A corpse in the forest is identified as one of the rookie members of a 'prepper' seminar. It's organized by Walter Sobchak, who is hard core into learning how to survive after the Apocalypse, with his own well-stuffed bunker. The team goes through the participants, but also discovers foul competition in the sale of prepper supplies. Meanwhile Heidrun Hoffmann seeks her own office, further compromises the official assignment to Ko, who even applies for forensics. Erwin shares it as junk storage with Günter, who now transfers there much of the old stuff his wife wants cleared from their basement kitchen, possibly to start a catering business.

The corpse is identified as biochemistry student Ann Katrin Kaiser, who made fatal fall using her hobby parkour techniques, but not in training hall, and pushed, during a failed cat robbery. Edwin can't resist rejoining the team, investigating Ann's steady boy friend Till Rosen, whose baby she expected, and two more parkour mates, fellow bank intern Klas and German languages student Lara. Ann robbed only clients of the boys' bank.

Hui discovers he was a regular client a dominatrix studio, whose client list includes the police chief. Coroner Rosalind Schmidt volunteers for an undercover mission, which proves crucially dangerous.

Günter duly suspects Edwin of enjoying being waited on hand and foot by Heidrun to doge dreary dusty files work. Indeed Edwin returns to the precinct when the corpse is found of apparently relapsed ex-junkie Julius Grating, who seemingly started dealing the drugs found on him in the youth center where he volunteered. Julius was thrown out by his despairing parents, but model-brother Bastian Grating, a self-supporting law student, swears he achieved full detox by taking Julius in for months, which his autopsy confirms. The team must trace he drugs and work out who set up who and why.

On zoo visit with father Thomas Schauer and grandpa Georg Schauer, four year-old diabetic Finn disappears. Günter having back surgery on mission abroad and the missing persons PD section immobilized by a virus, Edwin, Vicky and Hui Ko take the case. Thomas and Finn's separated Swedish mother, who plans a return to Göteburg, both filed for sole custody. Security footage shows Finn with stranger Gisela Carstens. Edwin also stands in for Günter to help Hanno and Tina handle pre-teen son Joschua being accused of abducting a classmate.
