What a Disconnect
Caitlyn, Caitlyn, Caitlyn. Really?
A 10 for coming out as your real self. A 2 for still having the brain of a privileged white man. You've been living with this your whole life and you still have no clue what life is like in America as a woman? Or as an LGBTQ? The homophobia? The transgender hatred? The misogyny? The economic imbalance? The Republican fear mongering? Really? What kind of a rock have you been living under? Thanks and rotten tomatoes to E! for this wholly unsatisfying series. On the one hand it is beyond fabulous to detail the coming out of a celebrity as it moves the cultural conversation forward like nothing else. But on the other hand.... somebody please school Miss Caitlyn in depth ASAP. She's embarrassing herself and making things worse for the transgender community at the same time.

Hackneyed and flawed.
I am cait is one of those documentaries that will make you want to throw up before you watch it, this is one of the most hackneyed and completely flawed shows i've ever seen, caitlyn jenner (formally bruce jenner) looks lost in this mess, this is from the same idiotic network called E! that gave us the idiotic keeping up with the kardashians and other perverted nonsense that would make 19 kids and counting look like Jesus it's a story of man name bruce who becomes a woman and the rest as you know are history, there is nothing to this junk, just trangenderism, silly plots, tiresome looks and everything in between, although that is not nearly as trash as white people, but it's pretty close. this is one of the worst television of the year and i'm giving it a D+

Just another crap "Reality" TV Show
Is this seriously how low prime time has sunk? Another crap reality show? A has been washed up sports star who is irrelevant finds fame in being famous for coming out the closet? Seems he is more interested in exploring his paycheck options than his sexuality. I feel sorry for trans gender people having this as what's perceived to be their spokesperson! What a self centered attention whoring uninspiring douche bag, money and fame hungry knob head. So after watching the first episode of this I can tell that was enough for me! I am sick of hearing about Jenner this and Kardashian that! The trans gender issue is a real issue, but I can watch it dealt in a more positive way by watching it in a drama Series like Transparent then this bull crap! CAIT should have only done an hour long sit down or at the most a two hour documentary rather than sit and whine that her family isn't even promoting her show! Really? Be thankful your family even accepts you - you ungrateful person.
How a rich person deals with being trans
Watching a team of people doing Cait's hair and makeup while another person tells her that they have picked out 3 outfits for her to choose from for today. Good grief.
Then we get to see her anxieties over her decision to become trans and to see her mom for the first time after the big decision.
One episode was more than enough. It's a rich person explaining that they have real life problems as well. While true, it's difficult to listen to her problems while teams of people waite on her all day long in her mansion. Joke about having to wear a sports bra while playing tennis in her backyard court.
Yes, rich people have problems too but I don't want to watch them struggle with them while living a life of privilege and extreme wealth.

Worst reality show...
After watching an episode and the comparing some of the reviews given here makes me wonder if Cait's PR team are bombarding with 5 star reviews on IMDb. The show is unwatchable. I am not surprised the ratings for this show is going down. There's nothing in it; apart from a person who had a sex change now trying out ladies costumes all day along. And combined with non-stop pointless articles everyday, this is becoming such a pain. I am not a big fan of reality shows but I can say without a doubt this has been the most boring, pointless show in the telly in recent days. I kind of feel sorry for the Kardarshian family for going through this.
Amazing.
I feel like nobody's taken into consideration how brave she actually is. Many people are transphobic, it's so hard to come out publicly. Super inspiring. Caitlyn's my hero. I won't give any spoiler's -- But honestly it's pure amazing. I know it's inspired so many people. For 3 reasons: She's taking so much hate for the sake of our generation. I have a lot more respect for the kardashian family. And she's so brave. Love it. I hope that many more people can feel comfortable with their identity and their gender, and I also hope that more people can accept transgender people. I hope that the message gets out -- it's okay to be who you are, no matter what your gender or sexuality is. Absolutely, positively love it.
Cait, You are an Inspiration!
The Transgender community continues to receive a lot of criticism from time to time, with very few support. Ranging from people who simply doesn't like it to others who absolutely loathe it...etc. Bruce Jenner ( Referring to her as her former self ) was a star athlete back in the day. She gained a lot of success and fame. She later starred in a very popular show that I'm sure we're all familiar with "Keeping up with the Kardashians". It's safe to say that not many people understand well or are willing to grasp the reason behind her huge life- changing decision to fully transition into a woman. I could go on but let me just get to the point; Caitlyn Jenner has helped shed some light into the transgender community, now many more people are becoming more aware and educated about it. You may disagree, refuse to support or understand her story, it still doesn't change the great amount of impact that her story now has on those who've heard of it, and also the important message that it has behind it.
She is now 65 years old, it's not just something that she made up her mind about overnight. This is something that Caitlyn must've have thought about every second of her long life. While some may see this as a selfish act, and I do know that not only will her family and friends be affected in someway by her decision, it will also impact America greatly. This shows courage, to be able to come to light, and share this with the world knowing that not everyone will understand or support her decision and that it might ruin her athlete reputation as well. This may not be the sort of courage that a soldier must have in order to go into battle but it's still courage.
Caitlyn, you are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story with the world. A person's happiness is very important to them, it is the very important key to being able to find meaning in their lives. If Cait truly felt like that it would be almost impossible to continue living within a man's body when she truly felt and was a woman inside, then, so be it. It is her body, and if it made her happy then that's what mattered truly.

Goodbye Bruce! Hello Caitlyn!
Well I had my doubts about this reality focusing on Bruce Jenner's transformation to Caitlyn Jenner. It was actually enjoyable and enlightening. For about forty years, Bruce Jenner was a part of our culture. He is a household name and now he is becoming a she. As a society, we are coming to terms with the transformation from male Bruce to female Caitlyn. She does seem more comfortable than as Bruce. The first episode features Caitlyn meeting his mother and two youngest daughters. I would encourage to auction off Bruce's clothes to benefit charity. It would raise lots of money. Caitlyn is quite brutally honest and candid even more so here. We get the real person behind Caitlyn. If Bruce had done this transformation thirty years ago, we would have been shocked. We have changed in society. Maybe that's a good thing, let and let live.

Beautiful Woman, Beautiful Show
Beautiful first episode, I love the focus on transgender teens and the hardships of being transgender. I found it so heart breaking that the suicide rate among transgender individuals is so high, even higher than the national average. I feel that the facts and statistics within this show may turn some around on their out-of-date belief of what it means to be transgender. I also hope that this show will help transgender individuals, their friends and families, and the general public to learn how important it is to abide by preferred pronouns, as well as support and love the individual for who they are. As we can see from the other "reviews" and "ratings", our society has a long way to go until acceptance but this is a great first step! My heart goes out to Cait, and I wish her the best! Can't wait to see where she goes with the rest of this season and I hope she continues the community outreach!
I was excited to hear this show was coming
And, I wasn't disappointed. I watched Bruce's transformation into Cait and was so happy for her. I was hoping the show wouldn't be exploitative, and it isn't.
It isn't just Cait trying on clothes all day, as a former reviewer stated. It isn't even about her transition, it's a lens in which to view the trans community. This show will be polarizing. Some will like it and others will hate it.
How one views Cait Jenner says a lot about how they feel about the trans community and other LGB folk. The conversations online it comment sections is heart rending. So much hate spewed, it really makes them uncomfortable that someone wanted to change their body to match their mental gender.
I applaud Cait taking on trans issues for the whole community. She is a role model, a with her she brings the Kardashian celebrity baggage. Some have wondered if she can be an effective voice for the community. They cite her money and ease of transition as not being representive of the experience of most trans folk. I don't have an answer to all of this. Only the future will tell us how well she carries the mantle.
This show gets people talking. It weeds out the haters from the supporters. I love the accepting and celebratory vibe from the show. It's about time trans folk felt like they could be open and proud of who they are. I bet it will kick off many name change parties in the future!

Insider's view on real transgender issues
I decided to watch I Am Cait because I just finished reading Jennifer Boylan's wonderful memoir, She's Not There, which details her journey to self acceptance and her transition from male to female. Boylan went on a road trip with Caitlyn Jenner this fall for Caitlyn's reality show, so I decided to watch episode 2 (The Road trip part 1), which features 5-6 trans women traveling from LA to the headquarters of Human Rights Campaign in San Francisco. The entire point of this episode is to expose Caitlyn to other trans women who are not living in a privileged socio-economic bubble and to educate her about the important issues facing the trans community. Boylan and the other trans women in this episode make a series of considerate, well informed observations about the ways that Caitlyn might be able to make a real difference for the trans community. This is not fluffy or mindless entertainment, and I plan to watch episode 3, The Road Trip part 2, to continue my own education.

Brave insight into Caitlyn's transition!!
I really love the show for being so open and brutally honest about his feelings of wanting to transition! So many men even at his age of 65 and to say I want to transition is very brave and not the social norm!
Its great to be able to see andd hear about trans people in California! It was important to see diferent types of trans women, from the White and Black community, but both are still experiencing a lot of difficulties in thir lives!
When hearing about the each persons expeirence of tring to live in 'Normal society', was so sjhocking and awful to hear! That certain trans people had been bullied at school, but had a tough time to study at university and that so many are unable to find jobs! But hopefully this show sheds light on the issue and there is so much hardship that Trans people go through. Makes me respect them more and hope that each year things get better! :)
