Die Behandlung

I deliberately kept the synopsis short here, because the less you know beforehand, the more exciting and shocking the movie is.

Absolutely thrilling, disturbing, hard, repulsive, moving and resonant. Rarely has a movie caused such trepidation, especially because you know that such incidents are by no means a sick fantasy, but it still went beyond my scope and for me added another level of unimaginability.

The ending left me with a bad taste in my mouth about the inspector's brother. And in my opinion, the ending could have been embellished a little more. But I realize that you have to make compromises for the suspense level of a thriller. After all, it's a challenge to keep up the tension so consistently and to convey all the emotions associated with paedophilia well on film. The actors were all convincing in their roles.

Of course, this macho behavior of always running around alone is sometimes annoying. (We always protest loudly 😫 ) But the suspense, story and emotions outweigh this, so it doesn't carry much weight.

This movie left me with a lump in my throat, not only because of the brother, but also because of the way he was abused, something I couldn't imagine with the best will in the world.
