I wrote a lengthy review. But deleted it as I don't want to come down hard on a local family. I wish, the Discovery Channel, or some such entity that knows how to make a movie and to flow a theme would have taken on the direction, production, and editing of this project.
If my dog, with his attention span, somehow made a movie, but my dog had alzheimer's, was drunk, smoked too much weed, countered that by nearly ODing on coke, had suffered a traumatic brain injury, competed in the spin challenge, and made the film randomly over the course of 10 years; it would still come out much more 'sensical' and entertaining than this thing was.
**Note, I was kindly offered my money back, but my complaint is not actually about the money I spent. It is regarding the missed opportunity to present this story, to develop intrigue, to share the fear, regardless of what happened, that the family felt. At best, it was made with best of intentions but zero skill or budget. At worst, someone said they could make a good movie when they couldn't.
