3x2: A Conversation (2017)

This thirty-nine minute discussion can be found on Criterion's THE BEFORE TRILOGY and it features authors Dave Johnson and Rob Stone. Both men have written books on director Richard Linklater and it's very clear from their discussions that they know their stuff and one might argue that might even be obsessive on the subject. I say that because there's no question that this here is a highly intelligent discussion but in my opinion both of them put a bit too much into what they're discussing. Look, this is a discussion so these two fans are allowed to talk about what they think the movies are about. As much as I love the trilogy I couldn't help but somewhat feel that they were reading too much into them. But, again, who am I to argue what they take away from a movie?
