Exclusive: British-Nigerian filmmaker Joseph Adesunloye to direct The Great Green Wall for Make Productions.
City Of God director Fernando Meirelles will serve as executive producer and creative consultant on a new Un-backed documentary about climate change.
The Great Green Wall will focus on the ongoing Africa-led project to grow an 8,000km wall of trees and plants across the width of Africa.
The film will tell the story of the initiative through the eyes of Malian singer and model Inna Modja who is due to team up with African and international singers and musicians on the film’s score.
The film is due to end in Senegal where featured artists will take part in a concert at the Great Green Wall.
Backed by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, the film will be produced by UK TV outfit Make Productions and be directed by British-Nigerian filmmaker Joseph Adesunloye, who was nominated for the BFI Iwc Schaffhausen Filmmakers...

Dickson Leach’s debut feature The Levelling plays in competition at Lff.
The Levelling director Hope Dickson Leach has received the inaugural Iwc Filmmaker Bursary Award, presented in association with the BFI, which comes with a £50k grant.
The award was presented to Dickson Leach by Cate Blanchett at a dinner held on the eve of the BFI London Film Festival (Oct 5-16).
Ellie Kendrick-starring drama The Levelling plays in competition at the London Film Festival, screening on Friday (Oct 7), following its premiere at Toronto.

A shortlist of four emerging British film-makers has been drawn up for the inaugural $65,000 (£50,000) Iwc Filmmaker Bursary Award, which is presented in association with the BFI.
The award is designed to support a writer/director at the beginning of their career, giving them the financial stability and time to develop future projects.
All four directors have produced their debut feature this year, and each one has been selected to play at this year’s BFI London Film Festival (Lff, Oct 5-16).
