The game has a large focus on the 'Harlem Hellfighters,' an African-American battalion known for their bravery and resilience in battle. They were given the name 'Hellfighters' by the Germans for their impressive reputation, having never lost a man to capture, surrendered a trench or given away any territory. A Hellfighter soldier is featured on the main poster and is also available as a statue as part of the collectors edition of the game
Apparently this was a game DICE wanted to make for the better part of five years, but were unable to due to their contract with EA. Allegedly, in order to make this game, DICE had to develop Battlefield Hardline and Star Wars Battlefront first, before doing this game.
Clyde Blackburn, the protagonist of Friends in High Places, is undoubtedly related to Henry Blackburn, the protagonist of Battlefield 3.
It is set in World War One.
