When it comes to difficulty, Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t pull any punches. The game isn’t unfair, and if you’re smart (or lucky), you can demolish most enemies before they ever know you’re there. But eventually, a goblin is going to stick you in the back with a dagger, or maybe an owlbear gets a lucky hit in and claws your face off. Either way, you will need healing, and unlike Final Fantasy, yelling “Curaga!” won’t cut it.
Here are some of the most notable ways to keep your heroes alive in and out of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s punishing combat sequences.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Heal During Combat
While in the middle of a brawl, your healing options are somewhat limited. Your most reliable choices are healing spells, skills, and items.
Spells and skills are fairly self-explanatory. Just make sure you have the required spell slot,...

Two time Grammy-nominated band Code Orange announce today their new album The Above, releasing September 29th via Blue Grape Music!
The first album since their critically acclaimed 2020 Underneath, is self-produced by Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose with engineering by Steve Albini.
Accompanying the album announcement, the single and music video for the track “Take Shape” which features guest vocals from Billy Corgan is a throwback to when music videos were at peak importance, combining nostalgia with a modern twist, notes the release.
Inspired by an era where film was at its peak quality, but beginning to give way to the digital era “Take Shape” picks up where “Grooming My Replacement” left off. The protagonist, played by Morgan, escapes his captives, arriving in a technicolor, ‘Truman Show’-esque stage play of reality. Incredible cinematography brings the video through a number of sets and stages arriving at a ‘Vanilla Sky’-inspired roof scene.

It's been five years since a "Cloverfield" movie has graced our screens, but that appears to be changing now that a relic of the past from when the franchise first launched has resurfaced. As fans of the J.J. Abrams-produced monster movie franchise are no doubt well aware, secrecy and viral marketing have been a gimmick big part of the franchise since the very beginning. Now, a bit of viral marketing tied to the original 2008 blockbuster that started it all has us thinking that a sequel is imminent.

HBO’s latest hit series The Last of Us now officially has a soundtrack for its first season, a massive, 66-song compilation of all the music scoring the post-apocalyptic tale. Check it out below.
After working on the original The Last of Us video game, composer Gustavo Santaolalla returns for the HBO series, joined by fellow artist David Fleming. In an upcoming interview with Consequence, Santaolalla describes his approach to the soundtrack, saying, “The process of adapting, it was more in a way like craftwork than actually a new creation, because the themes were there, those things are there, like the characters, it wasn’t about creating a new job, it wasn’t about finding what is interesting. For example, in seeing how Pascal and Bella, they’re different than the actors that played the voices, but at the same time, they keep the soul of the characters intact.”

Another Cloverfield Movie Is In The Works At Paramount With Wounds Director Babak Anvari At The Helm
Like just about everything else related to Warner Bros. Discovery, Bad Robot's partnership with HBO Max and DC is very much on the fritz right now. Luckily, the company still has plenty of irons in other fires to fall back on elsewhere. With the future of the slow-moving "Star Trek 4" once again up in the air following Matt Shakman's recent exit as director, it seems a different Bad Robot sci-fi project is roaring back to life over at Paramount Pictures.
According to Deadline, Paramount has a new "Cloverfield" movie in the works, with J.J. Abrams (as always) producing for Bad Robot. The film is being written by Joe Barton, who also penned 2017's "The Ritual" and recently created the sci-fi series "The Lazarus Project" for Sky Max. Babak Anvari is attached to direct, with original "Cloverfield" writer-director duo Drew Goddard and Matt Reeves also onboard as executive producers.

The apocalyptic world of “Cloverfield” is expanding.
A yet-untitled sequel was announced by Paramount Pictures, as first reported by Deadline, with BAFTA winner Babak Anvari (“Under the Shadow”) set to direct. Screenwriter Joe Barton (“The Lazarus Project”) is penning the script.
Original “Cloverfield” director Matt Reeves, who went on to helm “The Batman,” is serving as an executive producer, with J.J. Abrams producing from Bad Robot, along with Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen. Bryan Burk and “Cloverfield” screenwriter Drew Goddard will also executive produce.
The “Cloverfield” universe first started with Reeves’ 2008 fictional found-footage film about a monster attack in New York City. Mike Vogel, Lizzy Caplan, T.J. Miller, and Theo Rossi starred.
Eight years later, the 2016 film “10 Cloverfield Lane” marked Dan Trachtenberg’s feature directorial debut and starred Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a woman held captive by a conspiracy theorist, played by John Goodman. The film’s twist ending...

Another chapter in the “Cloverfield” universe is coming.
“Wounds” director Babak Anvari has been tapped to helm the newest installment of the hit horror series. J.J. Abrams is producing from Bad Robot, along with Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen. Bryan Burk, Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard will executive produce. Joe Barton, who penned the 2017 cult horror hit “The Ritual,” is set to write the script.
This next installment is currently in development at Paramount Pictures and will be the fourth chapter in the experimental sci-fi series. The first film, 2008’s “Cloverfield,” was a found footage alien invasion movie that became a sleeper hit. The second chapter, 2016’s “10 Cloverfield Lane,” modified an existing script to fit within the “Cloverfield” universe and became a commercial and critical hit, anchored by strong performances from Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman. The third installment, 2018’s space thriller “The Cloverfield Paradox,” was widely panned...

Netflix may be undervaluing their latest original thriller from Babak Anvari by unceremoniously dropping it on the streaming platform today, but we at /Film know a solid thriller when we see it and will happily pick up the mantle to sing its praises. Directed by Anvari from a script he co-wrote with Namsi Khan, "I Came By" is a twisty thriller about a young graffiti artist named Toby Nealey (George MacKay) who intentionally tags the homes of the elite, but gets more than he bargained for after breaking into the home of a high-profile judge Hector Blake (Hugh Bonneville) and discovering the truth of his hidden basement.
Now, Tobey has put himself and his loved ones in harm's way, as Blake will do anything to keep his secret under wraps. Netflix describes the film with the tagline "Privilege hides the darkest secrets," which sounds like a no-brainer hit for the streaming juggernaut.

“Nope.” That’s the maddening morsel of a clue writer-director Jordan Peele gave audiences before unleashing his third horror flick into theaters on July 22: “Nope.”
Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Brandon Perea, and Michael Wincott star in this science fiction horror outing set against the legacies of horse ranchers in Hollywood (we think). Although Peele’s latest project has been somewhat vague in its rollout, he’s not the first horror auteur to make their monosyllabic mark with a title that’s doggedly vexing and slyly sinister. Dating back to the earliest days of the movies, films such as “Noseferatu,” “Dracula,” “Freaks,” “Maniac,” “Bedlam,” “Godzilla,” “Rodan,” and more have kept things scary and succinct with titles that practically demand audiences venture into theaters to uncover the terrors behind these single word hints.

As other European TV giants such as the Rtl Group, Spain’s Atresmedia, owner of the Ott service Atresplayer Premium, is finding the sweet spot between auteur and broad audience shows.
Launched two years ago, Atresplayer Premium boasts fast growth in terms of subscriptions – reaching 400,000 users in Spain alone – and content production volume, readying some 20 new TV projects for this year.
Promoting original voices, the platform is winning international visibility. Iconic original series “Veneno,” created by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, “Los Javis,” successfully launched on HBO Max in the U.S. and Latin America, with a strong impact on the international media, which contributed to strengthening the Atresplayer brand.
Now, “Cardo,” from creators and writers Claudia Costafreda and Ana Rujas, executive produced by Los Javis after becoming one of the hottest indie series of last year for TV critics and audiences, is close to an important international distribution deal.

Spanish media giant Atresmedia is joining forces with Portocabo, the production outfit behind Movistar Plus hit series “Hierro,” for a remake of Showtime drama “Your Honor,” starring Bryan Cranston.
The Spanish redo is currently at the script stage and initiating casting.
With an undisclosed number of episodes, the project production is scheduled to kick off this year.
The TV series release date is still unknown. But it would be logical for it to launch on platform Atresplayer Premium before airing on Atresmedia’s free-to-air channel Antena 3 primetime, a windowing strategy usually followed by the group with its new fiction releases since Atresplayer Premium bowed in 2019.
“Your Honor” is based on the Israeli TV drama “Kvodo,” created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach, and aired first on Israel’s paybox Yes TV.

Firstly, it seems like something of a miracle that any film will be premiering at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Like, in-person, in theaters, in Park City. After launching an ambitious — and quite popular — hybrid festival for its 2021 edition, the annual event is preparing for a slightly more traditional event in 2022. As announced earlier this year, online screenings will still take place in 2022, but Park City is readying to mount a larger in-person event as well.
And while we can’t wait for that, there’s a whole pack of other eager would-be Sundance attendees feeling a very different kind of anticipation these days: the filmmakers. While the end of November spells the start of holiday time for most, it also comes with a particular anxiety for those who have submitted their film to the fest. As we approach the inevitable lineup announcements, we’ve done our usual scouting around to...

Horror movies have been around almost as long as filmmaking itself, and while the genre has always been cyclical in nature –dipping, sometimes drastically, in both quality and quantity from time to time — all it usually takes is a well-timed box office hit, a fresh new angle or a hot young filmmaker to reanimate it again.
The 21st century has been, overall, an extremely healthy one for horror. There’s been the usual amount of dross, of course, but the genre has branched out in a number of interesting new directions as well. We had absolutely no problem tallying the initial batch of movies for this article, and have just continued to update it ever since, starting with the newest and going back in time from there.

Terror Films have announced they will premiere Jim Klock’s faith-based horror film, Red Letters, exclusively on Kings of Horror.
In the story, a Deputy vanishes without a trace while responding to a burglary call. Private Investigator Jim Knowles is a retired Homicide Detective and Mike Gaston is a retired Theology Professor, who specialize in cases that deal with the dark side of evil. Both men are requested to lend their assistance to this small-town police force in rural New Jersey. Knowles, a non-believer in both God and Satan, is convinced that people who commit a crime and use the Devil as an excuse are merely using an insanity defence. Gaston, his partner however, is a man of deep faith and conviction. Gaston believes that the Devil is real and is constantly on the prowl for people’s souls. In a fight between good and evil, both men will embark...

“Transgression” tells the tale of two young Buddhist monks struggling to fit in, due to their care-free and mischievous nature. Further complicating their quest for enlightenment, each face their own struggles in overcoming materialism as well as sexual desire. When the head of the monastery becomes ill, it is up to the two to decide their own fate and the extent of their commitment to Buddha.
“Transgression” is part of the Korean Film Nights event “Trapped! The Cinema of Confinement“
Taking an introspective look at the life of young monks, the production is able to bring some levity and drama into a film whose purpose largely rests in religious belief. Undoubtedly, the film’s ability to interject light hearted humor that stands the test of time helps bring some needed levity. Additionally, aspects of melodrama generated from the introduction of the female sect of monks offers an engaging perspective on the struggle with desire.

We are under lockdown, shielding at home, with restricted access to the public space. We have become, in one way or another, trapped. Trapped! The Cinema of Confinement is a meditation on the themes of isolation, restriction and incarceration, both physical and psychological.
