400 to Oahu was originally part of the 2017 Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Project, but a secondary edit was done on the film afterwards making the film how the producers ultimately intended for the film to be seen. The full 400 to Oahu film includes scenes that were not able to be included in the original version thus making the final version a completely different film over twice the original length.
Nearly all of the actors cast were part of LA Acting Studios in Los Angeles.
The project was filmed entirely on location at Air Hollywood Studios.
Principal photography began on August 5, director David Rountree's birthday.
400 to Oahu was accepted into the 2018 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Program.
