Okay, this is not as good as Harry Potter like another review said but it also wasn't total garbage like some others stated. It was like watching a movie based on a teen fantasy/romance novel - reminded me of Mortal Instruments series by Casandra Clare. I thought the actors did a good job and I liked the storyline. There were parts that were a bit odd but I'd watch it again. I would've liked it even more if I was a teen.

If you want something completely different, Harmony is an excellent choice. Sometimes a little confusing but a brilliant concept, beautifully acted and stunning locations. Not a truly memorable movie, but worth a watch. Wonder if they will bring out the rest of the series ??

Colour me intrigued by this movie. I hope there's a sequel. The plot pulled me in and now definitely would like for there to be a sequel. How will harmony bring balance to the world? What will happen next.

Just watched this, my Dad put it on as he saw it on the Sky box which had 4 and a half stars? Lol. I couldn't find it on here at first as in the UK it's known as Otherworld? Saw the average of 5.5 and was like oh no....
Before I started watching, I looked at the film on Wikipedia and got the information about Jessica and her family and was deeply saddened so thought I would give the film a chance out of respect.
I'm glad I gave it a chance, it was quite a decent watch. An interesting look at the power of depression, fear and the opposite - love. The performances are pretty much what you would expect, pretty average, as well as the script. The cinematography was good though, it kept me invested.
I guess if you have nothing else to watch and not afraid to feel a bit shit, throw this on?

All the cast and crews have written the 10 star reviews for this piece of trash. Such a waste of time!

For the record i am neither cast, crew or teenager yet i enjoyed this film, imo def worth watching and it is such a shame that the actress was involved in a car crash in 2017 where her Mother, Father, Sister and driver of the other vehicle all died at the scene and she died after the life support was switched off in January 2018.
Let me just say to all the negative reviews about this film. It wasn't super great but it wasn't a complete stink fest. I've seen a lot worst. I mean I get the negativity to a degree, but let's be honest while we comment, it's watchable...once.

I really liked it, and I'm not a teenager, I've seen thousands of movie, am a member of Mensa, and have nothing to do with the movie industry whatsoever.
I've seen actually bad movies, and this one is not that. The acting was excellent, very believable, the filming was of satisfactory quality.
So yeah, I liked the movie a lot, maybe because I could relate to the main characters: like them, I've felt different most my life, I've felt extremely deep love, and kindness.
I usually dislike action movies, and the fact that I liked this film probably means that it's not an action movie as you would imagine it.
Maybe the people who didn't like it were expecting more action, or more "funny" lines (you know, the usual stuff you find in Marvel movies, with a supposed-to-be-funny line every 10 seconds)...
If you like stories, and excellently displayed feeling and transcending oneself, give it a shot.

I'm surprised at some of the negative feedback on here.
I liked it. Great acting by all. It felt like a small part or beginning to a larger story that may never be heard. RIP Jessica Falkholt- what a waste of a really promising actress who died after this film. I would have liked to see her staying in the next part to this saga.

Anyone who can't see this as a gem of a movie is as deep as a formulaic Action Flick. It is so sad that the lead actress died before the movie's theatrical release as I could truly see this as a series.
It's layered, intriguing and interesting. You do NOT need to be an "Empath" any more than you need to be a vampire or wizard for Twilight or Hogwarts. Just enjoy a suspenseful and non-Rom Com film, very well made for such a low budget flick.

How and why are some people are rating this more than a four? Seriously, they clearly haven't watched this! It's utter nonsense. Rather spend your time taking a little nap.

This movie is not excellent by any means, but it's also not garbage. It's a little slow and confusing at times, then does whatever teen girls would want it to do I guess, at least nobody sparkles!!
There are bogus reviews sure, no matter, they offset the haters.
Seems this was to be 1 of 5 for this series, but I wonder what they will do now? No matter, I'm sorry Jessica Falkholt had her life taken from her.

Amazon has yet again changed the title of a movie, from "Harmony" to "Absolution". I don't really know why they find it necessary to change movie titles (it makes it far more difficult to find them on IMDB to check for family ratings).
This is a well-done film with good acting, but is yet another film that is open-ended and evidently created as a pilot film for a hoped-for television series. The ending comes without resolution, leaving the viewer disappointed with the overall story.
The plot is interesting but not fleshed out. The acting is quite good and the characters well-created (if somewhat cliche) If it had a stronger and tighter ending it would have been fine. But it was made five years ago with nothing since, and since it didn't resolve the story itself, it leaves the viewer hanging in a state of disappointment with the unfulfilling plot drop.

I had to sign in just to do this. It is badly scripted, very difficult to wrap your head around. It has a lot of plot holes and they'd expect you to fill it up in your mind because the movie claims to be a 'mysterious' one.
As others have said, the high reviews are probably friends of the cast/production crew or whatever. Don't waste your precious time or data. Pls skip.

It wasn't amazing, I found myself confused. However, I couldn't stop watching and I really want to know more. This could become the start of a really good fantasy franchise. I hope the bad reviews don't squash the chance of this happening.

I watched this after I had found out the lead actress had passed away at an early age in a car crash and wanted to see more of her performances and to be fair this is quite an interesting little movie that beats most of the big high budget ones out at the moment!
Interesting idea and well acted, might even leave a tear in your eye although they did cop out with the usual American happy ending its got quite a lot of atmosphere and original style!

Terrible acting. High score rating is obviously from friends of the cast and crew. Absolute rubbish try another career honestly because this isn't for you.
Awful from start to finish, when you cringe at the first frame you know you are in for a long awful movie. In summary, avoid watching this at all costs

This movie isnt going to win any awards, but it is wirth the watch. In a world filled with fear and pain like today, this film spreads a little hope and love. Maybe not the best acting or special effects, not flashy or showy like some recent blockbusters, but an emotional masterpiece. A wonderful story that will touch your heart if you let it.

It's a decent movie with great acting and it seemed very well set up for sequels. It is made even more profound knowing what has happened to the main actress in real life, and terribly tragic. Not to mention a scene in the movie almost eerily foreshadowing what happens to her. I'm glad I watched the movie before discovering she had passed away along with her family. It has made me appreciate the talent she had and wish she could still be in this world to bless everyone with it. May she rest in peace with her family.

Even in love, there's fear.
You can't have one
without the other.
Do you know that feeling when you drove with your bike somewhere, look surprised at a road map and realize you don't have any idea where you were? Or that time when you were looking at the blackboard in disbelief, while the professor wrote down a mathematical theorem? I also had that surprised, open-mouthed, slightly panicking look when watching "Harmony". This Australian film (with Australian actors who did their best to hide that well-known accent) is now really the vaguest of all the films I've seen so far. Somewhere deep inside there might be something original in it. But it really didn't seem to want to rise to the surface.
After an hour I still didn't understand what was going on with Harmony (Jessica Falkholt). And her relationship with Mason (Jerome Meyer) and Jimmy (Eamon Farren) remained a complete mystery to me. The denouement was again kind of obvious. And of course, you get once more such a typical ending that affords room for several follow-up films. Apparently, that's been the idea all along. They were planning to create a 5-part saga of which this film "Harmony" is the first chapter. Unfortunately, the lead actress Jessica Falkholt died in a car accident before the movie premiered. And preparing follow-up stories without this character may be problematic. Or they are devoting the following four sequels to the other 4 newborns, each of whom has their own specific, special power.
Perhaps that was the most positive thing about the entire film. The gift of Harmony to remove negative feelings and fears from random people sounds rather intriguing. A not so pleasant experience for Harmony. The inherited burden causes both psychological and physical pain. The only way for Harmony to free herself from this burden is to take a shower after which these negative feelings run away like black ink.
How come she's blessed with this power? Does it have to do with the death of her mother during birth? And what is her motive for wandering through dark streets at night and saving hopelessly lost souls? Who's the woman who takes care of neglected animals? How does she know that Harmony should use her gift on as many people in need as possible? And does she know the others who also have a certain power? It's all a bit too vague. I suppose when the sequels are made, it will all become a bit clearer.
Film technically, the film looks flawless. The gray and dark images fit wonderfully with Harmony's character. Her appearance, a goth-like young girl in black, also reinforces this depressing feeling. Jimmy, the rebellious punk who treats others like dirt, is also such a dark figure. Why he shows an interest in Harmony and at the same time radiates a kind of hate is again vague. Mason, on the other hand, is a real "jump for joy" guy. His colorful outfit and innocent, naive and weird behavior ensure the bright, happy moments. Also here it isn't clear why Harmony continues to function flawlessly in his presence. Is Mason an insensitive and numb person? Does he go through life without fear or negative feelings? Does he have a mental disorder that makes him appear eccentric? Well, again I haven't the faintest idea.
Perhaps a few missing puzzle pieces are necessary to understand this idiosyncratic film a bit better. As you've read, everything remains fairly vague and incomprehensible. All in all, despite all its vagueness, this film isn't that bad. The acting is of an acceptable level and the way in which everything was portrayed also has its charms. The film also fits the image of our current society perfectly. A society where fear plays a major role nowadays. And I'm sure that many teenage girls will be enthusiast about the romantic part of the film. On a narrative level, I thought it was inadequate. Too many question marks and blanks. In short, the story itself wasn't in harmony with the rest.
