This is the first feature film that Brad Jones has directed since The Hooker with a Heart of Gold (2010), excluding Shot on Shitteo (2016).
Brad Jones once told a story that when Lewis Lovhaug flew in from Minnesota to shoot his scenes, he was completely exhausted and just wanted something to eat. Lewis and Brad went to a fancy restaurant and Lewis ordered a cheeseburger with nothing on it. The waiter came back and gave him a bottom bun with a patty and nothing else. The waiter took it back and put a slice of cheese on top. Lewis then jokingly said, "Now you put too much on there".
The disco club scenes were filmed over the course of a day.
Sarah Gobble (Emily) and David Gobble (Steve) are married in real life, although they share no scenes together.
At one point in the movie, the song "We Are One" by Lydia is playing. The song is featured in Caligula (1979), which is Brad Jones' favorite movie. The song is also included on the rare double vinyl soundtrack, which he owns.
