- TriviaThe Tele 5 anchors are played by Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten, the hosts of the German show The Worst Movies of All Time (2013) (The Worst Movies of all Time), in which they show and comment on bad movies (they have presented every Sharknado movie and are one of of the reasons for the success of the films in Germany). Both previously had a cameo in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (2015) as rollercoaster riders. Additionally, Oliver Kalkofe's colleagues Dietmar Wischmeyer (cabaret artist) and Oliver Welke (host of heute-show (2009), writer on Kalkofe's Wixxer movies) also have a cameo.
- Goofs(at around 15 mins) One of the characters states "London Bridge is falling down", however, the bridge that was falling down was in fact Tower Bridge, which is often mistaken for London Bridge.
- Quotes
Fin Shepard: Sharks. Why does it always gotta be sharks?
- Crazy creditsA couple of the opening credits (including the title) are shown with the same font as the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) credits. The rest of the credits don't appear until the 21-minute mark, through the franchise's regular title sequence.

Featured review
"Sharknado 5" continues in the direction of its predecessors, but this time they failed. Previous films have been based on unrealistic, but established quasi-scientific premises, and they stuck to them so that all the time you can be clear about what, how and why. This time, through most of the film I had no idea what was going on. Confusing, illogical and full of holes and with no quasi-scientific explanation that would give some sort of credibility to the story. Bunch of events that do not hold your attention, unconvincing story, poor CGI and unforgivably bad acting of several actors. Too stupid for a serious movie, and not nearly enough over-the-top to be a hilarious ride, like those brought to us by its prequels. But I can not completely bury it, because it does have some bright moments. The film is full of references, both verbal and visual, to pop culture and some cult films, and several times I sincerely laughed.
