- Shanghai in the 1930s, Man is an up-and-coming actress in the glamorous entertainment industry. Poon, a seasoned actress is worried about her popularity and sees Man as her rival. Koo, a fresh graduate in film studies, continues to pursue his dream as a film maker, despite the disapproval from his father who is a highly regarded warlord in the city.. Koo has written a screenplay for his new romantic horror film starring Man with location set at Palace Cinema, which is rumored a haunted place. With much dissuasion from the crew members, Koo insists invariably to start the shoot at the cinema. In the course of filming, it follows with relentless paranormal incidents on the set: a dark apparition whizzes past Poon; Koo is hit by a falling light box (was it a light-box?); leading actor and the film investor die suspiciously. Afterwards, Koo is also captured by a mysterious man. Koo's father has already rumbled Man's conspiracy and on the day of premiere of the film, he leads his army to Palace Cinema to save Koo.
