Malaterra

We associate the French with flair. There was none here. It was a pedestrian remake of the UK series Broadchurch. I wish I'd visited the IMDB page before starting to watch. After fifteen minutes of cliffs, bad dreams, lady cop getting leapfrogged on the career ladder and a child found on the beach, things were beginning to look queasily familiar. By the end of the episode I was sure it was based on the other series.

To be honest, I didn't care much for the original but this really was worse. The locations were stunning and the people beautiful, as was the town it was set in, but there was no real spark.

After the end of episode one I went back to the opening credits to see what I could dig up. Yep, in small letters, we are told that this is a remake of Broadchurch.

If one has to watch, try the original with subtitles or dubbed if doing so, not this remake . I wouldn't recommend any of them.
