There’s a new sensation in Tinseltown and she’s playing a younger version of Cate Blanchett in The Lord of the Rings. Welsh actress Morfydd Clark has been active in the industry since 2014. Trained at the Drama Centre London, she has a theatrical background. In films and TV, she predominantly landed roles in period dramas, horror, and fantasy.

The gritty and edgy thriller Red just picked up two awards at the Unrestricted View Film Festival in London.  The directorial debut of Branko Tomovic (24: Live Another Day, Fury, The Bourne Ultimatum) starring Dervla Kirwan (Ondine, Interlude in Prague) with Francesca Fowler (Doctor Who, Macbeth), is set in the underground world of illegal organ smuggling, the so-called red market.  It tells the story of a damaged and guilt-ridden man who works in this dangerous underground world but is trying to find a way out of it. Tomovic plays the isolated and tormented surgeon with extraordinary emotional depth which makes you emphasise with him, although he is performing these horrible crimes. Morfydd Clark, Ade Edmundson and Charlotte Peters have all joined the biographical drama about Mozart.

Interlude In Prague, which stars Aneurin Barnard as Mozart, has commenced a six-week shoot in the eponymous Czech capital.

Joining a cast that already includes James Purefoy (Solomon Kane) and Samantha Banks (Les Miserables) is Morfydd Clark (Love & Friendship), Ade Edmundson (War & Peace) and Charlotte Peters (Pound Of Flesh).

The story follows Mozart as he composes his operatic masterpiece Don Giovanni. While visiting Prague, the composer becomes embroiled in a turbulent narrative of lust and murder.

John Stephenson (Animal Farm) is directing from a script by debutant Brian Ashby. Huw Penallt Jones is producing for UK-based Productive International alongside Hannah Leader.

London-based Carnaby International are handling worldwide rights and, having introduced the title at Efm, will be commencing sales at Cannes in May.
