.
