I really enjoyed these interconnected vignettes. I found them to be overall well written. I was slightly confused by the first one, but quickly got where they were going with it. There were moments of sadness, humor, and poignancy. Well worth the approximately 25 mins to sit through all five.
Its 5 short 5 minute episodes..Watch all back to back in 30 mins.
Each 5 minute show tells a short story of which then switches to another person they interact with and then that second person is the main character of the next episode. But all 5 stories tell a connected linear story about how we all kinda connect through our interactions with others.
I really really enjoyed it, far too short though.
The acting and flow is great and a cameo by Idris obviously makes everything better...You know, like cake..lol.
If youve read my other reviews you will see that I moan about bland lazy unimaginative writing that only serves as propaganda machine..its so so boring and we all know the shows and movies Im on about. Some great stuff but lots of rubbish.
While this show involves black people, white, (south) asian, disabled , drug dealers, cops, nurses and scumbags. Covers it all and also addresses rights and wrongs of the characters. But never feels like a lecture.
Thats how you get your story/message across. Make an entertaining show that tells an engaging story. And this show does exactly that.
I genuinely enjoyed it but wanted to see more of the characters stories.
As a side note - It did kinda feel like a cv filler for the makers. But all directors and writers etc have to start somewhere. Guy ritchie started out making music videos and shorts and now look where he.
