We bring you a compilation of beautiful melodies from Malayalam cinema that speak about the anguish of lost love, about those memories that are too deep and profound to get over and a heart that seems to take its own sweet time to heal. 1. 'Kaathirunnu Kaathirunnu' from Ennu Ninte Moideen (2016): A song that encapsulates Moideen (Prithviraj) and Kanchanamala’s (Parvathy) love story, as they correspond mostly over handwritten love letters, their endless patient wait to unite despite family opposition. CinemaTo be shot mostly in Hindi, the film will be a multi-lingual project and will feature actors across industries.Digital NativeDigital NativeIn January earlier this year, it was announced that actor Vikram will be part of Rs 300 magnum opus Karnan, to be directed by Rs Vimal, best known for helming Ennu Ninte Moideen. Soon after the announcement, Vikram took to Instagram to make the announcement and it was followed by a statement which confirmed the project will go on the floors from October this year and the release is planned for December 2019. To be shot mostly in Hindi, the film will be a multi-lingual project and will feature actors across industries. It has now been confirmed that will also be released in Tamil and it has been titled Mahaveer Karna. Originally planned with Prithviraj, the project was shelved last year after the producer opted out due to exorbitant budget. In a Times of India report, producer Venu was quoted saying: “When Karnan was announced, we planned to make it on a budget of Rs 60 crore. However, when we went forward with the film, I felt it would cost much more and that's the reason I withdrew.” The project has now been taken over by a New York-based company called United Film Kingdom which is ready to spend as much as it takes to get the film made. Vikram is currently shooting for Saamy Square, the sequel to his 2002 blockbuster Saamy. He also has Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram in his kitty. The project will see him play a suave agent who is on the run for revenge. Vikram is also said to have signed a film in Kamal Haasan’s production, to be directed by Rajesh M Selva, which would go on the floors from the second half of the year. While not much is known about the genre of the film, the film will be a remake of a French flick. Akshara Haasan, last seen in Ajith’s Vivegam, has also been signed for this project. The rest of the cast is in the process of being finalized and the process will take a few months. Ghibran, who has worked with Haasan in films such as Vishwaroopam 2 and Uttama Villain, has been brought on board to compose the music. (Content provided by Digital Native)...

Mollywood Rumors about Tovino joining the ‘Lucifer’ star cast began after the star recently posted a picture of himself with Mohanlal.Digital NativeThe shooting of Lucifer is all set to begin in April / May this year and there are enough speculations doing rounds about this project. Expectations are high on it as it will mark the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj. Incidentally, this will be the first time the two actors are associating. Earlier reports suggested that Prithviraj’s brother and actor Indrajith would be playing the main antagonist in this film, and speculations are rife now that Tovino Thomas has been roped for a crucial role as well. However, both these reports are yet to be confirmed by official sources. Rumors about Tovino joining the Lucifer star cast began after the star recently posted a picture of himself with Mohanlal. Sources say that a clear picture of this project would emerge only after Prithviraj is done with his current assignments. While Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas had shared the screen space in Koothara, which was directed by Sreenath Rajendran, he had worked with Prithviraj in three movies Ezra, Seventh Day, and Ennu Ninte Moideen and shares a good rapport. It may be mentioned here that Prithviraj is expecting the release of Ranam, a bilingual directed by Nirmal Sahadev. The film has gone into the post production mode and is expected to release in a couple of weeks. He also has the Anjali Menon directorial, which has not been titled yet. Prithviraj also has Aadujeevitham in his kitty which is in the initial stages of production and would go on to the floors soon. Well, to know more about Lucifer we will have to wait for sometime as the team is currently busy with the pre-production work.

Nagabharana’s Kallarali Hoovagi (for which she won a Kannada State Award). It's been known for a while that she was planning to make her debut as a director in Malayalam with a romantic comedy, and that her male star would be none other than Prithviraj, which has led to much speculation regarding who would star opposite him. Well, speculate no more, because the announcement has been made: none other than Parvathy, who co-starred with Prithviraj in last year's blockbuster film Ennu Ninte Moideen ("Yours Truly, Moideen"), will share the screen as Tara to Prithviraj's Jay, in the film My Story. I've been waiting for the trailer drop for Guppy (the debut film from writer/director JohnPaul George) with some anticipation -- the first look posters (designed by Thought Station, the folks behind so many fabulous Malayalam poster designs, including some of the biggest hits like Bangalore Days, Premam, Iobinte Pusthakam, and Kali) were gorgeous, and the trailer manages to follow them up and build on their creative, fresh vibe with a quirky charm that has almost become the hallmark of the Malayalam New Wave. Tovino Thomas is looking to break out after his Filmfare Award winning supporting performance in last year's Ennu Ninte Moideen, but the actor to really watch for here is Master Chethan, who made such an impact in 5 Sundarikal ("Five Beautiful Women")....
