This movie was definitely not my cup of tea. In fact, I only managed to endure 50 minutes of the ordeal before I turned it off out of complete and utter boredom.
There simply was nothing interesting to the storyline, nor the characters, and I quickly lost interest in the movie, but still, I opted to give it a chance and managed to endure 50 minutes. But the movie was just lacking on all fronts, and there was nothing entertaining here for me.
Initially, when I saw that it was Ice T that was on the cast list, I was ready to skip on the movie. Yeah, I can't claim to be much of a fan of him neither in movies nor music.
But still, it was a vampire movie, so I decided to watch it. But turned out that the vampire aspect was a mere backdrop to the movie.
I am rating "Bloodrunners" three out of ten stars, solely because it did have some adequate production value. But for terms of entertainment, then this movie failed to provide any for me.

Right of the bat, i could not tell if this was prohibition 2020 or the 1920s. Getting mixed signal about that direction there. You also get to meet Ice T with a big fat diamond earring which i guess men back then wear. The dialogue from the first officer yapping away sounds 20th century. The editing where the singer performs one song had multiple annoying dissolves. And then we are back to the past when the waitress talks with 1920s accent. Confused... could not watch it. Oh don't forget the vampire who did the matrix move in the bed scene.
Now if this movie is told and shot and edited.. in the classic way, i bet there is a descent movie in there somewhere. I have to fail this one. Next project please

Oh poor Ice T, how the mighty have fallen. The overall story had some merit & the setting of vampires "running" blood out of a small town, that finally drives them out (sort of) was intriguing enough to warrant a watch. But I was wrong. The dialog = atrocious. Acting = worse. Action scenes were beyond silly. Attention to details (see goofs) was awful. Ice T was still a presence - but why was he in this?

This movie really isn't very good. At all. Acting is terrible, dialogue really bad. I LIKE low-budget, cheesy vampire flicks, and this was just. Bad. All around. Hey it other people liked it, more power to them, but I almost gave up watching it a couple times. I don't get why the rating is so high, I've watched 4 star flicks I've enjoyed much, much more.
Was this produced by a middle school student? The cinematography and editing is below elementary. The plot was, well I'm not sure there was a plot. I struggled to get through this, waiting for it all to come together. How did Ice-T get involved with this film? Extremely disappointed.

I loved this movie. It's entertaining and not too serious.
I liked the Prohibition theme and mixing vampires with rum running was a clever idea.
Ice-T is as expected. The other cast were mostly good. The action scenes worked.
I found it to be a perfect way to kill a few hours.
Not the best, but better than most movies in this genre.

Something different. I never saw a vampire movie in the gangster - prohibition setting. The movie is about a corrupt cop and his partner taking money from all the corrupt rackets in town. The try to shake down a speakeasy run by Ice-T and all hell breaks loose.
Decent action sequences, vampire action kept to a minimum, but used to great effect when done.
There are some subplots is about a young caught in the middle of the conflict and the World War 1 trauma of the lead character. There is a funny priest in there too.
Pacing is fast and the weak spots are glossed over pretty well. In all, I found it to be both entertaining and engaging.

For low budget movies, this thing is nothing short of a miracle. It looks like it had a bigger budget than $180K. The sets, the costumes, the props, the number of locations.... the writer/director/cinematographer/production designer, Dan Lantz pulled a rabbit out of his hat. The writer/producer, Adam Danoff must have pulled every favor from every person he knew. I have to applaud the sheer task accomplished.
The story, acting, plot are your run-of-the mill horror comedy fare, nothing unique (but not in a bad way). It just not something you'd expect to see from such a small budget.

When I saw the post, I thought this was gonna be another one of those SyFy movies, but it actually had a plot and good acting. It's more of a story about corruption cops and rival gangsters... who happen to be vampires.
Ice-T is his usual Bad-Ass self. The cop is pretty intense and the love story ain't too bad either.
The fact that it is a period piece and an Indy film is amazing, the cars, sets and clothes are really good. Worth Watching.

In a popular speakeasy, Jack Malone, a dirty cop, haunted by nightmares of war, finds a new location to shake down. But there's a presence within the walls of the club, run by Chesterfield, played by Ice-T. When Malone comes to collect his "luxury tax" he and his partner incite a small war against a den of vampires.
The movie is amazing, the style is sweet and the costume design is on point- I loved it all! The originality is what really keeps this movie entertaining. Running blood, a much-craved liquid via the underground, by vamps, is a pretty wild idea, making Bloodrunners and exciting surprise and electrifying!
Other than watching a vampire get staked in the shoulder, but later spotted with it in the center of his chest, I found nothing wrong with the movie. It's classy, well put together and the special effects are vigorous and enjoyable.
Take a look at Bloodrunners, releasing later in 2017.

A dirty cop starts to believe that his town is controlled
by a group of vampires. I try not to take this kind of movies
too serious, and you shouldn't either.

Ice-frigging-T as a vampire? Sign me up. A friend told me about this movie... it was apparently made in my home town (or nearby). It has Ice-T in it! The movie looks really good - I had no idea it was an Indy movie until someone told me. The movie looks like it was from the 1930s. Great sets, costumes and cars - especially the cars. Did I mention Ice-T? OK, i gotta confess, just seeing Ice-T do his "Ice-T impression" in the movie, but as a gangster and vampire, made it worth watching.... awesome.

Exactly what I thought it was gonna be... which is not a bad thing. Ice-T plays a big baddie and Michael McFadden plays a crooked cop. Both the hero and villain are bad guys, so the filmmakers added a young couple to be the poor suckers caught up in the battle.
The movie is fast paced and is a-typical in that there is some decent drama mixed in with Vampires and gun fights.
I recommend

What can I say? The concept alone is right off the SyFy channel. However, the acting of a few of the characters was decent. Ice-T was better than expected. Mike MacFeddan was a not too bad as the crooked cop. Peter Patrakios chewed up the scenery with no control over his inner monologue. Chris Jame Boylin was a sexy beast who's handyman skills made the movie worth watching.
Surprisingly, the movie was better than expected and the end built to a fulfilling climax. It wasn't a waste of time after all... I may even watch it again.

Not enough Vampire action to be considered a "true" vampire movie, but there was a decent story about corruption, gangsters, prohibition, prostitutes and young lovers. I'd say it is more of a thriller with vampires than a pure horror flick. None the less, it is noble effort. Worth mentioning - the sets, props and costumes are pretty impressive for such a low budget.

Nice twist on the gangster thing. Vampires running blood disguised as moonshine. The story weaves several plots and they all are pretty well served for the most part. Ice-T as a vampire was a cool twist, but I'm not so sure about him wearing an earring. I don't know if that was intentional or if they forgot to take it off or if they just wanted Ice-T to be "Ice-T"
Otherwise, most of the props, sets, costumes and cars felt like they were from the period. There was little racial commentary, but not really explored much. The filmmakers kept it light and entertaining, which is fine, but I would have liked to see them explore the whole Black guy running a club in the 1930s thing... could've elevated the movie to a higher level.
That being said, for what it is, it is entertaining enough to watch again.

So basically, "Bloodrunners" is about a bunch of gangsters in the prohibition era who are vampires. It sounds stupid, but the film ends up being (surprisingly) a bit of fun to watch.
Not only that, its dialogue and acting is cheesy, its special effects aren't that good, and it looks pretty low budget. Somehow, the film holds up from all of these problems. One of the pros come from its nicely done pacing.
It's simple fun. Don't go into it expecting it to be the next "Godfather". It's not the best, it's actually very far from the best, but it's just simple movie fun.
Overall, if you're looking a quick and cool movie experience, you can watch this. 6/10.
