Louis C.K. starts this standup special with abortion and we're off. He tackles Caitlyn Jenner, Magic Mike, and sucking dicks with his irreverent takes. Anybody who loves his left turns would find this fun. The formula is familiar to any of his fans. It shouldn't be too shocking although Jenner may not appreciate his take. I've heard worst. He's not really hitting too hard. This is definitely his style even if his knife isn't super sharp. It's good fun for his fans.
As an aside, I like its up-to-date quality without being date specific. I made comments about the last Dave Chappelle Netflix specials that some of it felt dated. This special has none of those problems.

What is incredible about his kind of comedy is the fact that only a true open mind could achieve such a specific point of view. And to make a critical view of the world funny is a job apart, because not everyone is ready to face matters that goes deeper than surface. Even more in America. But he's still improving and that's clearly because he continue to keep his eyes open and he keep challenging himself. The way he approaches being a father and a citizen make him an true artist, in the way that we know he will always do something unique, even when he repeats format. Each special is different in various levels, but with that funny look that only Loiue can give us, because he does art with the person he is, which is rare in a world that the artistic figure kills the human being.

He is such an amazing thinker of contemporary and common things. I recommend all the people to see the show Louise CK 2017 on netflix, he really is as funny and smart as George Carlin and Bill Hicks... and more. I really really enjoy each time I watch his special.

Louis C.K is a respected, well-known comedian and because of that when you see on Netflix his new show, you expect to have a good laugh.
but how good is the show when you check the time to see how many minutes left?
Louis C.K loving his pessimistic, brutally honest sense on the outlook of life ..felt tiring, with long pauses between jokes just to repeat the last phrase again and then after maybe twenty seconds to impersonate that scene. There were a few good jokes and hearing Louis's opinion on simple events was entertaining as you love comedians for. But, to not spoil, the last 20 minutes were sad and "sucked out" of a finger in desperation to make it into appropriate time for a comedy show.
Six rating because Louis deserves after good shows to have a bad one off. maybe..or maybe not
Perhaps it is the last show of his. Who knows?

in order to make your wasted money worth a little bit, you reluctantly joined other brain-dead audience to laugh whatever that guy on the stage said, even from the very beginning when he stepped out onto the stage, nothing whatsoever was the least funny, you got to laugh to get some of your pennies back. A full house of fools laughing clueless to every word this unfunny guy churned out of his mouth. The audiences' phony and pretentious laughter simply made me sick and disgust. These people were so stupid like nuts, kept laughing at not-funny-all, contrite so-called Lewis CK formatted and stereotyped crap. This time, even this self-promoted comedian was the least funny guy on the planet, but the most disgusting party were the ridiculous audiences. When we find somebody clueless laughing at something or some words not funny at all, we usually consider him or her a crazy moron. What amazed me most is that all of the laughing audiences that night were morons. Those who sat there among the morons never even laughed at all were the sane few. Only those who never laughed that night were the people really true to themselves, others were simply pathetic morons.

I am so glad I decided to form my own opinion and to disregard all the reviews here. Louis C.K's 2017 is a lough out loud experience just like Chewed Up or Live at the Beacon Theater were. During the last 15 minutes, the smile just wouldn't leave my face and I also struggled to suppress it for another 15 minutes afterwards.
The jokes just worked for me, I simply cannot believe people would hate this, but as any other art form, it's a matter of taste. People are different. Opinions are different. Some are better, others are worse. So PLEASE find out in which category you land on your own and don't miss out on great experiences like this one.

It's difficult to emulate the amount of mindful observation, courage and care, multiplied exponentially through the power of humor. Praised is Louis CK in 2017, 18 and 19 for delivering so much to the world. We look forward to following Louis on his next Netflix show on 2020.

Louis CK has always been pretty much a hit or miss for me. I never really found all his stuff to be funny, but some of it was. Just like his show, some of the episodes were good, some weren't.
This show, routine, special, whatever you want to call it, was just awful though. I mean even in the middle of it he stops for twenty seconds just running the clock out and that wasn't the first time he took the long, long pauses. He even looked like he was tired, struggling and not really into it. The material was lame except for maybe one joke. His dog routine was not funny. The one about his daughter was not funny and the one about Magic Mike was just painful.
Anyway, I'm not saying don't watch it. I'm a firm believer that everyone should make up their own minds and what may be trash for me is maybe treasure for you. All I'm saying is don't go in expecting a lot. I don't care who you are, there are universal measures of good and bad, and this is just not good.

This is one of those starts-with-an-earthquake and works-to-a-climax kind of shows. Louis CK is simply relentless here. He just doesn;t let up, moving from one subject to another with easy panche. When I wasn't laughing, I was sitting there with my eyes wide and mouth open, shellshocked at the things Louis was saying, and doing (yes, there's more than talk here). Louis has always done great gay jokes well, but here he's completely over the top and really really good. And there's stuff on abortion, old people and other delicate subjects that he takes a sledghammer to. I'm so glad Netflix is expanding its Louis collection because he really is unique.
very natural and very talented at switching between jokes...dramatically funny in a dramatic world...he's able to make jokes and shows the audiences how stupid we act and how stupid some of the things are done in this world.his content is just right out of life. It's brilliant because it is not boring you.He makes listeners recognise what's going on in themselves.Awesome stories!

I'm a big fan of louis c.k. and i see that this show didn't pleased much people. As a big louis fan i'm saying that: for sure this is not one of his best show, as a matter of fact i think it's the worst tied with the last one before this. But that's to me only means that his other shows are a 10 out of 10 while this is just good. To me this show was like a 7.5 but i have to choose between 7 and 8 so i've go with an 8. Still good, still laughed, still entertained, still made me think about social and moral stuff, which is all i ask to a comedian: to make me laugh while i think "well, of course it's a joke...but mayyyyybe..."

If there was ever a TV episode/show/special/program that SCREAMS: "I have absolutely nothing new to bring you, but I need money", this is it.
I mean it. There was not ONE 'joke' that was funny. NOT ONE. People, listen to me here . . . NOT a single one.
I felt bad for the people in the audience, and there were many, for having to sit through that live. In fact, the camera hardly panned over the audience I imagine because most of them were staring, face blank, and wondering what the heck they were doing there. (You do get a couple of unintended side shots of people squirming in their seats).
Anyway, I know that people here will do what they want and they may not believe the negative ratings, but I'm trying to do you a favor here. This is one turd you should definitely skip, and if you don't, that may actually be the funniest part of this all.
I am being generous giving it a 2/10. It really was that bad.
::EDIT:: As an added note, I left this review no more than three hours ago and figure it was approved about an hour or so later. So far, it has racked up three thumbs down. That ought to tell you that the CK camp is out and about pushing out those ratings. Don't fall for it, and if you do, don't say I didn't try to save you money and time and angst from sitting through this stale and tedious so called comedy routine.

Just saw this. It was downright garbage. Not in the sense that it was crude or offensive, but in that it was so not funny.
In fact, trust me when I tell you that you SHOULD watch it when you can watch it for free, so that you can see what I mean, and so hopefully someone can come back and explain how something like this gets off the ground and into production and actually presented to the public.
If you laugh once, at anything in this, I'd be surprised.

So we watched this with two friends and girlfriend's brother with her dad coming and sitting to watch for maybe ten or fifteen minutes before leaving. That's five and six people total. Room was in silence mostly with some small laughter from only my girlfriend. I found nothing funny in it and feel that Mr. C.K. was trying too hard to deliver material he didn't try hard enough to write. I wanted to include something to say the one joke he said was maybe funny, but looking back I can't pick any that were funny. After show was over we played poker and some discussion came up about comedians and friend said he saw Mr. C.K. in the past and he was much better. Maybe this is just case of no more to joke about. I don't mind the small amount paid to watch it for all of us, I only wish we made better choice of what to watch.
Let me just say that I am actually a big fan of . While I don't think we agree on everything, I think he's hilarious and I love hisstand up (usually).
Unfortunately, this comedy special completely fell flat. he didn't seem to be trying AT ALL, drinking wine on stage, telling a joke once every two minutes instead of a steady stream of punchy comedy like usual.
I think he definitely has begun to phone it in now that he knows he's got a solid fan base, and I don't like it. To blame "internet trolls" on his low ratings is a childish move, and does not take accountability for his poor effort.

Up to now I have seen all of Louis CK's shows. He provides a hilarious mix of dark humour and satire, delivered in a dead-pan fashion.
This Netflix Special, however missed the mark completely. His delivery for a lot of the anecdotes felt too anger- fuelled and it felt he was trying too hard. One of the funniest traits he had in his earlier shows was his carefree attitude and laidbackness. In this Netflix show it seemed like this was lacking. I hope his next standup show is better!

he really isn't funny. I would have guessed he didn't have anything prepared, walked on stage thinking "I got this"...and all we got was a heaping pile of crap. Unimaginative, not funny, flat out lazy. he's not even pleasant to look at.
Game over dude.
Game over dude.
This is as funny as an autopsy
as graphic and as funny as I would imagine a public beheading to be.This special made me want to spend the entire day outside. he represents everything that America has to flush down the toilet in the morning. This is not humor, its more like sacrificing your brain.please?

Before I watched special I had seen the abysmal reviews from Netflix and read the article by that one website ewcom that claimed the special only had bad reviews due to "alt right" trolls. Because of this, I came into the special with an open mind but low expectations. I didn't know much about besides her Comedy Special roasts which I thought were pretty funny. Unfortunately his special was anything but funny, the entire special dragged on with speaking about his sweaty private parts and how much he gets around. This special was not funny or insightful.Netflix took away the rating system because of this garbage
