Brilliant Quiz Show With Unique Format
Love the format of this show. No matter how clever a contestant they're always potentially one fiendish question away from being eliminated. Rick Edwards does a great job of balancing questions with humour. Plenty of potential twists and a decent guaranteed cash prize every show unlike Pointless where the prize is dependent on how previous contestants have performed. The group who were on the week 6-10 August were particularly entertaining. Gutted when Reg didn't make the grid area. The idea of players being on all week means you can root for players and get to know them a little as the days go on. Great show - long may it reign!

questions
Great show, brilliantly hosted by Rick, cant understand people who say he is wooden! If anybody is wooden, its armstrong and osman on pointless, their efforts at jokes or humour are pathetic, rick, by contrast, has a very dry wit and handles lots of contestants very well. Also they all have a genuine chance of winning £10,000 each day, but in pointless the prize money is pitiful, you would need at least 10 shows to get a chance at 10,000. One thing i would like to know, how does Rick know all the answers without referring to any notes or tablets? He must either remember them or have them fed through an earpiece. Anyone know the answer to that?

Absolutely LOVE it!
First off, I truly adore trivia games! I like them to move at a consistent pace, and I like a variety of trivia. I love a variety of levels within a game. This totally ticks all of the boxes! I love to not only guess the right answer but to also guess the impossible answer. I just watched two shows for the first time today, and I had no knowledge of it before (I'm American). I like the host , who seems very natural and comfortable in his roll, and I like the way they have a panel of contestants in the beginning and then go through the process of elimination. Would highly recommend this for any trivia buff!

Impossible
Not a bad format from the BBC to fill their gameshow quota.
Rick Edwards is as wooden a host as you could ever find though.

Dire
As a Pointless fan I can't believe the BBC is airing this dull drivel in the 5:15 slot. Poor format, dreary host. Should be called "Unwatchable".

Nowhere near good enough for the 5:15 slot
The show is slow and uninteresting, viewers feel no need to engage with the questions, the host is bland and uncharismatic, and the music is unthematic, annoying, all over the place and frankly terrible.
Now that it's clear that pointless on they out, I really hope this isn't the show the beeb decide to replace it with. 5:15 should be reserved for only the best gameshows, like The Weakest Link, or Pointless in its early years.
Frankly, getting any enjoyment from this show is impossible

What is this?
Turned on to watch the brilliant Pointless & some irritating, bog standard rubbish came on. Totally lacking in all areas. Won't be back until Pointless returns or something equally fun and interesting which requires some real knowledge.
Where's the tie?
I love the show and think Rick is a great host. Admire his taste in fashion not many hosts wear a suit and tie and he always looks so smart but oh dear he's left his tie off in the new series, what a shame reduced to a Ben Shepherd look alike!! It won't stop me watching the show which has got to be one of the best on television.

Poor
Pity the poor producers of this show, lumbered with expectation after the genius concept of Pointless, they've scored an inevitable miss here. The presenter has zero charisma, which suffers further by being spread so thinly over so very many contestants. But the real problem is the game format. The basic law of quiz shows is that there are right answers and wrong answers, bringing in 'possible' and 'impossible' ones makes for a very woolly, unrewarding game, that doesn't reinvent the word like 'pointless' did. It just kind of sounds dumb.

Impossible... just perfectly sums up this heavily flawed and tedious format in a nutshell
I just finished watching the celebrity version of this load of drivel (because I just couldn't really care less to make myself suffer through the regular series) and, as you can probably tell by the way I'm starting this review, as much as I was willing to try and give this piece of dull twaddle a chance, I just couldn't ever get into it not just because the BBC had to basically set someone as above average at best (in terms of talent) as Rick Edwards up into their version of Ben Shephard but also mainly because they overcomplicated this format to such an insanely ridiculous extent that it just becomes almost unwatchable.
In conclusion, Impossible honestly could not have been a more apt descriptor of how heavily flawed, uninspired, incredibly frustrating to watch and ultimately boring this format truly is and it actually makes you question why the BBC allowed it to go on for 4 series, what gave them the idea to commission it in the first place and whether or not they've just given up in terms of creative, original and inspired gameshow ideas.
My overall rating for Impossible: 1/10.
