Exclusive: Two-time International Emmy-nominated executive producer Marie Leguizamo is expanding her relationship with Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, signing an overall development deal with the studio. Under the pact, Leguizamo, who will work out of the company’s Los Angeles offices, will jointly develop and produce unscripted content with Endemol Shine Boomdog. She is also working with Endemol Shine North America’s English-language team on a variety of potential series, as well.
Leguizamo has produced such Spanish-language hit series as La Voz Kids for Telemundo, Pequeños Gigantes USA for Univision and Endemol Shine Boomdog’s upcoming second season of Last One Laughing – Mexico for Amazon Prime.

“La Reina del Sur” actress Kate Del Castillo and her Cholawood Productions team have signed an overall deal with Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, the studio said Wednesday.
Under the pact, the Mexican actress and producer will both produce and star in projects jointly developed between Endemol Shine Boomdog and Cholawood.
Del Castillo runs Cholawood with her partners, veteran Latin entertainment industry executive Carmen Cervantes and Daytime Emmy Award-winning journalist Jessica Maldonado. Their banner will now be based out of Endemol Shine’s Los Angeles offices.

Endemol Shine Boomdog, the Mexico City-based division of Endemol Shine North America, has signed a development pact with actress Kate del Castillo and her fledgling Cholawood Productions company.
Founded by Del Castillo and her partners, entertainment industry exec Carmen Cervantes and journalist Jessica Maldonado, Cholawood will be based out of Endemol Shine’s Los Angeles headquarters.

NBCUniversal’s “Judge Jerry” has set its production team and reached 90% clearance across the U.S. for its fall launch. The court show hosted by longtime talk show host Jerry Springer will be exec produced by Kerry Shannon, previously a producer on “Jerry Springer Show.” Leah Ponce and Joe Scott, alums of “Judge Judy” and other court shows, are on board as co-exec producers. “The combination of Jerry’s proven experience in broadcast television and his legal mind will make ‘Judge Jerry’ like no other courtroom show on TV,” Shannon said. Mexican actress Cristina Rodlo is set as a series regular in Season 2 of AMC’s anthology series The Terror.
Season 2 is co-created by Alexander Woo (True Blood) and Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island) with Woo, who is currently under an overall deal at AMC Studios, set as showrunner. The next iteration will be set during World War II and center on an uncanny specter that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific. The 10-episode Season 2 is expected to air on AMC in 2019.

Mexico City-based Endemol Shine Boomdog has tapped veteran TV exec/showrunner Jose Lascurain for the position of production VP (unscripted) in its continued bid to ramp up production for the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican markets.
Twice nominated for an International Emmy, Lascurain most recently served as senior executive producer of current programming and specials at Univision Communications.
Lascurain also previously held production roles at Televisa, Blindspot Pictures, El Mall, Mediamates and Endemol Mexico. Aside from holding a Bs degree in Communications from the University of Valley of Mexico, he is a certified coach for the Road Runners Club of America.

The U.K. production “Man in an Orange Shirt” won the International Emmy Award for best movie/miniseries at the 46th annual ceremony in New York. The top drama series award went to Spain’s “Money Heist.”
“Heist” was produced by Vancouver Media and Atresmedia Televisión. “Man in an Orange Shirt,” produced by the U.K.’s Kudos banner, starred Vanessa Redgrave and revolved around two gay love stories, one set in the present day, the other in the 1940s. The two-hour production aired on the BBC and PBS.
