“Mojo,” a rom-com film whose cast of oddball characters includes a cow who has gone viral, has been set as the first feature to emerge from Sympatico, a U.K.-Malaysia coproduction venture that launched last year.

The film is to be directed by Min Lim, who also heads operations at Sympatico. She already has significant writing, directing and live venue producing experience, with credits that include executive producing the multi-season Asian adaptation of “The Bridge,” showrunner and director on the multi-award-winning Malaysian adaptation of the ITV/Sundance drama “Liar,” and as co-director of the reboot of the popular Malaysian sitcom “Kopitiam.”

Organized by the European Broadcasting Union (Ebu), the Eurovision Song Contest is the most famous, extravagant music competition in existence with various European countries competing to be crowned the year’s winner and host the next year’s competition.

Before the grand final, however, two semi-finals take place. The top 10 in each semi-final then go through to the final, where they are joined by the host country (the winner of the previous year) and the Big Five — who all qualify automatically. Then, each country performs and vies for votes.

After the performances, every member of the Ebu dials in and dishes out 1-8, 10, and 12 points to their favorite songs – with the points decided via a combination of public votes and jury decisions in each country. Whichever country amasses the most points wins.

The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, is almost upon us with 37 countries hoping to claim bragging rights at this year’s grand final on May 11. This is the 68th edition of the international competition. Previously, 27 countries have emerged as victors at least once with Ireland and last year’s winners Sweden coming out on tops with a joint record of seven victories. France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the UK, which hosted last year after the 2022 winner, Ukraine, couldn’t host due to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war, have five wins each.

Israel have won four times while Denmark, Italy, Norway, and Ukraine have won three times each. Austria, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland have won twice. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Monaco, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Yugoslavia have all won once.

After teasing a possible collaboration on TikTok last week, Justin Timberlake has confirmed that he has linked up with his former bandmates on a new track for his upcoming album Everything I Thought It Was. The new track is called “Paradise” and is the second to last song on the album.

In the cheeky TikTok video, a fan asked him to blink twice to confirm if ‘NSync is on a song called “Paradise,” and Timberlake pulled his sunglasses down to oblige.

The ongoing Motörhead live recording series, The Löst Tapes, is being collected on a new eight-disc CD box set arriving February 23rd. In addition, a fifth volume in the series, Live at Donington Download Fest ’08, has been announced as part the box set and as a standalone vinyl release.

The trio – Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro – dropped their new album earlier this year, and now, have brought in other artists to re-work the songs off of the album.

“We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence,” they shared on Instagram. “Re: This Is Why is almost a remix album.
