Exclusive: The Black List and veteran producer Cassian Elwes have named Natalie Baseman as their Cassian Elwes Independent Screenwriting Fellow for 2025.

Elwes selected the up-and-coming screenwriter on the strength of Good Auntie, a dark comedy about a sharp-tongued stand-up comic who does everything she can to get out of fulfilling her dying sister’s last wish. A Nicholl Semifinalist, the project is currently in development with Tanbark Pictures.

Things have taken a hellish turn for the horror-comedy Hysteria!, which has been cancelled at Peacock after just one season, TVLine has confirmed.

The cancellation comes nearly four months after Hysteria!‘s first — and now only — eight-episode season released on Oct. 18, 2024.

Peyton Meyer has joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” in the newly created role of Doug Williams III, the grandson of the late Doug Williams (played by the late Bill Hayes). His first airdate is set for Tuesday, December 3.

Fans first got a glimpse of Meyer earlier this month when he appeared in the “Day of Days” sneak peek highlighting what’s to come on the daytime drama series this season.

In an interview with TV Insider, Meyer describes his character as a “mischievous” young man, similar to how the first Doug Williams was introduced in 1970. “He’s in and out of trouble. When she and Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) popped up at Forrester Creations, it was assumed it was to put in a love interest for Will (Crew Morrow) and to give Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) something to squirm about.

However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Electra will bring an entire storyline with her, including a stalker.

Earlier this week, Electra expressed her unease about being one of the faces of the jewelry line, revealing that she preferred to let Ivy get her exposure and remain in the background.

How To Get Away With Murder...

Like so many other popular shows of the 2010s, American Housewife had a try at the musical format, despite it being far removed from its usual tone. The final episode of the third season, titled A Moms Parade, showed new sides of its cast of characters by having them dance and sing throughout the story. The mini-musical featured performances from Katie, her friends Doris and Angela, as well as Cooper and her kids Oliver, Taylor and Anna-Kat.

Luckily for fans of the show, the episode didnt stray too far away from the general themes of the show. The musical numbers were able to flow easily within the plot. Getting this work is one of the challenges that other shows trying out the musical format have to deal with, but American Housewife pulled it off, while also avoiding one of the worst parts that comes with the musical episode trend.

With more than 29 billion minutes watched and 8.1 million subscribers, the YouTube channel Shiloh & Bros follows actors and influencers Shiloh (Nelson) and her four brothers, Elijah, Micah, Josiah, and Judah, make skits about video games “that are full of humor and heart,” according to its description.

With acting credits including Netflix’s Feel The Beat, Disney’s Tomorrowland, Nickelodeon, and Paramount’s Anchorman 2, siblings Shiloh, Elijah, Micah, Josiah, and Judah paired together to make their own YouTube channel, which has become a favorite among families and younger viewers. The family operation has now become a full media brand and publisher.

Freaky Friday 2 is in talks with its first new star to join Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. Julia Butters is reportedly being approached to appear in the comedy sequel. The 15-year-old butters is best known for her work in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and The Fabelmans.

Freaky Friday 2 is getting close to adding its first new cast member. The movie is the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 Mark Waters comedy Freaky Friday, which was the third adaptation of the 1972 Mary Rodgers novel of the same name about a mother and daughter switching bodies, after the 1976 original starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris and a 1995 TV movie starring Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffmann. The upcoming Freaky Friday 2 is set to feature the return of the stars of Waters version, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Nisha Ganatra taking over as director.

The film will also star Dustin Milligan, Joe Lo Truglio (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Craig Robinson (“The Office”), Katy Mixon (“American Housewife”), Lauren Holly (“Dumb and Dumber”) and Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”).

Picking up where Part One left off, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two opens with Batman, the Batman from Earth Three that is, fighting to prevent The Joker from blowing up the tower that keeps Earth from being destroyed by dark matter. Exclusive: Apple is expanding the ensemble cast of its upcoming series Your Friends and Neighbors with Isabel Gravitt and Donovan Colan.

Details for their characters are being kept under wraps, though Deadline understands they will be playing siblings.

Jon Hamm is set to lead the series, based on an original idea by acclaimed screenwriter, producer and novelist Jonathan Tropper. Your Friends and Neighbors, stars Hamm as ‘Coop,’ a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tony upstate New York suburb in order to keep his family’s lifestyle afloat. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time.

Gravitt and Colan join a cast that also includes Aimee Carrero, Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Lena Hall, Hoon Lee and Mark Tallman.
