Omega mission- is a joint CIA-JSOC unit of hunter/killer teams who seek out and eliminate high value targets (HVT); it is essentially a combo of the best intelligence and military operatives. Omega units use CIA operatives to locate targets and teams composed of Delta Force, DEVGRU and 75th Ranger Regiment operatives to eliminate them. Omega units were first used in Central and South America in the 1980's to locate and eliminate the leaders of drug cartels and Soviet allied dictatorships, they have also been heavily used in the war on terror to take out HVT's in Al-Qaida and the Taliban. Omega missions are total black ops and off the books, any operatives captured will be disavowed by the United States as rouge agents; they are also highly classified and never discussed, only a very small select few Omega operations are known to the public. The most famous Omega mission is the one that located and killed Osama Bin Laden, that operation was comprised of units from the CIA's Special Activities Division, the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and the Navy's SEAL Team Six (DEVGRU).
